Professor Pro I regret buying it... games are too expensive where I live and I heard SO many people talking about this game, but I couldn’t get to it at all. just felt bored

The 3DS will always be one of my favorite handhelds, not only because it had some great games, but because it taught me a lesson about hard work and determination. I got my 3DS when I was around nine or ten, and it was the most expensive item I owned at the time. I spent around a month earning up for it by doing chores like scrubbing out bathrooms, which seemed rather daunting at the time. My mom said that if I was able to save up for it before a certain deadline (which I have now unfortunately forgotten), she would buy me a game to go along with the system. When I finally saved up enough money to buy it, my mom scheduled an in-store pickup at a nearby Toys-R-Us. I was so excited for the 3DS, that I dreamed about it on one of the four nights leading up to getting it. I remember the day I picked it up so vividly. It was an extremely hot August day, and barely anyone else was in the Toys-R-Us parking lot. I walked into the store with my siblings and my parents, and picked up my then-brand-new Aqua Blue 3DS and a copy of Super Mario 3D Land. After checking out, I excitedly returned to the car, where I ecstatically unboxed it and set it up. The first game I played on it was Face Raiders, as I was very curious when I saw it preinstalled on the home menu. I later played Mario 3D Land after updating the system, and I had fun with it for the rest of the day. The 3DS kept me entertained for so many years, and it taught me that if you set your mind to something, you can achieve it in due time. I'm fifteen now, and although my original 3DS is now broken, it will always have a place in my heart and mind as the first console I truly earned. That's so cool! Such a good memory too! While I don't specifically have a single memory of when I got my first 3ds, I was pregnant with my first daughter when I got an XL with happy home desinger on it as a gift to get me through some of the lulls when I ended up awake with a sleeping baby on my knee in the middle of the night. My eldest now has her own 2ds and loves sharing her nitendogs with everyone she meets. Knowing that she's going to love playing all through my massive games collection for the system on rainy days as she gets older makes me feel warm inside as they get loved again by the next generation.

I dont care if people say the 3ds is "dead". It will NEVER BE "dead" to me. I love my switch but my 3ds is just irreplaceable! So much that I plan on buying a new 2ds XL before Nintendo discontinue them. So that my 3ds library can be played still YEARS after my current 3ds battery dies. There are just so many reasons the switch just cant replace the 3ds. For me the journey with my 3ds continues on more than ever. Sure there will be less people on streetpass etc. But my enjoyment will always remain. The impact that the 3ds had on the gaming industry and its fans will live on and always be treasured. #LongliveThe3ds #3dsWillNeverDie

@@Josh-md1bc yeah my 3ds is the new 3ds XL model. Its got alot of life to it still but Nintendo will someday discontinue the 2ds/3ds. So im definitely gonna buy a 2dsXL soon and keep it in storage till i need it. Ill do the system/data transfer from my old one to my new one then get rid of my old one.

Great video guys! Awesome list, looks like ill be buying some more to get back onto my 3ds. Been too long since i played it.

Only started collecting this year but I already have almost all of these games so i'm happy. Got a DSi last year and that got me back into handheld gaming and now the 3DS is such an amazing step up. Glad I came in at the end with all these amazing new games to pick up and play while I increase my switch collection for my non-existent switch!!

The only problem I have with lists like this is the lack of single-platform only games. Some are only on 3DS, but a good number are re-releases, remasters or remakes. Can we please have a list of best games only on 3DS instead?

ORAS is the worse of the 3DS Pokemon games. The multiplats & 3rd party ips should only need one rep (too heavy on Capcom titles), also no SMT 4, Persona Q2, a 0 escape title, Project X Zone, or Mario Kart 7.

Sad to see that Fantasy Life did not make this list. Fantastic game with a lot of replayability and the various 'Lifes' you can partake in for combat, gathering, and crafting, all make for a very fun game with lots to do. The dialogue is extremely goofy like 'Your Royal Harrrrr-ness!' when speaking to Olivia is pure comedic gold, IMO.

The 3DS will always be my favourite console ever. The DS Lite was my first ever gaming system (yes im pretty young) and I loved playing super mario bros, nintendogs, animal crossing, mario kart ds and loads others. I have a new nintendo 3ds now and I still love it so much. I will never not own a 3DS

That game is amazing. It's awesome. Hands down one of the best and criminally underrated. I used to play years ago but no idea where it went, but its so expensive to buy now. Might see if I can buy a digital version somewhere. That, Code of Princess and Bravely Default are all super expensive but I need them. Ever Oasis too. It's a superb mix of Animal Crossing and Zelda.

My story with 3DS comes from a place of desperation yet love for Nintendo. I'm from India, and Nintendo never gave a shit about my country. They don't sell their consoles here officially, and the E-Shop isn't even accessible. When my family decided to go backpacking across Europe, I was overjoyed to know that I could get a 3DS from one of the stores! After doing my research (or so I thought), I got one along with a copy of Pokemon: Sun. It was not until I was back in India when I realized that the 3DS is region-locked. Worse, the 3DS games which are available through third-party sellers in India are for devices with US region-locks. Anyhow, I didn't give. A year later, one of my relatives who stays in Europe agreed to send me two games (Super Mario Bros and Monster Hunter 4). I have absolutely enjoyed playing a total of three games on my 3DS and now, finally, I found out that the latest version of 3DS can be hacked! I hope I successfully install Homebrew/CFW and get to play all the amazing games for this device. Thanks for reading!

My favorite 3DS games at the moment are Animal Crossing New Leaf, Fire Emblem Fates Birthright, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Tomodachi Life which didn't make this list but can actually be quite fun for a game that's geared towards younger audiences. Thanks for the list, I'm trying to find new games to play. I still have a copy of Zelda: The Majora's Mask, which I found this afternoon, and I'm thinking of playing that again. From this list I'm thinking I also want to try that Pirate's Curse game, looks cool.

Also I don’t know if it’s just me who realized this but in most of the videos that tell u the best games to get for a 3Ds there’s always Animal cross in it , the legend of Zelda :ocarina if time 3D,Luigi mansion : dark moon, the legend of Zelda : a link between worlds and professor Layton ya I think those games are always in it .

The DS consoles have been amazing and although it's best days are behind us it still is a amazing and worthy purchase even today as the 2ds and 3ds have a amazing catalogue of games to chose from. If you have a DS, treasure it, if you dont you should seriously consider picking one up❤👊

Thank you for including Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, and Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. As it was the most successful third party DS game, I think it's great that it continued on in 3D.

Just got a new 2ds xl again after selling mine over 2 years ago. I cant wait to jump into these games again and pick up some that I never have tried before.

I know that the 3D was problematic for a lot of people, but for me it honestly makes a huge difference. This feels like the best way to play games. Obviously the performance doesn’t compare to the modern consoles though. Thanks for some wonderful memories 3DS

@@alexwingo8094 It's down to personal preference, but I had my 3d slider off for so long until I got a New 3dsXl and from then on the slider was up. The super stable and OLED screen took away my eye strain and constant difficulty finding the perfect angle.

Rune Factory 4 is definitely up there for me. I'm surprised how many people are mentioning fantasy life though, that game kind of came and went without me noticing.

I'm always looking for something new on my 3ds, but I feel like you should have curated the games that are also available on the switch either outside the list, or commented the port exists.

I’m adding Virtue’s Last Reward to this list and it is the definitive edition for sure ❤️

For my birthday me and the wife got some 3DS systems for the first time to play together since I'm always on pc and she's on Xbox and the list of handheld games is daunting. Thanks for the vid man this will help for sure ❤️ gotta get me some animal crossing

The first that really caught my interest was Super Mario 3D Land: why? Because it was done so colorfull and wonderfull and it got me excited and curious how to wander around in that game. The second game was actually Zelda a link between worlds. These 2 are the only gems that actually moved me until this day. Oh and also Animal Crossing: so relaxing and really good spend some good times on it. After those, in the eshop I bought Zelda Seasons and Zelda Ages on the GB virtual console and also Metrioid II. These games do stand the test of time and they do deserve to be played even once more (I own these on GB, but I went through these games a 3rd time now) And I STILL enjoy to play it through again. Zelda's and Mario games are the ones to get guys if you want to have worth your money on any Nintendo. :) Highly recommended.

@@blablabloblo2118 dude it took me like 20 hours to finish x y and i took it slowly i finished it in like 2 days ago i played sun and moon and finished it in 1 and a half week it took me about 60 hours to finish it but the game was so good and trying to complete the pokedex which i did and battling online and shiny hunting and other stuff I have over 550 hours on pokémon sun the game is that good

I will never forget the fond memories I had with my 3DS. I got mine when I was 14, and the library of games I had played housed some fun times. So yeah, this gonna be a long one. I had fun 100%-ing Super Mario 3D Land. It was my very first game for the system, and I loved the its clever uses of the 3D slider. I loved racing my friends in Mario Kart 7. Just a shame te roster wasn't as big as the other MK games, but I still had fun, and MK7 Rainbow Road is still my favorite iteration of the track. Along with the remix. I loved re-playing classic N64 remade games like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Star Fox 64. I remembered the time my friend and I both bought Pokemon X & Y at its launch date. Fire Emblem Awakening was my first entry of the series, and I don't regret it either. Kid Icarus Uprising was a game I kept re-playing non-stop. From the story, the cast, the music, and even the gameplay. Control issues aside, I still consider it to be one of my top favorite 3DS games. A Link Between Worlds easily became one of my favorite titles in the Zelda series. From its creative dungeons, the fun combat, and being a major step up from Skyward Sword in terms of less hand-holding. I remember the amount of hours I sank into Bravely Default, and housing one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Kingdom Hearts 3D was what sparked my love into the KH series. Kirby Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot were some of the most fun, charming, and creative 2D platformers I ever played. Pokemon Sun & Moon/Ultra Sun & Moon gave me a bittersweet end to the last time I could play these games on a handheld. Fire Emblem Echoes, while had some flaws, I was engrossed with both its the story and its cast. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team was slow at start, but the rest of the journey was silly and endearing. With a great soundtrack to boot. Superstar Saga DX while slightly inferior to its original counterpart, I still enjoyed traveling across BeanBean Kingdom like the GBA days of old. Shantae and the Pirate's Curse was easily the best game in the series, hands-down. The Azure Striker Gunvolt games were fun, fast-paced, and a blast to replay multiple times. The hours I had in Animal Crossing: New Leaf were super cutr and enjoyable. Hopefully New Horizons will deliver a similar experience. Paper Mario: Sticker Star...yeah. And lastly, Super Smash Bros 3DS. This was a game me and collage buddies were hyped about since then, and I enjoyed it more than the Wii U version in terms of better content and stages. One of the characters I wanted in the most was Shulk, and you could imagine how shook I was. And thanks to Ultimate, we got to see some of the 3DS stages in full HD glory. -Sadly, still no Rainbow Road-. My 3DS is a system that maybe gone, but will never be forgotten.

I'm really starting to love Zion's contributions here.

Perhaps someone or no one has mentioned these, but I liked a vast majority of the Street Pass games from Find Mii/Puzzle Swap - Battleground Z/Ultimate Angler as I found them to be fun and addicting, especially Monster Manor, Ultimate Angler, both Find Mii games & Puzzle Swap. Warrior's Way was the weakest of the bunch. However, these games did rely on getting Street Passes which I know was difficult to come by in some places.

I'm wounded by Rune Factory 4's exclusion. The relaxing yet rewarding gameplay of Harvest Moon pairs with a satisfying, fast paced, open-ended dungeon crawler with more depth than even many console games, all at your own pace! Of all the 3DS games I played it felt like the most complete package. Or maybe I'm just a hopeless weeb 😅

Man the 3ds was such a freaking good time. So many incredible titles.

Gamestop restocked a 2DS yesterday morning and I instantly bought one, I missed out on this era as a child I went from GB,GBA,DS to Xbox and Xbox 360 so I missed out on some of the best nintendo games ever made. Plus still have yet to play pokemon X and Y (just never wanted to play it on emulators even tho ive played all the others) and am excited to finally try it out

Strong list but no Shin Megami Tensei game? Seriously? The ones on the video are very good. But games like Shin Megami Tensei IV or Strange Journey Redux are even better than most of those. You also forgot Etrian Odyssey, Tales of the Abyss, Virtues Last Reward, Devil Survivor, Dragon Quest... What's wrong ppl? I'd swear you haven't played them. I know it's a matter of tastes but SMT are HUGE games that deserve to be mentioned.

smt is pretty niche, it doesn't really have a big fanbase. besides its subseries, persona, has a bigger fanbase than smt

I got a hold of a 3ds recently and came to this video for game purchase info. I also like to make videos and noticed that your intro looks like it was recorded in 24/30 fps but when I check "stats for nerds" (when you right-click on the video) it says it's running at 60 fps. how did you export/render/upload this video? just curious.

It may be new, but Persona Q2 is one of my favourite on my shelf.

Persona Q2, Strange Journey Redux, SMT 4, the Devil Survivor remakes and Radiant Historia are some of the best RPGs in the 3ds. Dont @ me. (Also im not including PQ1 because good lord those maps give me brain cancer)

The 3DS is my favourite modern game system! This is a great list, but I'd have included the Etrian Odyssey series, Super Street Fighter IV, Hatsune Miku Project Mirai, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Bloodstained Curse of the Moon, Mario Kart 7, Warioware Gold and Girls Mode 4... And that's because I haven't yet played all the 3DS games I wanted! (Some of those are on the video, many aren't)

The little jokes are really appreciated dude, this was a fun vid!

Kirby Planet Robobot is my favorite. I'm also pretty into the Style Savvy franchise but I doubt this franchise will ever get the recognition it deserves. MH4U was also my favorite MH game of all time. Great title.

I sort of wish that multiple games from one franchise, and of the same gameplay style, were compressed into one slot, in order to allow for additional variety and show newcomers more options.

I'm glad Ace Attorney and Professor Layton got their time to shine! But what about all the love and support ATLUS gave the 3DS? SMT: Apocalypse and SMT: Soul Hackers are some of my favorite 3DS games. Please check them out!

Link between worlds surprised me on how good that is. That game should be in the top 50 nintendo games of all time not just the 3DS

Yo-kai Watch is an underrated series which is one of my all time favourite 3DS games. Do yourself a favour and play it. 😭❤️

I never cared for Ocarina of Time or Majora's mask when they were on the N64. Then they came to 3ds and they became my favorite games on the system. They were so much better for me personally that I still play them to this day. I went back to them on N64 and I still don't like them there, but on 3ds they are great.

wow!, these are good games!, however i miss you to include the ¨Mario & Luigi¨ saga, or even Paper Mario!, i love this compilation!

This is probably the best 3DS list video I have ever seen.

When I'm toilet gaming on the 3DS , my go-to game is Phoenix, which allows me to really evacuate my bowels by screaming out "OBJECTION!!!" right along with the game.

using my Nintendo switch as the touch part and controller of my 3ds emulator on my pc is awesome. these games look so much better at 4k. when they work.

Try out the Professor Layton games. I recommend starting with Professor Layton Azran Legacy if you prefer stories, Professor Layton Miracle mask if you prefer puzzles. Also, try out Professor Clayton vs Ace Attorney since it's my favorite 3ds game.

Just try out Professor Layton Azran Legacy first since the puzzles are more challenging and rewarding, it also has a better story than Miracle mask.

Just got a 3DS XL and Super Smash Bros 3DS is the best. Feels good playing it in your hands. Ppl still play online and the Custom mode is a cool addition, lets me speed up the gameplay. Don't need Ultimate lol

@Bryson Shepherd Oh, by a longshot. I would put Tri Force Heroes on the list IN ADDITION to the other three Zelda games on the 3DS. I'm thinking what I would add to my theoretical list of 25 games. The other 17 games would pretty much be in this video already, so I didn't mention them. Was just giving a shoutout to the other 3DS titles I like.

The Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton crossover game is amazing. There are SO MANY amazing DS and 3DS games. I have a Switch but I still play my 3ds xl constantly.

@@LuisMartinez-jk3yo I absolutely would. Professor Layton was my first DS game. You don't need to start with the first game of the franchise either. All of them are easy to pick up and begin. Professor Layton is just brain teasers with a storyline between them but it's a great game. The Phoenix Wright games are great as well, and the DS ones are easier to come by. The crossover game if you're looking to buy the cartridge can be very expensive but you can buy the digital versions. I personally suggest at least 1 game from each franchise before playing the crossover, just to get the best experience. I hope you love them as much as I do. I know that they're something I still replay now and would be excited if I could play again the first time. Phoenix Wright tends to have more wit and excitement. I always played Professor Layton at the end of the day. I hope this helps and I really hope you get to try them and love them. 💙
