What a great journey Toonz! Thanks for brining us along! One thing you need to be aware of it that your building will become a literal oven in the sun. The fact that you have zero insulation and black panels is going to cook everything inside alive. Even if you had different colored skins, I'd still strongly recommend 2"-3" of insulation in the roof to deal with moisture build-up. I build metal buildings for a living so feel free to hit me up if you need any advice.

You're going to want to treat the main garage like a PC case, put in 2 industrial box fans for a push/pull, will make a HUGE difference in temp without running AC.

The building is looking fantastic, when you get to putting the gutters in I would recommend you build in a water collection system. You can use it to water any grass around there or in case of fire or for plumbing to get water to the bathroom and stuff.

I love that you are supporting the little guys, even though I'm sure they will be a massive company in time. Regarding the building, Incorporating stonework into the porch floor would tie it in nicely with the house, and the Mahogany wood is an excellent contrast to the black with sun exposure as it fades over time, it will still look good. However, I feel the doors should be Mahogany like the garage doors.

Just an idea; you might want to run your gutters into a rain catching tank and then one of your bays you can cut out water trenches so you can wash your vehicles indoors. And rain water is easy to filter for drinking water.

I would be interested when all is said and done what the rough cost breakdown was for the garage vs landscaping/site planning vs the house unit etc. Especially with y’all doing this whole project when construction costs are being so wild and to see what quality work runs, with you backing all the subs working on this project. Ive been very invested in this for y’all since day one. I’m in the interiors side, but the entire construction process is still so fascinating ☺️

Man that garage is my dream just about. I'm not a fan of how the garage door came out though, it looked like it was going to have a wood look but the finished product was just like all brown. Also in my opinion I think you should epoxy the floor while it's easy to do and empty. It will really protect the floor and make it super easy to cleanup not to mention avoid stains. Anyway, cant wait to see it all completed it looks so nice.

Cartoonz R value is a measuring system for insulation. The higher the number the better. Then some insulation will have a paper or foil backing which acts like a vapor barrier. If you going to have a climate control space I highly recommend something other than spray foam. I recommend at least R19 for exterior walls and a r11 for inside walls.

I absolutely loved this video! Thank you for all of the information and detail. You mentioned you probably weren't going to epoxy the floors, but I believe medium to long term you will be much happier if you do, especially if you plan to do any maintenance or mechanic work inside the building. Epoxy is highly resistant, greatly increases the strength of the floor, your floor will last much longer, and it'll be easier to keep it looking great. Medium to long term, I believe you'll be glad you did. I love what you're doing with the property. I've not been out there in years. It looks amazing! ✌️😎👍
