I have a challenge for you, I live on a boat and run my home off large lithium house batteries. I get 240v main ac from an inverter, so basically house power from a battery. Is it possible to build a gaming pc to be as low power consumption as possible? Maybe a niche idea, but it would be awesome to be able to game off grid. Cheers, love the vids!

It’s been a while since i’ve seen such an amazingly done video. And such a great guy behind it.
These are the videos that got me into PC gaming. Although I today I run a much more sophisticated setup/rig the ego/confidence takes less of a hit when as noob you fry your very frst attempt, as apposed to destroying something that you saved up for and worked hard to get. Thank you for these videos since they serve as a reminder as to one of the biggest reasons/selling points of why it is referred to as the master race for gaming, and that is THE VERSATILITY that serves almost any gamers budget. It is why I decided to DIY my PC, because it feels good to beat the market at a budget for better performance than councils. P.S The effort in video production does not go unnoticed nor unappreciated... great job.
Brother your face of happiness with the pc is the most real expression that I have seen lately. I support you bro, I also live that happiness by reviving old PC's or making cheap assemblies. Big hug!!!! Greetings from Uruguay

One of the best budget builds videos I've seen in this difficult market. Instead of going for the cheapest system possible or pushing the budget to accommodate all brand new hardware, you made reasonable compromises, and your system for choosing an affordable graphics card is great. Something which just steps into DX12 territory with enough memory and GPU power to play any modern game at 1080p and low settings. This video reminds me of when I first got into PC gaming and I would try to make a build that provided decent 1080p performance, usually under $500. It was so fun trying to get all the parts and putting them together and firing the system up for the first time for everything to (hopefully) boot up. It was an excitement when it would. Between the insane pricing of the current market and my mentality where I felt like I needed to have the best (or close to it) in order to play and enjoy the games, somewhere that joy has been lost. This video brought it back. Thanks.

This video is so wholesome feeling. It reminds me of my dad's story of building his first PC when they first came out. He asked my grandfather for a computer, and my grandfather bought him a single component. He had to figure it out and pay for all the components himself. Now I'm doing the same thing. Amazing build for the times. You're right that Athlon has been forgotten. That machine is beautiful too.
@SeeJayPlayGames
2 жыл бұрын
(Sorry this is post got a little long...) There are reasons it was forgotten. First off, it came out in 2017, when the first gen Ryzens were released with their surrounding hype, so it was kind of unnoticed at launch, really. Like "RYZEN IS OUT!!! NEW ARCHITECTURE!!! SUCK IT INTEL!!! (...btw we also released yet another Athlon X4.)" By comparison, it is basically akin to a Celeron or maybe I should say Duron. But no, that's a bad comparison. Those are the same architecture, cut down. This is more like Pentium D vs. Core 2. Totally different architectures, but same socket. Yes, it's a quad-core, but... it's built on the last iteration of the previous generation architecture internally; old silicon design refitted for the new (at the time) AM4 socket. It lacks L3 cache. This processor doesn't compete with mid-range Intel silicon from 3 years prior. My Core i5-4590 demolishes it in most benchmarks. After looking up the relative performance numbers, I was thinking this thing would be a downgrade for me, CPU-wise. And yeah, anything up to and including the R5 1600 would be lesser (the i5-4590 is a BEAST for its age). But the upside is, the video performance could make up for it if I got the right card. Not hard to beat intel HD4600 or (as I have installed in my rig) a GT1030. I have to say, my current rig isn't very balanced. It's very GPU-limited. So there is that. This AMD rig is a better upgrade path overall, because this is the ground floor, not the level below the penthouse. You can put a (much) better CPU in the motherboard and as long as you buy DDR4-3200 memory, you're as future-proofed as it gets in this business. This will go all the way to 3rd gen Ryzen 9. Later chips might need a motherboard upgrade, but that's better than my Optiplex allows. With my SFF case, good luck with that. There are hardly any better CPUs (like i7-4770 - not worth it, really - HT increases performance MARGINALLY if at all), memory only goes to 16GB (that's where Oz' system STARTS, and it's DDR4)... with Oz' build I wouldn't be constrained by this little SFF case; I could use whatever GPU and not worry about if it will fit. Ultimately, with the Optiplex I'd have to replace the whole thing to go "better". It is what it is and that's OK. It did its job well for me for over 2 years, and is still running fine. But maybe it's time to start thinking about relegating it to a secondary status, or gifting it to someone who doesn't even have a computer. And this video gave me a road map to start a new rig from a much lower price point than I've seen in months. Glad I found this channel. Liked and subscribed! P.S. I noticed there were two links for case options but neither of them resembled the front panel design of the one in the video. (???) That's okay, the links took me to perfectly adequate, attractive and budget-friendly case options, but still... I kind of like the look of the case in the video.

This guy is so chill, loved his vibes
this is a great option for an entry level thank you! because i went from this to a ryzen 5 5600x and a 3080 ti
Honestly, if you can get any cpu that's 4 cores and/or multithreaded for less than $50, that's a great deal. The motherboard though, is something that someone has to research before they buy a cpu because that completely ruins some builds when there are no motherboards available for cheap.

I dont know about that. Youre probably stuck with sataII and PCI 2.0 if you go with a first gen i7 or something.
Everything takes research.. timing.. and so much more than most are willing to do. Sigh. Thankfully people get to share your work Oz. God bless you and yours. Thanks for your time and effort and work.
Great video. I want to upgrade my GTX1060 for a long time but card prices the last years were nutty and I wasn't willing to pay for that. And even though the prices have fallen a lot they still are not even at MRSP level for the 3000 series. They should be actually way below that right now.
The music is low key perfect for this video!
You do such great research into all of your components and get the best bang for the buck while ensuring compatibility. This is a killer budget build with upgradability, well done!
This is an actual budget PC. Thank you. Most KZreadrs will be like.... "It's a budget PC!" Then they spend 600-700$ on the PC.

Well produced video, good job!
I hope I've seen this sooner, very awesome video! Perfect for me as a student with very tight budget 😁
I love this build and the fact it can hit 60 FPS 95% of the time is amazing and I bet running games at 900p will make games always get the consistent frame rate.
