his "canon" was firmly established in star wars legends. Usually legends quarrel with the canon and canon with the legends, so there we are right now. people hating. hating that many things in star wars are being retconned just to fit the narrative. and just recently, Wookipedia, the official Star Wars Wiki, has become the target of a backlash after updating Ki-Adi-Mundi's date of birth after The Acolyte ep 4 was shown.

They are as slow as a bad internet connection! 😂 Qui-Gon's reaction time is far superior than those joke Jedi, when he sensed Maul on the Speeder Bike approaching then quickly told Anakin to get down! 😂 Acolyte is the worst and the most garbage show to ever existed from an LGBTQRSTUV+++ baloney people, and I pray for it to be removed from Disney+ and to be decanonized like the Willow series. Say what you will about the show but they nailed the build up to The Master. Mae finds Kelnacca dead as night falls. Sol senses something and they see something floating to the ground. The Master slowly approaches them and without saying a word. Osha is scared as The Master stands inches from Osha. He ignites the saber, briefly tricking the audience that he killed her, then throws Osha with the force by barely moving his hand. The Jedi charge and pushes all the Jedi back. Perfect introduction. Imagine if we hadn't seen the master in any promotional stuff except the saber. We only hear his voice at the end of episode 1. Then BOOM, their he is at the end of episode 4. The Sith or whatever he is was genuinely creepy and great cliffhanger. Their are aspects of The Acyote that I find interesting. It being set at the tail end of the High Republic is a nice change of pase compared to constantly being I'm the Skywalker Saga. The character of Sol is fantastic, he's the highlight of the show for me. The mystery looks intriguing and the fights look good so far. Despite that, the story feels off and weird right now. I'm not even pissed about the whole virgin birth thing because it was never specifically stated what they did. The acting is hit or miss. The effects look either good or CW. I'll watch the whole series before I make a final judgment.

I agree. The show is uneven and a bit all over the place with the things you said. I also agree with their birth. People complain and say it goes against the birth of Anakin, but we don't know enough yet about how they were created to be able to say that.

I love how the Sith knocking out all of the Jedi with one use of the force sets such an ominous tone. Clearly a VERY powerful individual!

Love watching your reactions it’s so nice to actually see someone who is enjoying Star Wars.

i enjoy star wars, but not this fanfic tho. Where they actually picked whole cast, not because they are good actors, but because of what political ideology they are pushing... Up till this moment, episode 5 is the only episode i managed to finish watching, and to be fair, it was the only good episode. With 180 mil budget, the first 4 episodes are worse than some low budget sitcoms. But episode 5 is already twisting the jedi in shit way, that they cant even sense in the force what should be instantly evident at end of the episode. And take a guess, a jedi, who creators try to make a bad guy and bad guy, are both the best actors in the show, and take a guess, they chose as bad guys the 2 actors, who are actually good, to be bad guys, because they are straight men.

There are only 2 good actors, and they are bad guys, and there is very simple explenation, and its what hollywood pushes in our faces all the time lately. And, this agenda pushing actually makes people hate LGBTQ not like them. People like me, who were previously neutral, are starting to hate it all. If you leave me alone, i just do not care, but if you push it as fascist, where its only way allowed to be, when you call everybody an it, cos saying he/her in games is even banable for 2 weeks, if someone from lgbtq doesnt like it. Idk how, there's nothing enjoyable about this show other than 2 fight scenes. Everything else is terrible.

Leeland Chee was the Lucas film Continuity Database Administrator (Head of Cannon). In a 2008 article he said this, "George's view of the universe is his view. My hot take is Mae said that she has changed her mind to trick the other guy into killing the jedi and reveling himself so she has both killed a jedi without using a weapon an learnt her masters identity at the same time! But I don't think the writer's are that clever

Sol is such a pure Jedi. One of the best exemplars of a true Jedi we've seen.

Throwing my two cents into the "who's the Master" speculation: my guess is ... Torbin! He has a slight build, he was clearly traumatized by something that happened the night of the fire and might blame the Jedi, he's been meditating for over a decade, which means he could've Force Projected his image to Mae and Qimir. (while using the image of a Sith, the Jedi's boogeyman so he's not really Sith which means the crybabies can stop complaining ... but I'm sure they won't) Qimir could have easily faked the poison so that it was non-lethal, Torbin could probably fake his life-signs to appear dead, and ... he has a scar. And we all know scar = bad guy!

Third time watching this and I realized the bug things looks like the creatures from Nausicaa.

Mae's turn is so sudden, like the events 16 years ago there must be more to it than we've seen.

Really starting to think this show will benefit a lot when the full season is out and we’re able to look back on the season with all the context. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still enjoying it, but I am curious to see what the full picture looks like.

I felt the same way when I saw that wookie Jedi in the chair I was thinking is he dead already or is he asleep and I really wanted The wookie Jedi to stay for a few more episodes but the new sith we just saw he creeps me out and that helmet he was wearing creeps me out even more because it looked like he was smiling

I think that guy helping Mae might be the dark side individual. He probably killed the Wookie Jedi and set Mae up for the downfall. But I think he may also be the apprentice of the real dark lord. Perhaps they were using Mae to point out the hypocrisy of the Jedi, or at least their mistakes made to that coven that one night. We still have many unanswered questions and I'm here to find out some answers. My biggest complaint of this episode is the runtime. We needed an extra 15 minutes. Your reactions always put a smile on my face. Thanks for using your force for good. This show is actually pretty decent if folks can leave their identity politic bullshit at the door. I have a few minor criticisms here and there but nothing that makes me all butt hurt about it. Take care. See you for the next episode!

How do you go against 9 Jedi with ease? I need an explanation

Mae's 180 that she did on Qimir threw me for a loop and based on your reaction and other reactions I have seen threw you all as well. A good episode, but obviously we are still missing some pieces to this story. The ending leaving viewers wanting more, including myself, was fantastic. Still lots of questions to be answered and hopefully we get those answers in the coming episodes. Thanks as always for your reaction and everything you do here on your channel. It's much appreciated. Some of the arguments in the comments are out of hand. I'd like to point out that the IN CANON opinion of some of the Jedi was that the stories, legends and "prophesies" were at best, misinterpretations, and at worst, just a means of keeping control of others through lies. If the characters themselves are not meant to take it all literally, then neither is the viewer. Fixating on a point that some licensee came up with to sell bubblegum cards, doesn't mean you know anything about what Lucas was developing, how it began, or how it was envisioned. It just means you bought gum. Be humble and watch the shows as they play. Find it boring, then watch Farscape.

All I have to say about Ki Adi Mundi is that he's Jedi Arrogance at it's worst, he's never right about anything. The Master floats in like Count Dooku, yeets Osha away, & put the Jedi immediately on the defensive. Sol & Jecki are the only actual Jedi acting Jedi in this show & I hope they are/will be ok. Bazil is you're new favorite & we must accept that. You are correct in that the Master is some kind of Dark Sider but not yet confirmed to specifically be a Sith

Really wanted to like this series, but like Kenobi there is just too much wrong that takes me out of it. Characters change their mind with little or no reason, Mae chooses to disable the door droid and walk in full view through the temple rather than enter through the ( convenient) unguarded open roof that she later uses, Jedi stand and watch as the ' dark one' glides in, walks right up to Osha who they are supposed to be protecting, and only when the sabre appears do they do anything, far too late. People can just lie to evade the jedi test and apparently the jedi can't sense this, just as they all failed to sense the creatures surrounding them in the woods,because plot convenience. Sol uses the force to grab Mae earlier yet later just grabs for her hand, the list goes on. There are some fantastic parts but it's hard to appreciate them among all the bad.

@@BenChanNYC Of course, from the famous 12 parsecs ,to Leia remembering a mother who died at birth, but they were few and far between compared to the many in each episode of a $180 million production. These are not nit picks but basic characterisation flaws and story telling, Yord demands the blaster from Osha, gets distracted for a second and then forgets about it . Sol absolutely convinced Mae is dead but does a complete 180 simply because Osha says she thinks she is alive. Picking up escape pods and the prisoners but not landing and checking if the most important prisoner, Mae, survived the crash.Instead going back to base where they then decide to go back and look. So yes, mistakes happen in everything, but not with the frequency and obviousness of this.

I agree with you 100%; they did Kalnacca dirty on this show. Even if we get more of him in flashbacks, he deserved better than to die off screen. Ki-Adi Mundi is SO full of self-importance and denial that it just couldn't be a Sith (TPM) and Duku just couldn't be a murderer (AOTC), and he's totally wrong on both counts. He represents the arrogance and ignorance if the Jedi. So I'm not at all surprised he's just wrong about the whole thing and that's the point of pretty much everything he says in the prequels. As for his age, there's been no recent canon, so it's new information that here's been around as long as he has.

Episode 5 has the same director as this episode (Alex Garcia Lopez), and same writer too (Kor Adana), so I think 100% we will see a continuation of the cliffhanger next episode. F yeah haha. Also Kogonada directed episode 3 and episode 7, and both episodes have the same writer (Jasmyne Flournoy), so I think episode 7 will have flashbacks.

I watched the first 10 minutes of episode one and turned it straight off. I knew where this was going. Disney ruin everything they get their hands on.

Mundi shouldn't even be alive at this point in time, they literally changed his age during the premiere of this episode, and shoehorned him in this episode because, reasons? Mind, he even says the sith have been extinct for a millennium in ROTS. Mae literally decides she's good out of nowhere and wants to turn her self in after killing jedi masters, says her allegiance is with her sister when she literally tried killing her. Imagine Yoda not being able to sense any of this. If he could sense the jedi getting killed across the galaxy in ROTS, you can bet he's gonna sense these jedi getting slaughtered. Anakins birth did get a slap in the face. These witches created 2 perfect force sensitive twins using a kindergarten chant. Also why TF did all the jedi just decide to charge at the "sith"? 🤦‍♂️ This show is the result of when you hire non passionate activists who don't have a clue what their doing instead of passionate artists who actually care about the franchis. Each episode gets worse, and worse, and w o r s e... especially when you shoehorne fucking pronouns No show / movie is perfect by any means, but this... This is fucking atrocious. It could have easily been good, but fumbled HARD.

I think the character and costume designs are incredible, paired with the background music it flows really well. 2:50 my opinion is that he is the apprentice for the real Sith Lord, back in episode one at the end when Yoda and Mace are talking Yoda says "Two there always is" so I believe how we all jumped that Darth Maul was the big bad guy we are being lead to believe the same here. Just my thoughts but maybe I'm wrong.

The dark side user doing their Death Eater best entrance was excellent. I still think this is a misdirect and the big bad isn't Qimir. I would prefer it to be Koril as she wasn't seen dead by Mae or Osha. And the Dathomirian Zabrak do have a certain love of the red lightsabres. :)

The sith in this time are tenebris and plageuis. Plageuis was an apprentice for over 100 years

i know a lot of ppl are mad at mae's heel turn, but honestly i loved it. I do wish they'd added a scene on qimir's ship where she gets to really wrestle with osha being alive, maybe holo-ing her master to confront him about it and getting that stern 'you made an oath' speech from qimir. I also kind of hyped myself up to that kelnacca would join the party for a bit then get a big sacrifice/ Hodor moment, but 🤷

I don't think the sith master is Qimir even though he acts suspicious, it maybe a swerve to reveal someone more important. The next episode could be Mae's persepective of the fire on Brendok.

I like this show. I know it gets a little bit of criticism because that's slow start. But how many other Star Wars shows? Had a slow start like the book of boba fatt and the kenobi show. But I'm so interested on which sith lord. are they gonna reveal to us? Is it dark plagues? Are his master? I forgot his name. I just remember it starts with a T

I would be really surprised (and delighted) if Qimir was *not* the Master.

Kylo wasn't a Sith, no and interestingly (in terms of lightsabers), neither was Dagan Gera in Jedi: Survivor. I think current canon at least allows for someone's lightsaber to turn red with enough exposure to the dark side. It's not so much a ritual as much as it is the kyber crystal unable to withstand the dark side and thus being made to bleed. In Gera's case he simply picked it up after all. So yeah, totally feasible that the BBEG of the Acolyte isn't Sith, just exposed to the Dark side enough for it to affect their lightsaber.

So many red herrings in this series. Nothing is what you think it is. 😂😂

Honestly this series is a slow start. The only things keeping me interested is Master Sol's performance, the mystery on Brendok, any reveals to the darksider's identity, and any potentially awesome lightsaber fights. That cliffhanger did suck big time, like come on just have a small exchange of combat before cutting it off. That said, the Master's entrance was really well done, having the sun go down, Mae shuddering with the realization he's there, the level of experience between Sol and the others sensing the danger, and the overall atmosphere before he draws his lightsaber, it really put him up there with Sith entrances *cough* Sidious 😅. Well that's all I have to say, awesome reaction as always. See you in the next one and May the Force be with you, Always. 💯🔥💚✌️

If the Jedi state that the the Sith were extinct at the time of the Phantom Menace, while actually dealing and meeting with a Sith every single day, is it breaking canon for other Sith to also be around without them being aware?

When that was said, you could have added "that I know of". You forget that these characters were written with beliefs and dialog, not spewing random unbreakable "facts" for you to argue over. Character dialog isn't legal testimony. If you don't agree, then perhaps you should rip Lucas for Obi Wan stating he didn't remember R2D2. Oh no, Lucas is ruining Star Wars!

Yet we live rent free in your head. If it was truly good you wouldn't feel the need to mention the negative backlash. But, the show sucks, and no matter how hard you try, you can't get our opinions out of your head.

The co-writer of this episode, who also wrote episode 5, posted that this episode had to be cut shorter due to the next episode being much longer.
