Absolutely love this approach using the 4 levels from easy to advanced. It is SO much easier to grasp and SO much faster to learn. Now subbed!

Great lesson. Another great way to get to the IV chord is to proceed it Bm7, E9, then to Eb9. Also a fun turnaround to try: Bb13 Dbmaj7 GbMaj7 Bmaj7

i always grab dom7 chords with a barre....hence i have to pluck the strings finger style in order to not hit the 4th... but i much prefer the strummed sound to fingerpicked one... it feels so unnatural to grab dom7 chords in a conventional manner.... should i just learn to add the fifth to the barre form or should i apply myself and learn the conventional way of playing it ?

Try to play the chords as shown in the video (typical fingerings for jazz guitarists). If you play with the pick, try to mute the open strings with the finger of your left hand.

@@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar you deserve this great guitar. I began watchind your videolessons when you played a Gibson custom es (137?). Could you give me an opinion on the Duesenberg Double cat? Thanks.

The Duesenberg Double Cat is a very special guitar, I've changed the pickups to get a more jazzy tone, it's not really a jazz guitar, but I love the design. It's perfect for chords and funky, bluesy solos.
