My first 69 Eyes piece was "the chair" off some compilation. I quickly thought he sounded like a much MUCH deeper version of Dave Vanian...!
Just like the moon does, we rise & shine & fall, for you I rise & shine and crawl, victims aren’t we all. Great interview guys, and thanks Lynn for asking about Brandon Lee & Lost Boys, I love hearing the story behind my favorite songs, and not many interviewers ask such questions.

Thank you! And I agree, I'm so glad Lynn asked that because his answer was amazing! Glad you enjoyed it 🧛🏻♂️
Thank your for this captivating chat with one of the artists that influenced and mesmerized my life the most!🦇🖤🌙 You don't get to hear this typical old-school sound that often anymore, and it always makes me beyond happy that there are bands like The 69 Eyes who entrance modern times with the nostalgia that means so much to many people and with the melancholy only art can set to music and clothe into words. I agree that "Brandon Lee" is one of their most spellbinding creations, but I have to add "The Chair" and "Dance d'Amour" to my personal favourites!🖤🥀🩸 Anyways, thank you for asking such unusual and profound questions, especially those about his inspirations and his view on the subculture really intrigued me and made this interview so much better than most ordinary interviews you get to see somewhere else. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!🖤 Whenever I see people like both of you, and Jyrki of course, it makes me smile because it shows me that our spirit will never die, no matter how much the world around us withers in consumerism and superficiality.🙏🌹

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it! I agree, it does seem like the 'rock band' sound is going away in the sense that it's evolving in modern bands to incorporate so much of other genres. It's refreshing to see a band like the 69 eyes that just focuses on being a real rock band. And he gave us such incredible answers he really was a gem and a delight to spend time with! Seeing Dance D'amour at M'era Luna was truly an experience! 🧛🏻♂️
Very much enjoyed your Cemetery Confessions! Hugs.

Cool to hear him say about not having much life experience yet, And so used movies as inspiration Reminded of how Robert Smith often used books as inspiration for particularly the Cure's earlier songs like Charlotte Sometimes or Killing an Arab

Yeah I feel like it's something alot of artists forget you can do! It's so exciting to think about writing a song about a movie you love it even your own take on a movie since people can take away different meanings from movies and songs 🦇

Hearing a lot of association with cradle and the 69 eyes. Never expected that 😅 would have loved to see their Co headline tour! Thanks!
In 2019 my band served as an opening act for The 69 Eyes in Mexico city, after the sold out show i went to their dressing room and they all did the Lost boys "Michael" ritual but shouting my name until i finished a wine bottle and the party lasted all night, this is something i'll tell my chlldren if i get to be an old vamp 🍷🫀 new sub!

I would like to give all the credit for that to Lynn. I think it helps that they see we're goths and we share interests and it's not a standard journalist speaking to them. But Lynn does a little Pre interview chat with all our guests while I set up equipment etc and I think that really helps set the vibe 🦇

11:47 I think the same. I've watched Jyrki talk in many different interviews etc. And I have to say, he's a vibe. The kind of person I would like to know and have great convos with. It seems he's very down to earth.

thanks for uploading. i know nothing of this band other than someone wearing a 69 eyes shirt made fun of my friend for having autism. unfortunately that experience stuck with me and every time i think see the 69 eyes anywhere i think of that moment. it's nice to see they are people and to now be able to associate the 69 eyes to something other than that shitty experience.

I love your interviews and passion for all things from the darker shade of pale. Would be great to hear from Virgin Prines and De Press if poss. Hope to be at Mera Luna one day. Have reawakened 10 years now after doing the whole bitter pill paradox parent thing, and so its good to see the green shoots of revival having been so depressed trying to reawaken before when it seemed things had all but 'died' in the early 2000s. I digress and will shut the stuff up now. Love n lite Gzy.

He's right about the ost for the Lost Boys. It needs more "OOOPH". saying that though It's an incredible set piece for the era and goddamn it's got an oiled delicious, Tim Capello lashing that sax out of it. (His stuff with Gunship is glorious).. Also agree with the sunglasses aspect. I wear them probably 18 hours a day, everyday. Viewing a world though a darker lens with a reflective lens opens up Approachment of 90% people more entertaining. seeing themselves under a stone face of beard and well pampered hair they'll see their own guilt and f*ck off :P p.s Conor reach out to me. I got some stuff for you and Lynn

funny thing about "Gothic girl" the song was made as a joke at first i think Jyrki mentioned that in his own book "Kulkurin valssi" the record company liked that song so much they wanted more similar songs from them that's pretty much how they went from a "Glam rock" band to a Gothic Rock band.
