NBA live it's funny as hell those are the same people who make Madden so that's not going to give 2k a bit of competition at all it's not going to happen have you even seen the Madden 23 gameplay glitches a company who can't fix their own football game isn't going to magically make a basketball game that can rival 2k it's just not going to happen so just use your brain

My theory is that 2k made the shooting green only this year is because they want you to think your build is trash just so you are forced to make new ones which will require you to buy vc

Us as players and creators need to come together and the only way to get the “owners” attention is a lockout. Set a date get a bunch of creators together to spread the word and have people refuse to get on the game until the higher ups in 2k address the issue.

exactly.boycott 2k24. we got 1 year to get everyone on board. i love kobe, and they are going to hype it up next year, but we must resist. i bought 2k22 because they shut 2k20 servers down on my career. 2k22 has a worse my career than 2k20. the game got worse and yet i paid for it(not full price...never that). i am boycotting 2k23 based on the vc issue(requires more vc for upgrades), no build player up, weak story/butt of all jokes, cpu cheating(locked in animations, facing wrong way, ball going through hands to opponent), heard eras is cool, but a filter basically and that a lot of in game stuff for that mode wasn't fixed, the fact you lose teammate grade as time passes(like you can go from an A- to B+ just dribbling the ball up court, and a few other reasons.

This man is speaking nothing but facts. I personally have been playing 2k since 2k16 and i buy 2k every other year to see what has changed. This year 2k has changed, normally I grind my player out but this year was the first year I actually had to buy vc. Normally I take pride in grinding my player but this year it’s almost impossible to do that now with no reward for my career. It’s sad that 2k is moving in the wrong direction year after year.

Its honestly sad, if you didnt buy vc, it would take your normal, regular-schedule person MONTHS to get 99 overall with badges; and thats IF you plan on having no social life on your free time. Each mycareer game is atleast 15 mins and pays around 1k vc. Its 230k just to get 90! Youd have to comeplete like 4 SEASONS JUST TO GET 90 OVERALL! Your player is so bad he’s basically unsuabpe until about 80 overall. Who has fun playing with a 65 overall? Idk how much time 2k thinks we have on our hands, but some of us work and some of us are in school. Theyve officially gone off the deep end.

How’d he come to that conclusion when 2k was pressured into lowering VC prices in 2k18 too. Ik I’m not the only one who remembers 1k VC haircuts you couldn’t even Preview Lmaooo. Saying he’s not gonna address is cause take 2 wants to make money is a cop out and it’s wild he’s acting intentionally ignorant as if the creators platform can’t be used as leverage against a company. Good on you for speaking out. I think what a lot of content creators aren’t realizing is that the more people that speak out the more likely other companies will take notice that there IS a market for a competitor to 2K and that increases the Luther another game will come which in turn will make things better. Monopolies only come down when competitors realize they can make inroads into the market. But if they never hear that people are dissatisfied with existing products…then they aren’t likely to see an opportunity for themselves to insert themselves into that market space

@@Jsuav huh? It's about 300k vc to get to 92, starting off at 60 you're only option is mycareer. With incentives and so on you'll get around 1k per game, with pro on 5 min quarters. So not 2 hours but more like 100+.

nba player has to play 2 nba games to be able to afford adidas superstars lmaooooooooo. get rid of vc and just assign set attribute points. make nba 2k about skill, not who has the most vc or upgraded player. skill levels will be based on win percentage and certain stats like no turnovers and high fg percentages. make cosmetics purchasable with real money, not vc. another youtuber put out a video saying put cars and mansions in the game and make you pay for these cosmetics with real money. u know how much they can make with those? like a mansion equivalent to $20 in game purchase. cars worth say $5.00 or $10 for the lambo. people will eat that up.

And practiced every day until my badges were maxed. Its a grind without money. Basically a year to get to 99. No streetball played.

@@seansmith4311 creators with a platform that can actually draw negative attention to what’s going wrong. To put things in perspective, look at how quickly everything fell apart for EA in the newest battlefield, everyone was extremely hyped and the game was doing great until the community began voicing issues they had that were never addressed until it was too late, the game came and died within months from the community pressuring the company to be more consumer friendly. If 2k has no pressure to be more consumer friendly it’s they’re literally gonna keep pushing the limit to see just how much they can get away with 😂. They know it’s expensive as hell to upgrade players but if no one with any kind of platform or INFLUENCE says anything they basically have a license to print money 😂

In Canada it costs $100 for the standard edition and $135 for 450K VC. $235 total. divide that by 12 is roughly $20/month to play My Career. I think they are taking advantage of us.. no way this game costs more to make than netflix' costs to produce movies and shit.

Because the game is literally unplayable without buying any VC. It's so suicidally boring and trash to play offline, let alone online, with a 60-75 overall build, which is at least for the first few weeks if you don't buy any VC. 20 bucks 75k VC is the very minimum you have to buy every year at the start to make the game playable or otherwise you might as well not buy the game at all. The whole concept is unbelievably twisted, which is a shame since I really enjoy playing 2k when my player is good enough

Actually I’m like 80% wrong there. Nothing is impossible, Take2 can hear our voices.

I went back to old 2k videos from nba 2k15 and you can upgrade your player by a category instead of individual upgrades. Like you could upgrade box out, offensive and defensive rebound at the same time with a single upgrade but now you have to upgrade those things individually and they cost more vc too. Like to upgrade just one attribute like defensive rebound it could cost you over 20k vc or more

The only thing that came close to being in comp with 2k is that one nba live beta for a month during the 2k 17-18 era😭

There is absolutely no legitimate reason why this is still a paid game (I know there's a reason, just not a valid one). Fortnite went to war with Apple just to lower its prices, and they're still making bank.

I'm going to say this be careful how you spend your money don't go out and buy the $100 version of nba2K and you know you're going to need the money afterwards building your character that's all I got to say

only way vc prices change is if they lose players. They do the bare minimum to keep people happy (this game is good ngl) then when and if their sales dip they will drop something that will get people to play again

I'll give it so far a 7/10 a fun 2k game in terms of the offline stuff including the my eras mode. Yes it still not perfect nor the best 2k ever made but it's a step in the right direction this year so far. So 2k23 is fun and grinding in mycareer is good enough.

Joe Knows has a good point. This isn't a problem 1 person can fix, yeah its good to raise awareness but 2ks scummy and greedy practices stem all back all the way to what 2k13-14? This isn't anything new. The best way to make an impact is speaking with your wallets, personally haven't bought a 2k myself since 2014. But knowing the kind of individuals the 2k community caters to, it's a lost cause.

Great video man. We (the 2k community) have to be careful who gets put on a pedestal. You can absolutely criticize the game when you purchase it and if enough people speak out Take 2 may change their mind or even better like overseas the government may intervene. Let a government employees child rack up the credit card bill on vc without them knowing lol. It would have been better for JoeKnows to just say I don’t want to piss anyone off.

2K should implement “Build Packs”… a pack that comes with 3 builds that start off at 85 overall at $20-$30 price range. They don’t have to lessen the VC prices, but at least give us multiple builds that are already somewhat playable without adding VC. They marketed the secret builds so much this last week and this would’ve made a killing for 2k. That’s just me thinking about business, but we need OPTIONS. One build for $100 is insane… I don’t want to invest no more than $200 dollars for a game and giving us more playable builds is a reasonable idea

My one question is, when my 99 strength build gets nerfed, why am I forced to spend money again? It’ll take ages to rebuild and earn VC through the game. The whole upgrading multiple builds with money -system is absolutely fucked. They should either keep pay-to-win VC and just let you make one build and edit it as much as you want, or remove VC completely or at least make it like 20% of the price it currently is. Casual players can hardly max out a single build this year even with buying some VC. On FIFA there is no way to use money to upgrade your player, and there is only one "build", of which position, height, weight, attributes, appearence, animations etc. you can edit as much as you want for free. 2k should take note

What 2k could do is make earning vc thru my career easier and larger back in the day in 17 those off days used to give you BANK I think it was at least 10k and more for just a event if they just add more ways too get vc then things would be better but even so this year upgrading is insane and then you got clothing like the crocs cost 12k-15k that’s more than custom shoes 😭

Last year was fine. The quests earned you ridiculous amount of money and I was able to get to 99 no problem for one of the first time in many years. This year is a completely different story.

For that exact reason is why I don't play online I just stick to offline shit create my own league and then start a fantasy draft. I play to get a simulation of the NBA not a park game

My biggest question when it comes to game devs creating such inflated economies in their games is: Wouldn’t it make more sense to lower the cost of purchased vc?? It would be more affordable, which in my mind means more people buying vc, and that turns into more profit for 2k plus a boost in their reputation. Having to spend hundreds of dollars to fully max ONE player (not including all the clothes they promote you to buy) just makes them look extremely greedy and might hurt their player count/profit.

Exactly why I'm not getting this year's 2k. It's not that I don't have the money because I definitely do. It's that I'm tired of feeling like I am being robbed out my money. Bro you buy the game which is already $70 and then ya have to turn around and spend another $50 -$100 just on one player! Nah bump that. Then on top of that, what if you mess up on your player? I never buy VC. I haven't bought VC since the $5 I spent on VC on 2k16. Over the years 3 weeks would be good enough with adequate play time to get a player to a mid 80 to 90. With in game rewarded VC, 2ktv VC, and daily NBA game VC but they have severely reduced the I'm game rewards this year. The example of the quest to only get 600 VC is a perfect example. I would never tell someone to buy VC and always tell people it's pointless to buy VC but this year it's bad. I'm finally glad the community is finally talking up but more need to. It's too many people that are willing to "pay to win" that won't stop 2k from this..

2k23 taught me to never pre order or buy 2k on the first day again

its already got me turned off when i cant make a layup wide open...or when i fill my bar and its slightly late or slightly early wide open and it misses everytime...i can understand not every shot going in but when i only put up wide open shots and going 1/12 in career games its just beyond unplayable for me as a shooter...im not very good at the game ill be honest but when i release my shot and its in the green window wide open and it doesnt go in thats just beyond fucked if u ask me

It's not the cost of vc, its the cost of how much vc being used to upgrade a player, if they lower how much vc you need to max out a player it would much better, should be like 150k vc to max out or close to maxing out a player

The thing is, in previous 2Ks you just need 180-200k to max out your build (86 overall) but this year it doesn't let you MAX your build, like your vitals (speed, vertical..etc) are still going to be barely upgraded which seriously affects your players ability. In previous 2Ks your vitals scaled with your overall, for example if you were 80 overall your vitals would be 80ish, 70 overall, 70ish..etc. It's so stupid this year...

I stg 2K made a good game & in return they want mfs to pockets to suffer, it’s literally impossible grinding 60 to 99 this year. Im making prolly 2 more builds ts outrageous

EXACTLY why I didnt buy the game for the past 3 years. VC micro transactions and how bad this game is just turns me off while in FIFA, you just have to play the game to get good. After like 150 games, your player is maxed out and you can do whatever you want on the field. Its just so much better. NBA 2K is just a game of who has the better animations and who has the better badges. THATS IT. DO NOT BUY 2K!

I made my build and when I saw how much VC it was to get him to an 85 I immediately closed out of MyCareer and went straight back to MyTeam. I usually build at least one player a year. Not this year, they priced me out. 50 dollars a build was unacceptable. 100+ dollars a build is completely outrageous

Facts! Y’all remember on 2k22 you could make hella money from the fashion and music quests now I just completed the fashion and only got paid the 2500 they make all the missions ones quest/payment so all that for 2500 vc

I've seen people say 2K changed the prices for VC on release day, The people who said that were playing on New Zealand servers, when you change the region on your console, you're obviously gonna need to spend more to purchase things

Honestly, I think the real sell outs are the ppl who complain about the prices and still shell out $100 + after buying the game. If you really have an issue, don’t spend that much. Take your L’s here and there. But everyone cheeses and boosts and pays to win and finds exploits to have an advantage.

Well you can’t fully blame those people. 2K is the ONLY basketball game on the market… so if they want to play a basketball game, they HAVE to buy 2K every year. (Especially if they play with friends) as far the 100 dollars go, even that is debatable, because you will need to buy VC to upgrade your build so either way you are putting extra money after purchasing the base game. It’s a lose lose situation.

Personally, for me i would change the price of vc, and allow people to change when their green animation comes up, like from straight away with other 2k, to delayed like 23. I would also add the feature (if not already in havent checked) where you can make "bundles" or "outfits" which you apply an outfit you made, save it, and when you change your fit and want to come back to it, you can just press a button and switch your outfit.

Fr for me to go from 83 to 94 OVR cost almost 300k vc back in 2k17 I could max out my build buy animations and clothes and still have some vc left over with that much vc

i hate that no matter whether your steph curry or desmond bane wide open you have to green everything on the meter to make jumpshots. Slightly late or slightly early and wide open is a automatic miss.

I agree with joe a bit but I highly disagree with him he’s basically sayin suck it up there’s nothing we can do about it to fix it until so and so happens which is true. The ceo will be sippin that million dollar wine laughing at tweets with no meanin. I agree w so much u said, i think game is a 7 ish. I personally feel like paint defense is alright, but idk im not as good as you, nor have i played as much as you, so maybe we just have experienced different things. Personally ive had a good time w paint defense and it rewards or punishes my positioning and timing. The steals are insane for sure, and def need a nerf. I think dunking needs a buff, w gold poster and 93+ dunk, my green window for dunking shouldnt be so small, it shouldnt get buffed to be a guarantee, but a slight buff to make it a little bit better and easier to time. Also, I appreciate u speaking out, it’s depressing that the pricing is the way it is. I love to make slashers bcz i love dunking, but sooner or later i have to make a build w a 3 ball and stuff to be more competitive, and usually im able to, but w the prices rn i cant make more builds. It also puts a lot more pressure on not making any mistakes w ur build, cuz if u do ur screwed and u have to suck it up. That stinks since mycareer and offline gameplay is so different to online gameplay, so u might think oh this will be fine, then u play online and no it isnt. Unfortunately like u said, rn its the only basketball game, they listen to an extent, they made these bug gameplay changes bcz people stopped liking the game, so prices can change too if we stop buying. Remember its total revenue, so whenever they do cost analysis, if they figure selling 450k vc for 100 dollars might sell less, but at minimum still can make the amount of money that selling it for say 60 dollars, they will increase the price to raise the profit potential. Price will only increase until demand for it stops, at which point it will decrease until demand is back. So yea joeknows or u can speak or not speak, but in the end its up to the community to stop buying vc. When that happens, 2k will have no choice but to decrease prices.

I screwed over 2k lol i bought 100 worth of vc & asked for a refund & I ended up getting my money back & I kept my builds & vc♥️

Or get the community behind it with NBA players who actually play 2k too to get word to adam silver who could absolutely do something bout it cause its the NBA name, image and likeness thats being monetized the way it is to fans/customers. They will lower their money if everyone speaks out but Joe Knows was invited the first time ever and probably scared too go out and say something. The logical point of view is these people are the games influence and the fan base is the money maker. You have both of those threatening to leave the game if the prices aren't lowered will scare 2k into lowering the vc prices. The money coming in is more important than money made that is business logic.

In my opinion you need $200 to even play 2K AFTER buying the game to enjoy it. Which is ridiculous. You have to get enough to max out your player; then you have to buy ‘skill boost’ and ‘gatorade’ or your player will be limited. Im just one man but I’m considering quitting 2K. Used to love playing it every year but playing a $200-300 video game isn’t as appealing as it once may have been.
