The biggest challenge to the NNPC is the fact that many nations are trying to move away from their products. As as you've rightly mentioned at the beginning of the video, all most all of NNPC's business comes from exports. That's the biggest problem. Renewables are going to be what puts an end to this sham of a company and I'll be very happy to see the end of the NNPC.

@@oluakinwale4859 Gas is still seen as a fossil feul by the big consumer nations albeit a cleaner one but it still emits tonnes of carbon nonetheless. Thus they intend to phase it out when their alternatives work better. For example take a look at France. They prefer getting most of their power from nukes and the rest from wind solar and hydro. By the time France starts using 100% EVs and trucks, the only means of transportation needing oil will be Aircraft and there will be no need for gas. Furthermore, EU nations are prioritizing energy security and that's the major motivator for going "green". You can say the same about China and US. Once they achieve the so-called energy security by going independent of other nations, that's it, Nigeria won't have that leverage anymore.

Corruption in the oil and gas sector is a major problem in Nigeria. It has a negative impact on the economy, the environment, and the people of Nigeria. Corruption in the oil and gas sector can take many forms, including: * Bribery and extortion * Nepotism and cronyism * Mismanagement of funds * Illegal oil bunkering * Oil theft * Pollution Corruption in the oil and gas sector has a number of negative consequences, including: * Loss of revenue for the government * Increased poverty and inequality * Environmental damage * Social unrest * Political instability The Nigerian government has taken some steps to address corruption in the oil and gas sector, but more needs to be done. The government needs to strengthen its anti-corruption laws and institutions, and it needs to hold those who are corrupt accountable. The government also needs to work with the private sector to develop a more transparent and accountable oil and gas industry. Corruption in the oil and gas sector is a complex problem, but it is one that must be addressed if Nigeria is to develop a more sustainable and equitable future. There are also a number of disadvantages to Nigeria exporting crude oil. One of the main disadvantages is that it leads to a reliance on oil revenue. This means that the Nigerian economy is vulnerable to fluctuations in the global oil price. When the oil price falls, Nigeria's economy suffers. This can lead to job losses, economic hardship, and social unrest. Another disadvantage of exporting crude oil is that it does not lead to the development of other industries. When Nigeria exports crude oil, it does not add value to the product. This means that Nigeria misses out on the opportunity to create jobs and develop other industries. Finally, exporting crude oil can have a negative impact on the environment. The oil industry can pollute the environment, and it can also contribute to climate change. These environmental problems can have a negative impact on the health and well-being of Nigerians like the people of Ogoni in Niger Delta. In conclusion, there are a number of disadvantages to Nigeria exporting crude oil. These disadvantages include a reliance on oil revenue, a lack of economic diversification, and environmental damage. Nigeria should consider diversifying its economy and reducing its reliance on oil exports in order to create a more sustainable and equitable future for its people.

Nice one, good to point out the good and bad bits. Credit to Buhari’s administration for the restructure, although Jonathan’s started the process and authored a lot of tue content. It was interesting to note that most of the probes and investigations were under Jonathan’s administration. However, the one point we need to realise as a nation is a change in culture as a people to that of transparency and accountability in public and private office. The absolute reign of the rule of law would help usher this in, and curb the greed you talk about, as well as competence and productivity.

The Oil & Gas industry in Nigeria is a long and deep saga that would take ages to fix. The Government should focus on utilizing our other (expensive) natural resources that we have to generate revenue and fix the Country's Economic and Social Infrastructures. We want to see Nigeria work in our lifetime please.

An excellent researched. Observation; All attempts to better transparency, always end up worst than the previous. Are we (Nigerians) so insensitivity to the plightof humanity and our Citizens at large? Once again kudos!!!

This is the real state of human nature. In the end if the ppl truly want change, they have to fight for it. Nothing good comes easy.
