I also have a 32gb iPod Touch 4G but on iOS 6.1.6, those iPod Touches are very hard to repair as well, since there are the battery connector and power and volume flex cables that can break easily.
4:00 You cannot restore an iPhone 4 to iOS 7 with an iMac G4 anyways. You can boot your Mac into a macOS install disc, enter Disk Utility, erase your Mac’s disk, then reinstall macOS.
