I like how you are formatting your 4wd trip videos explaining things about the area along the way rather than just showing the driving constantly. Also it was refreshing to see you try and bypass the mud holes rather than senselessly smashing your vehicles through it. Seems some others in the comments concur too. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼

Love watching your videos. Great to see that you actually care about your vehicles and the tracks not just smashing through big mud holes just to get footage of mud flying everywhere. Appreciate it being more about the journey, the landscape and taking the time and effort to research and educate. Cheers guys great work.

That brings back some memories as it was the first 4wd trip I did with my brother in law. The campgrounds on the SA side are crap imo and the amount of rubbish we saw was disgusting. We had a week around there and the first weekend was a long weekend. There more 4wd's on the track than in a Woolies carpark on a Saturday morning. There were people towing all sorts of things along it as well. I agree with what you said about the humps and bumps and once you've seen 5 minutes of the scenery you've basically seen it all imo. We stayed at the Red Bluff campground which was free and much better than the SA camps and then went back along the track to the Bordertown-Murrayville road and back up to the Big Billy bore campground. This campground is so good and we will definitely be going back to look around. At the Murrayville end of that road there is a paddock with some WW2 era tanks which I really enjoyed having a look at. Yep those bogholes at the end are a complete pia and we saw a whole plastic undertray laying where it had been ripped off. There is a rumour that some of those bogholes are actually bottomless. Bit of a long post but maybe others may get some use from it if they are up/down that way. Thanks for the video.

Love the video. I did the same trip on the June long weekend. It was a bit too busy for me. The section between Firebreak Trk and Red Bluff was pretty slow, with a couple of convoys in front of us. I’m a big fan of the Big Desert, we are heading back at the end of August on a random non-long weekend for another run, hopefully without any slow vehicles. A great campsite near the start of the track is Coburn Pines on the Victorian side. Great campsite.

Great video guys. I was involved with the putting up of the trig tower many years ago. The murray bridge 4x4 club played a bit part keeping the border track open probably 25 years ago when a complete shut down was proposed due to lack of resources from the government at the time. We adopted the track and did many working bees down there to keep it open. Later on the sa 4x4 association became involved and now we have what we have today. Can remember going down the track one Easter 25 years ago and only seeing 4 other vehicles. The track was also both ways back then. Cheers for the memories

Was out there a day or two before you judging by your Instagram stories. We got up to Pinnaroo from Adelaide and started the track by about 12:30pm. I think doing the whole track in 1 day would be a bit of a slog- we camped at Red Bluff a little over half way. Nice to give your spine a rest after all the whoops. Could tell you were getting a bit over it by the lack of filming through the muddy parts in the agricultural section haha. I want to head back and do it when it's a touch warmer and the sand isn't so firm- I think it'd be more fun if you actually could carry some speed up more of the dunes rather than slowly climbing everything.
