Thanks for the overview. I love hiking barefoot but I'm looking for something lightweight to get over gravel sections. I find the sole shape of Xero a bit odd for my foot shape and I'm looking for something with more profile so I might give the Luna a try.

I lived in Israel for a while and used, almost exclusively, Source sandals. We call them "shoresh" (which means "roots"), but the word sounds like Source so thus they are marketed. It is the original hiking sandal, copied by Teva (itself a Hebrew word meaning "nature"); this strappy sandal design was first mass produced from plastic on kibbutzim for young atheist communist farmers in short shorts. I live in Florida now and have used Xero, Earth Runners and a few other brands but nothing beats the longevity of Sources. They take a minute to break in, which Israelis dont have issue with since we wear them everywhere anyways, but once the footbed molds to your arch and you build up callouses from the straps, they are excellent heavy duty sandals. I treat the straps with peppermint oil and a beeswax ointment to combat water retention and its odor, as well as treating the footbed with patchouli oil to keep that part fresh.

I've bought second hand and then new dance jazz or celtic "flats" ( as in actual dance brands like bloch). Super thin, so sadly wear out the soles, but omg I LOVE them for non aggressive trails

I have bedrocks,lunas, and xeros and tevas. Wear the rocks and the xero z trek the most.

The xero aqua cloud would also be great in this list, I have them and love them for all summer activities. Just bought the pathways and have yet to try them, but I want them for a more casual use 😇 I already have the seaside model from feelgrounds and love them. As far as xero z trek...I'm not a fan 🤷 they are a bit long for my foot, the smaller size seems a bit small, so I guess I'm in between sizes, but since I have long toes I can make their aqua cloud model work :)

Hi can you pls suggest sandals (flip flop)for home.i have plantar fasciitis and over pronation

I have the Z-trek I walk and run in them, they are not the widest though, but they are better than the shoes I have the Prios and they are narrow I had to go up a 1/2 size and they are still to narrow.

Have you ever tried Shamma or Toetem sandals? Really curious about those two in particular. I've tried Xero shoes in the past and they were too narrow for my extra wide feet.

I feel like I slip a lot sideways in these sort of shoes, but I'm keen to try

I feel the same, but I’ve been wearing xeros and the little tabs on the sides (where the straps are) really prevent that. They’re small tabs but make my feet feel secure. I have never tried any of the other ones shown on the video though, so I can’t speak for those.

Where do you think bedrock cairn pro sandals fit around the line up?

We’ve tested Bedrocks before and will be again this year! They’re definitely more minimalist than barefoot and not as flexible. But some folks prefer that and they are super durable!

Any tips for keeping the Luna's on my feet? I just got a pair of Origen's and the lace keeps falling off the heel. I get 5-10 steps walking around before I have to stop and adjust the lace at the heel. I get 5-10 steps running before they fly off my feet, I can't seem to find any information online about the optimal way to adjust them to keep them on my feet. I've been wearing home made huaraches for over 10 years and never had this problem.

Adjust the strap on top and around the heal.

How about shammas? I’m looking into the trail master maximus, which has a big toe loop. The advantage is more stability and no sliding compared to toe thong sandals and no thong sandals. Hiking in rain is the test… going uphill and downhill.

I’ve loved my Xero sandals but found that they’re already getting low spots in them. Unfortunately it has caused my feet to rub now and I can’t stand wearing them for long periods of time 😢

Check with Xero. They provide a long warranty so send them in and maybe get a new pair. I just got a pair Xero Genesis and love wearing them around the house and daily walks to the bay but it’s getting cold even here in Fla.

I am kinda bummed I found your channel.. cause I’m gonna spend $160 on these Luna sandals within a month dangit lol. My Teva originals are fine but that crazy Vibram tread has me attention.
