This horse is a serious animal, close hatches was a legend.

As I hoped, Batten Down was the speed of the speed, and took a nice step forward, delivering on the promising signs of his young career. With every reason to improve and more upside the some , it seemed worth the bets. The fans and connections of 'Freedom though, have to be disappointed . Not only did he fail to win something he was " expected" to, he didn't even finish second or third. I imagine he will get some time off now. Meanwhile the first 3 finishers showed good improvement. Should make for an interesting latter part of the season ahead for the 3 year old division !

Batten Down is a good horse, no doubt. But in my opinion, he will have to show more fight than here in the Jim Dandy, with Fierceness, Dornoch, Seize the Grey, AND Sierra Leone in the field. He won’t retain that lead for long with those. No early lead will give him enough room to outrun them. It’s obvious that he has stamina. My question is, does he have speed?

I had Batten Down huge today I been following him he's the real deal I hit exacta to Goulds Gold it paid good I had a feeling Catching freedom wasn't winning today I almost hit trifecta if Catching freedom comes in 3rd I hit trifecta straight but he comes in 4th but Batten Down I loved today It was a Lock for me he goes wire to wire

When Mott ships, his horses are live. His dam was a really nice mare. Have to think Jim Dandy and or the Travers next? Doubt he runs in the Haskell.

Sierra Leone need to stay on the fence all the way around. But the riders always racing very wide then he logged in looking for the rail.
