The 4th mistake is so true. Whenever I meet a guy who say "lets go with the flow" or "Im looking for something casual" I don't bother to waste my time. I stand on what I want, a relationship leading to marriage and I always let the man know. I don't do casual and I'm not going to change my mind. I’ll share this little story of mine. I was on my way home one night, it was dusk dark and I had picked up my youngest from the sitter. I was leaving a semi formal event, so, I had on 6 inch heels, something that I don’t do often. I needed gas so I stopped at the corner gas station. I paid for my gas and noticed three very attractive young men, looking hungry, lol. My daughter was in the car, so I walked quickly out of the store and to my car? I could hear the three sets of feet behind me, I walked faster, lol. A very athletic young man made it to my car, before the others. He apologized for the chase, but not for the run, to get to me first. He said my name is “” and I would love to get to know you better. He then said I am an athlete and a champion in my field. That explained his body. He proceeded to give me everybody he knew’s phone numbers, I chuckled, HE WAS ON A BICYCLE!! But, I was not going to count him out, after all the bike, was the only reason he made it to me first. Black men are very respectful to each other, because he got their first, the others, stood back and eventually walked away. I tell you this story, because those three men, saw my confidence! But, I didn’t wait for any of them to catch up with me. The guy in the best shape, and maybe the hungriest, won the race. Now, this man respected me. He invited me to see him do his sport. Yes, I was impressed. He loved movies, and asked if he could cook me dinner. The brother could COOK TOO! 😂Perfect gentlemen, polite and he did not move too fast! Like most guys he liked the blood and gore movies and laughed out loud at me when I covered my eyes and jumped at those scenes that shocked me, lol. But, I digress. After about a month of just hanging out, he knew what I did for a living and I knew what he did. We liked each other. So, he said to me, “where do you want to see this go? I jokingly said what are you looking for? He said I want you on my arm when I have an event, and I’d like to escort you, if you will allow me to, when you need a date. I nodded, yes, and we left it there. What I heard, was he liked the way I looked and enjoyed my company. But, he wasn’t looking for anything else. So, I put my heart on lockdown. We are good friends who enjoy each other’s company. He had two friends, their relationship was a tirade. It was not going to be easy to be a part of his life, unless I signed up for the two friends, if you hear me... to hear the rest of the story, you’ll have to buy the book. But, I can tell you that he kept me at arms length, but, he forgot to take his own advice. He left town to start a career. I wished him my best. He called when his training was over, and said you are the only reason I would come back to “. “ ? Do you want me to come back? No, don’t come back for me. I was thinking he could have a fresh start, in a different environment and that would be good for him.When you set the bar in a relationship make sure you let the other person know, when you change your mind.

Starting at 27:21 you described my husband. He neglected me FOR MORE THAN 6 YEARS. I never thought to play games. Instead, I talked to him. Constantly made my feelings known. Begged for him to treat me better. Finally, I became indifferent during year 8 of neglecting me. I realized that he is not the right person for me. It took me being so hurt, second guessing myself, blaming myself and still cookin and serving and being the best wife I could be but he still did nothing to make me convinced that he appreciated me and valued me. Buying things occassionally or "paying most of the bills" (as he put it) does not make up for the neglectfulness and indifference he showed me. So now, I am moving on. I think we are better off as friends anyway. He now understands and has apologized for neglecting me for so long. However, once I have been hurt to this degree (also due to his volatility and verbally abusive nature when he gets angry), there is no way I can see myself loving him like I used to before he hurt me. I am just only able to be a friendly co-parent with him. Stephan's point in this video is spot on. I am just sorry I subjected myself to so much hurtful behavior for so long.

Not showing a man you are hurt after they pull away.. some men want a reaction out of you. Most men and women have very unhealthy dating habits. I have come across alot of men who try to squeeze emotion out of me by doing things that they feel will trigger a unhealthy response because most men view that unhealthy response as love or feelings, period. I don't have erratic responses. If you dont call me back Im not the type to spaz out. I have buisnesses to run Ive always been busy, its hard to take people serious because of the intentional mind games that people play. If we say we Love God, and we understand that when we Truly Love Him, we will keep His commandments, we must realize, if a man wants a Christian woman, he will respect her and not open her precious gift, without marrying her! Often when a man begs to have sex, we feel sorry for them because their compassion runs so deep, and sex is very important to a sexually active man. We do not go into a relationship, to be used! Too often we find ourself in this maladaptive cycle cycle. Which makes us believe he really really loves us and we are doing something for him because he loves us so much. Of course he’s going to marry me, he loves me! But many times he does not love you, he just lust after you. He wants you physically and because this is the way he has lived his life or his adult life, you get pulled into the cycle! He will love you, or love on you for as long as you will allow him to, but the one he’s chasing is usually the one he can’t get! Pray about it!

So, there you are feeling hurt and baffled about what is, or what went wrong with, this great man? When he is ready to “hook-up” (with you) he will come back, apologizing for his previous behavior and pretending to have missed you, so much! Everything in your good conscience, says RUN! AND DON’T LOOK BACK! But, maybe he is telling you the truth...., So, you give him another chance! Now he is really going to put a little time in, so you think you made the right decision! But, low and behold, he disappears again, or starts a fake argument. The reason is that he met someone else, that he wants to try on for size...., he’ll be back, with a “Baby, it’s me, I’m so sorry, I just can’t believe I have found such a beautiful woman like/as you.”😮 He is a “player” and will continue to treat you like the side chick🐣. Never treat a date, like he is your husband! Don’t allow him to use you and then throw you away! You have to value yourself, if you want him to value you! .....stay safe, enjoy your life.

Healing is very important. I dont want a man to chase me and I am not about to chase a man. All that chasing is like a cat and mouse game. That is to much time and energy wasting. I agree with you when you talk about lust and love. Lusting just leads to a headache and heartbreak. Love leads to happiness and forever. Thank you Stephan for all your videos and books. I have did, have done all 4 secrets and more and men will still play games, tests and tricks. No I'm not going to tell a man how I feel when he pulls away, he pulled away for his reasons and it's cool and I'll keep it moving with my life. I don't internalize what other people do. I been told by my exs oh I'm too nice, I'm too good, blah blah blah from them. So being a great, good woman a man will mistreat me. When I show interest in a man he ghost. So I don't have the time and energy to waste on men with mind games and other stuff. Why I love myself and living my best life.

My goodness Stephan... I felt like you were talking DIRECTLY to me!! So specific, so detailed, like you were in my conversations this past week. Thank you!! That was the answer and confirmation I needed on soooooo many levels.

It’s even easier. Greet him at the door. Thank him for going to war all day at work for you. Then, 5-10 minutes a day, do something for him that he loves, even if you don’t get anything out of it.

This is so true. I didn’t allow him to chase me but he presented it to everyone like he had ‘won’ me. Unfortunately I ended up marrying him thinking he was a great guy. It turns out he’s a player who chases women for an ego boost.

I think chasing is important. If he doesn't chase he's not that interested in you. You have to create the bond with a man while they are in the chase. U have to peak his interest by getting him to chase in the beginning of the relationship. U have to drive up his interest by letting him chase you a little but don't sleep with him until he has committed to being your boyfriend in a committed relationship if not he will pull away

I would stay away from the word “chase” and move towards the word “pursue”. Chasing is more out of obsession and list, pursuing a woman, showing effort is more out of love and genuine interest.

I agree confidence is key. I recently met a great guy he said to me ‘Kimberly, you’re beautiful and I can tell you’re a very special woman’ to which I replied ‘ I couldn’t agree more, I see no lies here sir!’ lol.. when you tap in to who you are and couple that with prayer, supporting him, being his biggest fan and handling your business ( i.e. bringing something to the table)he’s not going anywhere!

I originally started watching your videos to get a better understanding of men. There is a guy and I wanted to deal with him differently than I do the others. In the midst of that, I’ve received validation and confirmation on some things I’m already doing and has learned so much more! Thank you for these videos that I didn’t know I needed. #Blessings

I know when something is genuine, and this advice is genuinely good advice. I have found myself listening to various relationship coach and so far this is the best that I have heard. I like the work that you are doing in empowering women to make healthier choices when it comes to relationships. God bless and continue the good work.

Something as simple as highlights in your hair can add so much softness to you ladies. I have locs and although I love natural hair they made me feel a little hard looking...my best friend suggested color..going from black to brown with highlights made them look so feminine and even took some years off my face:) small things matter.

The interest part is true. Growing up relationships were discouraged for me, so everytime I see a guy come too close I shut down and become defensive. I realized that I made this a habit. Now, each time a guy I may like comes I have to retrain myself.

I had to read the title of this video a few times because it didn’t sound like a typical Stephan message. But once I listened, as always, absolute words of wisdom! Thank you! Your talks help give me the confidence to keep stepping and not to compromise. 🙌

I had been rejected from my own biological mother from the womb and was married to a military man for 20 y he died two years ago was abused and every level of my life now I am an a distance relationship we’re the guy also is distance from myself! i told him how i felt, not in a loving manner and never allowed him back in my life. it wasnt the first time he did it.

I have come across your videos several times but I never truly log in to watch. But today I believe God led me purposefully listen to this video and another one on if he is really your soul mate. Amazing, yet simple food 4 thought. As a female who's been traumatized by relationships, I get nervous when a man comes on too strong or pushy. When we like someone, wherever the attention goes, it flows! If i like someone I don't want the evening or date to end. Who likes the uneasy feeling of wondering when or how you'll hear from them again. Luv the real, Brother!

Sweetheart, when a man is interested, he will chase and work hard for what he really wants! Don’t allow your dreamer to become infactuated over a man that has not committed himself to you! Most of the time men want the challenge! They want that woman/girl that a hundred men in the room wish was theirs! Let her be educated and smart! Jackpot! Be a woman that Loves God, and a woman that he can always trust.But, ask God if he is yours? Is he the one for you? When God answers, believe it!

Unhealthy men ( boys) will chase after the easy ones who give it away for free so they don’t have to settle down and they can choose from many that are throwing themselves at them. Toxic. Unhealthy. Love yourself first and you will attract the RIGHT high quality man for you! You will know which one it is when they come into your life! He will be the one who is always interested in you, wants to do things for you, and with you, wants to communicate and won’t rush you into anything you don’t want to do. Things will come easy between you. Now There are players out there, yes, so the best thing is to observe and get to know them for a good while before you fully commit yourself to them, if your gut feeling is screaming at you but you don’t know why, that’s your intuition...trust in it. Your intuition will pick up on the red flags before you realize it, especially when you LOVE YOURSELF FIRST! Set your boundaries and stand by them, know your worth and be yourself! You attract what you put out. Taking care of yourself shows that you value yourself! Those that are in same vibration as you are will be coming in. If you feel that they aren’t the one for you then don’t be afraid to let them know that you only want to be friends because you don’t fell like it’s going to work, be truthful and communicate properly. Raise your vibration to better yourself and bring more value to yourself , it will be noticed! You will draw attention without even trying to. Don’t force it.

Great video! I can see, looking back and on to where I am now, how I have made nearly all those mistakes and have been toxic. Closed off and playing games. I am learning and growing now though. Finding my path and living my truth. Life has become much more exciting. I love it all. Fantastic teaching! Keep that light coming! ❤❤❤

You're absolutely right!

My ex really loved me and I did too. I had many walls up because of my childhood experiences where my father was abusive to my mother. My mother brought me up basically programming me that marriage ain't any good and men are bad. So I only allowed myself to be friends with my ex. But after a few years, I couldn't take it and told him yes to being his girlfriend. I behaved very clingy, needy and overbearing in the relationship as I was afraid he doesn't want me. He shut down. I was caught up in my anxiety rather than being happy with him. He's now with another woman who he claims treats him better(according to his post) Which I'm sure he put up out of hurt. The chasing really hurt him because I was his first love. I'm now really sad for what I did and to think I've lost him but I've learnt alot. I'm in no contact because I obviously can't talk to him when he's with another woman. It's been 26 days since I told him I love him but I respect his decision.

Omg! I’m glad to be able to watched this video. He’s just not much invested on me. Only texting, for nearly 6 months. Never call, not even bother to know where I stay. He doesn’t plans things ahead to spend time with me. When things go wrong, he will find all the excuses that I overthink and that I turned things into unhappy situation. He will blamed it was my fault. Even we talked things out, the situation never improve.

#2 is definitely up to the guy u want. Because any guy who ever loved me, loved me bc I knew how to speak up. And I wasn’t a yes woman. I will tell u when you’re wrong. They liked my tough side more than my femininity.

Thank you for sharing all the honesty and it’s absolutely waking me up and starting to put more thoughts and clarity to all my decisions.
