I remember walking out of the theater in 1977 after seeing Star Wars and having a life changing experience because the movie was just that amazing!!! Now that feeling has long since died inside of me!

The Acolyte is complete crap. You really have to work hard to kill a franchise like Star Wars but I have to tell you that Disney has the market cornered on turning Gold to Shit. This is just more of what Disney has been doing forever…. Truly unreal…. Walt Disney is doing backflips in his grave.

I fell asleep 20 minutes into the first episode and never looked back. I thought Filoni would save Star Wars, but somehow he looked at this and didn't see anything wrong with it. I honestly believe if Disney randomly gathered 12 Star Wars fans and asked them to produce a show it would be heads and shoulders above this.

Well done, congratulations and welcome to the club! I Disney doesn't deserve your money and isn't worth your time. With the degradation going on in science fiction and fantasy series/ movies I have gone starting to read more books. I can really recommend it. There is a vast ocean of super imaginative original universes on offer in books. All without identity politics in there and much more creative and deeper than anything on offer on TV Give it a try with Hyperion, Revelation Space, Children of Time, Stormlight Archive or Mistborn (last one if you want something big but easy to read) and you will be blown away. As for Star Wars, cherish the memories of the old stuff. Rip off the band aid and accept it's dead.

The new live action shows (except andor, it had great writing and acting) and movies are rough, the animated shows are decent enough (not counting resistance cartoon, as that was obviously meant for really young children). BUT! The games have been good. And thats only because they werent directly made by disney, just licensed through them.

You mentioned how you felt like throwing all your Star Wars merch and collectibles away because of how badly "The Acolyte" poisons the well. It made me think of Jenny Nicholson's takedown of "The Rise of Skywalker" and this quote really stood out: "The worst thing a franchise ending can do is make you feel kind of stupid and embarrassed for being so excited about it in the first place." This is the crime of all of _Disney Star Wars,_ that it takes everything we loved about Star Wars and corrupts it to such an extent that we question why we ever bothered to begin with. And this show isn't even finished yet.

The whole twin thing qas made before, by Bioware on the game The Old Republic, but were two white humans, trains since they were almost able to walk, dispaching sith rogether, fighting along side each other. But, one brother was getting tired of being manipulated like a pawn, while thenother stayed loyal to their masters. Eventually the brother rebeled and accidently killed his twin, making him hate their jedi masters even more and effectively becoming a sith. This story was made almost a decade ago, and the sole trailer was better than anything Disney has done so far.

So nice to see your on point take about this craziness.

Space Lesbians force impregnating each other and then fighting the Jedi over who's going to groom them aside, did anyone else notice that these identical twins aren't identical as children.

Sounds like Headland wanted to make a high fantasy show about a witch family (which might have worked in the Willow universe) but was somehow given Star Wars for no other reason than franchise name.

Having read dune relatively recently, That cry was suppused to be like when Lady Jessica is choosing her house maiden. The house maiden presents the Crysknife. Not as a weapon but as a gift. Lady Jessica replies in a way that fulfills the scripture and she cries out with pain, mourning and ecstasy. To me that's what I think that Acolyte was trying to capture. Lady Jessica and the Bene Geyserite are? surprise surprise an order of...?????
