This is exactly what I need to hear. No one has ever addressed in such a way, that I realize this is entirely my problem

Pray for me and with me! I’m guilty of gluttonous behavior🙁 I know I have this problem but never thought it’s gluttony remember the medical professionals gives it a medical diagnosis instead it’s a sin problem and that’s why meds help to a degree OR they simply don’t! Heavenly Father help me and others who are struggling and suffering from gluttonous behaviors! In Jesus Christ name I pray amen 🙏🏾

God DID say why. Genesis 2:17 - but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."

Indeed, God did say why Adam shouldn't eat of the fruit. But as a fellow student of the Word, it is easy for me to lean toward Pastor Mark's conclusion, that God's aim for that instruction was for obedience. How many of us, after reading this Scripture Gen 2:17, felt for Eve and Adam, that if only God were a bit more specific or clearer about what He meant by "die", explaining things well enough so that they would understand enough not to eat the fruit? I definitely did think of it, and so did the many people I once studied with. I thought God didn't make much effort in His instruction. I thought He was being unfair. But He was satisfied enough with their understanding of death, that wasn't the problem. The problem was indeed the mistake of Adam and Eve to even entertain the possibility that God didn't have their best interests at heart, that he was hiding something from them, that they needed to take matters into their own hands, that having moved away from the expected desire to do God's will, they had forged a new desire to become like God.

After the 25 minute mark about fasting, I think everything after that was basically tangent. And God did give a reason not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because it would kill them.

Not always. Sometimes citrus fruits high in vitamin C are very helpful when removing from wounds or viral infections. However, for detoxing, fasting is better.

He's a heretic saying if you desire food you can't have heaven because the desire for food is a natural part of ourselves God put in us so that we would know to sustain ourselves. God has already forgiven all sins past, present, and future so in the grand scheme of things, if you're a Christian, your sin is meaningless because it's already forgiven.

Everyone struggles with sin, including you! Don’t judge him when you yourself probably have sinned countless times. Are you saying your perfect 👌 and never embodied any of these? I doubt it. One perfect man existed, and we nailed him to a cross 🥺
