Modern ICBMs typically carry multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRVs), each of which carries a separate nuclear warhead, allowing a single missile to hit multiple targets. MIRV was an outgrowth of the rapidly shrinking size and weight of modern warheads and the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaties (SALT I and SALT II), which imposed limitations on the number of launch vehicles. It has also proved to be an "easy answer" to proposed deployments of anti-ballistic missile (ABM) systems: It is far less expensive to add more warheads to an existing missile system than to build an ABM system capable of shooting down the additional warheads; hence, most ABM system proposals have been judged to be impractical. The first operational ABM systems were deployed in the United States during the 1970s. The Safeguard ABM facility, located in North Dakota, was operational from 1975 to 1976. The Soviets deployed their ABM-1 Galosh system around Moscow in the 1970s, which remains in service. Israel deployed a national ABM system based on the Arrow missile in 1998, but it is mainly designed to intercept shorter-ranged theater ballistic missiles, not ICBMs. The Alaska-based United States national missile defense system attained initial operational capability in 2004.
Today, at least five countries possess missiles that can fly a range of at least 13,000km, can hit targets almost everywhere on earth, and they are North Korea, India, China, Russia and USA. 1. Pakistan and India are neighbours and their internediate range missiles can reach each others territory's. 2. It is dangerous to fire missile at a Nuclear state as it's impossible for the receiving state to know if it's nuclear or non-nuclear. 3. ICBM's or any other land based missile are deterrents (in nuclear states). Considering the range they are a deterrent to China.

I wonder that when a country can launch its satellite in Geosynchronous transfer orbit(GTO), which means the delivery vehicle(rocket) can travel upto 37000km or more than so., then how come that same country it just has the capability of launching its ballistic missile just over 5000-to-8000km..! Because the space rocket and ballistic missile are pretty much the same, just a little bit of minor change in space rocket can turn it into a missile.

I think brahmos 2 isn't a ballistic missile its a cruise missile but not as fast as surya missile and agni missile as its speed is mach 8 that is 9800 km/hr according to wiki.

The defence is the issue here not the destruction
For your kind information, india does not have any missiles with 13000 km ranges in service.
What about babur missile from pakistan . I've heard that it can cover a range of 100meters .

bhamos is a cruise missile, and which no.1 in that category. here they talk about ballistic missiles.
As France has permanently 3 to 4 SNLE in the sea, the M51 (10 000 km range) can hit everywhere on earth too... and it is a recent missile... The Korean is recent too, but its technology is less performing than other nuke powers...
