This is my local area the people are not happy these houses are being demolished. i cant work out why the authorities havnt built a flood wall behind these streets surely its more economical than to tear these houses down. i feel they have plans for the land probably will be sold to a private housing developer.

@@kurtvanlife Thanks for replying, I agree, I'd like to point out you come across as a very open and accepting. If I lived in Wales 'I have considered it as the country is one of (if not the best) most beautiful landscapes UK has to offer' and had you as a neighbor I'd be more than happy, feeling totally comfortable. It's just some would say the whole of the UK has an 'us and them' mentality. Celts don't like Anglos, English dislike Irish, Scots don't like English, so on so forth.... (All based off our colourful history) I've lived in the UK 35 years and fully understand the social constructs the islands have. I've personally met many amazing Welshman' they have a light hearted outlook to live and visitors as you mentioned in your previous comment. (Watch 'Twin Town' see what I mean) My point I made at the beginning was do you think 'sometimes' outsiders can be left feeling un-welcomed, I appreciate your answer and completly agree the media 'BBC' dislike everything about GB, they dislike our flags including the beautiful Welsh flag, most of all the 'HATE' the kind, tolerant, peaceful people of of UK and are happy to let everyone know it. I'd like to hear more of your opinions on why you think Wales has deserted streets as you probably know more than anyone from living there. Appreciate your channel, keep up the good work, keep showing people parts of Wales most won't ever see. 😁🤙

I know the streets verry well a friend of mine from university his family lived thier close to when they was built as his grandad worked in the mines close by as did his dad they left when the council started compulsory buying it was all due to the rive close by flooding the streets and houses that caused them to be pushed out the homes even though a lot of money was invested in to the river to make it deeper and reinforce the rive Bank such a sad time whefh helping them move out and helping some of the neighbours move thier stuff rember an old couple who lived four doors up who lived in the street since they was born both born thier and both fell in love and got married in the church near by its not just bricks and morter it's a home full of love joy happy memories when she showed us her photos of the street when she was younger pictures of party's and all sorts going on lines of people out on thier doorsteps such an amazing little place to of lived once but any way Tom and his family moved out and are now having to rent a council house due to the lack of money offered to them as its not the house that's worth anything it's the land it's sat on hope this information helps you if you want any more let me know I'm willing to give as much as I can to help

So... why are they bricked up from the inside then and I find it odd that those still living there have taken good care of their properties and they look freshly painted! Not what I would expect for someone in fear of a river flood. There are a fair few villages that were deliberately flooded to become water reservoirs for neighbouring towns some many many years ago..extraordinary sights to see. . I’m in South Wales. Someone mentioned Bargoed and Merthyr. They are high up I can’t see them being flooded out. There’s weird and sad stuff going on here I don’t like it at all. The welsh land is very spiritual too and hidden secrets.

That row of houses do nt look that old, maybe 50 years but under 100 years old, i got a strong feeling the only asbestos you would find is on a lean 2 or a shed and that would be the roof and they are safe as long as they havent got damaged.

If the houses are gone I’m wondering if you can re-title the video with the location/ estate/ street name/ area (might add a few more views on as people might search KZread to be able to look back at their old street/ area or if they’re just looking into the history) maybe add a year to the title just so people know it was so long ago too and don’t go there expecting to see it as it was
