62 and picked up my first paddle (borrowed) on 1/16 and played the game for the first time ever. Now, own 2 paddles, 4 sleeves (each) of indoor AND outdoor balls, carry bag, shoes, clothing....ya, y'all know!!!

Just went through all of these phases this summer and are now playing Monday and Tuesday nights with our neighbors. In our 40s... definitely addicted!

We have watched the growth of this sport in our neighborhood for a couple of years. Now pickle ball kits are on every wedding registry!

Yep, I'm in stage 6. Sitting here recovering from a hamstring pull and watching every pickleball video on KZread!

People think Pickleball is so easy and they can just go out and do it despite any fitness limitations. It is not true. It requires agility, running, coordination and a friend of mine today just fell and broke his wrist playing pickle ball

I ran into an older lady recently who had a gnarly cast on her wrist and when I asked her about it, she said it was from pickleball. 🤣 Surprisingly better reason than most of my injuries

Haha, so true. I'm a physical therapist at a retirement community where we have one pickle ball court with more on the way. So far, in about a year and a half I have treated at least three broken ankles, two wrists and two broken hips as well as many sprains and strains. Pickle ball is a killer y'all. Lol.

I have seen way more pickleball injuries than tennis injuries, especially fractured wrists, hips and ankles. It's probably a function on the mostly senior crowd playing.

Welcome to the club! I didn't like or understand it when they made us play in middle school (25 years ago) but by the time I reached high school I was diving all over the court having the time of my life. Been too busy to play for a few years, but hopefully I can get back to it this winter.

I think I'm officially at stage 5 after playing 4 times! Last night on Amazon ordering a portable net, a paddle for husband (who I plan to indoctrinate) and an extra set of paddles to bring in the kids and grandkids, too!! All in!

That's exactly where I thought this video was going, as I think we can all attest to being humbled by a senior citizen in pickleball at one point or another haha.

I love the cross over with you two and Charlie Berens. So, so awesome. ❤😊

Our city just converted some volleyball and tennis courts to pickleball courts this past summer, and before they were even finished people were on Facebook making teams and schedules. Crazy!

Some of our good friends installed a pickleball court in their yard 28 years ago, and their kids grew up loving it. Now the grandkids come over and play!

I have Pickleball courts right down the street from me, at the senior center. The place is always PACKED! People bring folding chairs and line up along the fence to watch, and wait their turn! The players are like a CULT! I pulled in the parking lot to answer an important call, and had a cougar approach my car and ask me if I wanted to play with them!! Also, with all the retirees finally buying the vehicle they always wanted, it's like serious car show vibes!

There’s a city open court across the street from me and all I hear morning and night is ‘pock, pock, pock’. I cannot believe the way this has taken off!!! I still have yet to play it myself but it’s probably only a matter of time

I started playing in my neighbor’s driveway as a kid in the 80s. I hadn’t heard much about it after about 1990 but it appears to be back!

Very close. Not so much judgement, a lot more curiosity, and Googling to figure out what they were playing. Then its like buying a new car...we started seeing it everywhere. At a checkup last week our doctor recommended it as something fun to do for exercise. 🤣

I'm a pickleball fanatic, and I would love to hear or see a parody using the "A few good men" theme. You NEED ME ON THAT KITCHEN LINE! WHO'S GOING TO DEFEND AGAINST DROP SHOTS? As a kid on Hilton Head Island we played a very similar game from Israel called "Kadima" on the packed sand beach. It was a blast. But if you missed a volley the ball would roll forever to the point that we had to sprint after it.

Last week I was invited to watch a group trying to get a league started in my town. Everyone was so hyped, it was like the old Hare Krishna/cult people back in the 80's. I met a guy who was on vacation from out of state who drove 30 miles from his vacation rental because he somehow heard there were courts available. He had all this equipment with him.

"Pickleball Y'all" is great! You missed the "humble and awe" stage. Thats where you get your butt kicked over and over and over again by 70+ year olds. "Wait, that guy is 75! That guy that always beats me!" My kids play ... and some of their friends too. My 16 year old son and his best friend from 2nd grade are both quality players. One is a giant and smashes and the other is normal sized and dinks. Both are excellent trash talkers. I want to see Holderness children playing! Family sport!

We just played pickle ball for the first time the other day for an hour and a half and had a blast. We improved so much. When it rains or it’s too hot out,We play with a ping pong ball in the house on wood floors 😂
