    @@Phyrre56 pretty sure they expected her to win it every week prior to changing it up. Without it, Elissa easily was gonna be out early. Then without Elissa having that power the bullies of the season (Aaryn, Jeremy, and Kaitlin, etc) likely would've run that house to the finale. It'd be like an early version of BB 21. Also, in my opinion, people might've initially liked her just for being Rachel's sister. However, they genuinely started liking her after seeing her throughout the season. Everyone loves an underdog The MVP twist was one of the only saving graces for BB 15 in my opinion

    The moment of Kaitlyn failing the children's puzzle was terrific. I remember the next day there was people on bb reddit who had been in the audience that night and were talking about how the producers started to lose their minds when it became apparent that she was going to fail. Then, to watch them scrambling to set up chairs for a post eviction interview because they figured there was no chance of her failing was hilarious.

    Unfortunately, unless you have some dynamic where the power shifts back and forth from the houseguest, then the gameplay gets horribly slanted, and even if you are rooting for a player that is benefiting from that, it can be hard to watch from the one-sides gameplay. Without the twists in BB22 (minus the neighbor’s house “twist”), the gameplay would have been even more static and almost un-watchable to even the production’s liking. Almost, without Kaysar returning in BBUS6, think how that season would have been with Janelle getting booted before during the first double eviction. Twist aren’t a bad things in Big Brother; it just needs to balanced out correctly.

The other the return of America’s Player for one week, resulting in America’s Player, Dan, being swing vote, and this, the player they wanted out, Jessie, that week, and the fallout from that played a huge factor in the upcoming week.

    9 and 19 both suffered from both concepts and twists for that season that just didn’t work either conceptually or in execution. 22 and 23 was more based on the player with the twists not being bad highlights or even needed to produce some dynamic. The common thread with the last two seasons was a core power formed and setup a status quo to where they players on the outs fell in line, especially with the outsiders targeting each other (like Derek X targeting Christian only for Derek X to get backdoored by Sara Beth, which then Claire helped sealed both Sara Beth’s and her own fates for not doing anything with the Coin of Destiny) or not being able the comps needed to either affect the gameplay/continuing fighting, like DaVonne and Alyssa.

    I don’t think so. While the power flopped based on the player’s doing, the production did commit to the twist, and filled up the season in that regard with the Team Twist/Wildcard comps lasting/effecting of the prejury, the High Roller Room being a way for America to have input while lasting until the back-to-back double evictions. For example, all Claire did with the Coin of Destiny was the enable Tiffany to play in her place, and in turn, set up her own backdoor. That said, the Wildcard comp could have had higher stakes for the consequences for that winner accepting immunity with consequences also happening if they don’t accepting it.

    While the twin twist in BBUS17 was busted early, it wasn’t necessarily a flop since the twins (plus Austin due to being in a showmance with one of the twins, Liz), played a role in huge with how alliances/power was formed that season, while the rest of the house played with or around that dynamic (including when Steve and Vanessa went after them). Despite the issues with Camp Comeback, it was arguably successful with how an alliance, the Fellowship of the Zing formed from that, and one it members returned. Had the twist not happened (and Cliff returning), BBUS21 would be slanted in a much more dour direction, in terms gameplay and personal interactions.

    In addition to consequence (more on other players) of the players taking safety, there should have been consequences (more on the Wildcard winner) if they didn’t accept safety. Like, for the first one, the consequences forces the HOH to going after which team they could initially nominate (though the HOH, Frenchie, could pick the replacement nominee for any non-immune player and team) with it either being the Wildcard’s winner, Christian/Kings, team (if they accepted immunity) or one of the other three via random selection, if the winner rejected immunity.

    i think that the coaches twist from bb14 should be redone (hear me out okay) the season starts with all new players, and everyone has a big brother mentor (a previous player giving them tips on how to stay in the game; think will, vanessa, paul, janelle, etc.) but everyone thinks they’re the only one with a mentor. they meet their mentors 3x a week in the DR (before noms, before veto meeting, before voting) and fill each other in, like the twins would meet and fill each other in on BB17 or BB5. If a prodigy makes it to Week 6, their mentor gets to join the game. This would give returning players like Janelle or Kaysar an opportunity to get further into the game without being taken out for their previous gameplay choices and overall threat level, and it would be more entertaining having a limited time to coach, giving opportunities for really good mishaps or really cutthroat gameplay. to add to the drama, the mentors could be living in the jury house and have opportunities to communicate and get their players to align together in the real house, maybe a variation on a coaches’ competition where the winner is anonymous and they get to save one player from elimination or unleash a twist on the players, etc.

    The reason these twists flop is because all that matters in big brother today is you have to manipulate just one person... the HOH.... so as long as you don't stand out by doing something dumb for the whole house to see or take money you are safe. Big Brother now would benefit from getting rid of the HOH and have only one person safe each week with everyone else eligible to be evicted (which I know puts this game in Suvivor territory). You would get more strategy as you have to manipulate many people all week instead of 1 person up to noms or veto

  • @marklisowski6549

    @marklisowski6549

    2 жыл бұрын

    After thinking of this, the main POD (point of difference) Big Brother has over Survivor and other reality comp is having that focal point of power. While the HoH power can get exploited, it can also legitimately be beneficial as well. Also, the reason why they did HOH/main focal power was in light of the fact the showing needed re-tooling since the original format did something like this (minus the immunity). It is it the reason why they re-tooled the veto from everyone playing to only 6 people to the other being selected via random spin/draw. In regards to this season, the Cookout, game wise, was an improved version of the Pretty Boys, since everyone else ended up targeting each other when they got to power instead someone in that alliance and were even more clueless about the alliance (minus Alyssa since Tiffany decided to blab that while she was still in the house) until they got some confirmation of “large alliance still fully in tact” upon goodbye messages.

  • @marklisowski6549

    @marklisowski6549

    One suggestion for both BBUS and BBCAN is intertwine the HOH and POV a little more in a way to involve more social strategy. A suggestion could be: 1. The HOH isn’t unable to play in the veto, but the number of houseguest still being retain at 6 and the HOH both still gets to draw a players (first) and, since they are now not playing, they automatically act as host (when that is needed) 2. After all players are picked, the HOH gets to select one additional Houseguest to act as their representative. Despite being their representative, the veto holder is free to honor or ignore the HOH’s wishes. 3. If the HOH’s representative win the veto, then the HOH wins a ring of placement (able to switch for themselves. It is only good for the following veto draw, is to be played after the veto draw but before the HOH selected their representative, and this process continues until the the Final 7 veto draw (since everyone plays afterwards).

However, I think that if bb did what you said as a twist it would add an interesting element to the game that they might be looking for, especially in the middle of the game

    Possible idea for a twist: During evictions, the vote turnout is simply not disclosed. And the only thing revealed to the houseguests is who is safe and who is evicted. This could make it easier for houseguests to play their own games and not vote "with the house." It also could make it simpler for blindsides to happen on evictions as well as for players to turn on each other, causing players to campaign more earnestly. And overall make things less predictable.

    Gotta say I'm so tired of seeing the MVP twist thing being misrepresented. America did NOT vote to send up Elissa. Granted, CBS doesn't release the official numbers, but going by all the fan polling that was done at the time (which, FWIW, had been completely accurate regarding the rest of the America Votes of the season), America was voting for Aaryn. However, Aaryn was put on the block and no longer eligible, so Elissa went up because she was in second place in the voting (likely because the next biggest group of fans after the ones voting Elissa to get MVP were the ones that resented her for getting it over and over). But there has been this incorrect narrative that people keep pushing, mostly feedsters and people who do in depth analysis, because they miss this fact so looking at it at a surface level they get to go "Haha, look at the dumb casuals" and feel good about themselves. Other than that, great work as always Peridiam.

    I hated the high rollers room twist cause America voted Derek and Hannah to play in a cool competition and get a prize, and they threw and didn't play the competition respectively. I was so mad I stopped watching the show and haven't watched it since. I watched a few episodes but that's it. Also Claire won the competition and DIDNT EVEN USE IT. So unentertaining

    Hello I doubt you will see this comment however I have a question that I guess anyone can answer. I have been watching this show since season 12 and was wondering how much I am missing by not watching live feeds and how much and why they are worth watching.

    Robert was not amicable with Erika they probably the most drama out of any of the exes. They had that whole scene where they talked about their relationship and Erika apologized at like the final 6.

    i just hate fan voted twists.....because then it's like we vote for a power or like bb23 where we give money but then the hg just either doesn't play or doesn't use it or the person we want doesn't win the power....i miss when a twist was central part of the game or even like hidden twists where the hg has to figure it out themselves rather than julie telling them about it. idk the producers of big brother are so fucking bad. i need the producers of love island uk to come over here because they know how to make an entertaining show.

    They need to give people a reason to HAVE to use the power or pick the apple, etc. If you don't pick an apple this week you forfeit a chance to play in the next comp (veto- your name is not in the bag or must sit out HOH comp) With the secret powers, if you don't use it by X week you spin a wheel and it goes to someone else, etc. I personally want more chaos and randomness to the game!

    Both the teams twist and the double fake double eviction/one player returning in BBCAN9 could have worked and have been threaded with the secret HOH twist of altering the way someone becoming HOH, like only the team captains can win HOH win while they have rely on their team to either win HOH or get nominated (past Week 1) if their team used. When Tera returned to game from the fake double eviction , she also returned as HOH, resulting in the rest of the house creating the situation of successfully voting out one Houseguests while inadvertently voting the other person to be the next HoH

    The BBMVP twist also flopped because most of the cast that season was EXTREMELY unlikeable that season. The cast was so unlikeable that Howard, a guy who didn't even get that good of an edit and was a terrible public speaker managed to come in the top 3 in America's vote.
