Because getting tackled is basically the same as being in a car crash. Being sacked is often worse because you’re standing relatively still and don’t see them coming. Then extrapolate that out 50+ times a season

Someone pointed out that Joe Burrow has been sacked way more than Andrew Luck was in the amount of games. He & Justin Fields are proving that stat wrong, or at least Fields might once he's traded.

@@choosecarefully408Joe Burrow also didn’t finish 2 of his 4 seasons and had other bad injuries. Luck also had a ruptured spleen, missed the entire season before his last, half a season another, and retired at 29. It definitely wears on you. QB’s who get hit that much more often than not don’t last long or have long productive careers

Many people don't realize that every player that makes it in the pros needed talent AND LUCK to make it. As a QB, you need to be lucky enough to be in the right offensive scheme that showcases your skillset. You need a very good coach who believes in you and sticks with you. You need a solid supporting cast on offense, especially the O line and one or two good receivers. If any of those pieces are missing, even a super talented player can fall through the cracks.

When he signed with Penn State Bill O'Brien was the head coach and they were pretty close from what I understand. When O'Brien left and James Franklin came in, I think they didn't mesh well for whatever reason. When Franklin came to Penn State from Vanderbilt he also brought his Vandy recruit Trace McSorely, who turned out to have an awesome PSU career. I don't know how the dynamics of all of those relationships worked but I know there was tension between Hackenberg and Franklin.

In fairness though, if you’re not good enough to be a back up on the 2010’s jets, it’s says more about the player than the team. He wasn’t any good, and judging by his college numbers, this isn’t a huge shock to anyone.

Can you do a video on Steve Slaton? Running back out of West Virginia...... Should have won a national championship with Pat White and Noel Devine and could have won Heisman... Went on to win Offensive rookie of the year then in a blink of an an eye was out of the league..... Would kill to see this video!

They did that to tayvon and reggie bush. They weren't utilized enough and they were used as decoys and gadget players so much they didn't get a chance to shine... Eventually on the dolphins , Reggie was able to ball because they used him a lot as a RB. And the lions I believe also but no one used them like they did in college by putting them everywhere using them all the time, just getting the ball in their hands as many ways possible. At USC Reggie was even split out wide and killed running routes, he wasn't nearly used enough or the same way in the pros. I chalk that up to a bunch of old guard coaches who knew something was there but wasn't used to and didn't know what to do with those kind of weapons. We now see Tyreek and deebo and aiyuk and others utilized way better and able to make huge impacts

I admire the way he's handled himself. So he's not going be rich, famous, and have millions of adoring fans. There's more to life than endless money and beautiful women sliding into your DM's. Imagine having to wash a whole garage of dream rides, and trying to remember the names of all the ladies in your life...sounds exhausting.
