This is an excellent video and an excellent approach. Teaching words as co-occuring groups is a very efficient way of teaching and learning. I have been wanting to learn Arabic for 51 years, but was always too busy. You are providing a wonderful way to start things off.

I'm seriously bloody impressed. This might be the most elegant introductory lesson to any language I've ever seen. I spent three hours taking notes. 30 min video, three hours worth of study. Impressive. Vocabulary Pronouns Verb conjugation Present continuous Simple present Pronunciation Franco Interrogative voice Killer lesson 👌

It is an informal way to express the difficult to pronounce letters (the letters that doesn't have an equivalent in english) when someone doesn't use the arabic keyboard for any reason, this system is know as "Chat alphabet". The numbers are similar in shape to letters. Example : 7= ح 3= ع 4=ذ and so on

"Sugar cane" in American English. As Mahmoud says, it's popular wherever you go in Cairo. Rendering cane juice requires a crazy industrial juicing machine, so it might not be widely available outside Egypt. I don't see it here in NYC. By the way, Mahmoud, your videos are just superb: methodical, clear, efficient -- perfect for the youtube modality. I am so grateful. Congratulations on creating this channel and shokran for your work.

We say eating soup in English our soup has meat vegetables that has to be chewed but even if it is all liquid we hardly ever hear a person interchangeably using eating and drinking when it comes to soup, I guess it's understood. The only problem I have with Egyptian Arabic if someone is using a word that begins with qaf you all change it to Alif and the word is different from what you learned in Fushaa, so I assume the only way to know the words is to familiarize the way you say words. Can you do a lesson on words that begins with Qaf or has a qaf in the word so we can hear you pronounce it and use it in a sentence. I had more trouble understanding Egyptian Arabic than I thought because we were not told these nuances in learning fushaa.

Everything is the same on every Egyptian channel if People just search them. Man... I don't believe the Egyptian tutors on KZread are really teachers, they're just that. Tutor's that are just trying to make money and learn little small basics as they go. Thinking of things on the go just to post on youtube without giving an in depth reasoning behind it. Everyone in Egyptian Arabic, teaches, sentences, phrases, words, some basic grammar like verb conjugations, to be, days of the week, and a few more other things that are just basic or top 10 Egyptian verbs, or top 20 Egyptian sentences. No one is actually teaching Egyptian Arabic, Arabic. Like In a sentence, what comes First. The noun, the adjective, the Taamabuttah which is Feminine and how to use it, the Alif Lam لا together and how to use it. And etc. But there is not one person who teaches what this one lady teaches "Arabic Katawaat KZread channel". She is the only person i see on youtube that's pretty much teaching in steps and with detailed plans... Well her and other MSA TEACHERS. Peope want to learn Egyptian Arabic but there is not one Egyptian on youtube teaching the grammar in it's respective place. in steps and in plans. They're simply going of the notion that all people just want to speak the language only Again, i found myself going to her to figure what comes First, second, third and onward in a sentence. She's teaching MSA Read, written and speaking Arabic. Whether or not mot someone wants to live in Egypt at least they(Egyptian tutors) could do is stand out from each other but no! They're all the same. No one is a teacher, nor can they call themselves a teacher but only tutor's.. I don't mean to sound mean but if all I'm seeing is this then why should i spend my money when all i need to do is just search every Egyptian tutor on KZread and just take a phrase from him, a sentence from her, and day of the month from this guy, and a verb conjugation from that guy and piece it all together Because no one is going to teach the actual structure of the sentence. At this point it's just best to grab a little something from everyone, take that and then get on italki and just talk to someone and get corrected on my pronunciation. But not one Egyptian KZreadr is teaching in it's full entirety the actual Arabic Egyptian language in it's full sentence structure. At least teach me how the language is formed and how it works. I want to know the structure of it in it's deepness not everyone just wants to speak the Egyptian Arabic they want to know how to read, write and speak it as well. Come on man, change up your teaching tactics.
