Monaco is part of the Triple Crown and the other races ( 24h of Le Mans and Indy 500 ) are a bit unique in comparison to their respective championships, that's why Monaco deserves a unique format as well. At Monaco, the main challenges are the clock and the track itself, so I would suggest making the average lap time in the main event determine the finishing positions and then the lack of on-track action wouldn't be an issue anymore. F1 could also allow special liveries at the Monaco GP, inspired by the Nascar races at Darlington, where they usually have throwback liveries, just to add extra charm.

What I found great this race weekend was the contrast between Monaco and the Indy 500. The Indy 500 was so much more entertaining to watch, there were loads of passings, great position battles, and excitement and heartbreak all throughout the race. The last 5 laps were an absolute thiller as it was essentially a three-way shootout between Alexander Rossi, Josef Newgarden, Pato O'Ward. And speaking of Pato O'Ward, if Newgarden didn’t overtake him in the last two corners, he would have been the first Mexican driver to win the Indy 500.

Just a potential temporary benching of Esteban Ocon with reserve driver Jack Doohan taking Estie's place. Honestly, unlikely because Esteban is overdriving the Alpine and trying to carry the team. Not to say Pierre isn't doing a good job. The main issue is, they shouldn't be fighting each other, especially for 14th and 15th or whatever. Alpine should strip them of their rights to race each other and be forced to race under season long team orders

The feel-good story at the end is nice, but god... What a boring race. Even commentary was like "We know this sucks... But history!" I got a good laugh out the discussion of how useless DRS is there, as well as Martin Brundle talking about how overtaking anywhere is basically a 50/50 chance of crashing.

I think for some unknown reason the FIA are extremely reluctant to issue a race ban. Either penalise them both or deem them both first lap incidents

He would angle his car ahead of the braking zone and not turn the wheel while simultaneously squeezing the guy trying to pass. I've seen it used at the 1st turn in Canada to good effect. So yes wheel movement isn't everything.

Ladder man, not related to video, but have Liberty Media info. I think this is useful to you because of the Andretti saga. They agreed to buy MotoGP for 4 billion, which is F1 for motorcycle racing. However the deal must be approved by regulators. So if the regulators think that Liberty will be/are too naughty the deal can be rejected. Therefore if I am Andretti and GM Id use this deal as a tool to get what I want. Because for Liberty Media, bilions are at stake. If they dont behave, they can lose out on bilions in future profits If I were you Id look more into this, as I think it can be useful for future Andretti videos P.S. There's some other legal ammunition that Andretti could use in this matter as well. Such as: 1) Bring in former and current members of HAAS, Sauber-Audi, and Ford to testify, as they are the most recent additions to the grid, and see if they received preferential treatment over Andretti. 2) Bring in GM and Cadillac to corroborate in a sworn deposition that F1 approached them to make PUs for a team that's already on the grid, knowing that Cadillac already signed with Andretti. 3) Have Andretti come in and tell their story about how they plan to grow the sport through competitiveness, investments, sponsorships, fan interactions, and employment numbers. 4) Prove that LM had zero intentions of approving any prospective entrants, regardless of who they are, as that could be viewed as monopolistic and fraudulent. 5) If collusion is found between LM and the teams based on Point #4, then that could escalate to RICO charges against LM, the F1 organization, and teams. All of this, if proven, would be incredibly damming for LM and F1. At that point, it would be better to just reach a settlement deal that satisfies all parties involved.

We've seen it before with the FIA, they will get pretty close to banning a driver from a race, but they back off when it gets close. However, this one with KMag and Checo was pretty damn serious. Look at the car! The man had one wheel left and the tub looked like it had been harpooned, let alone the photogs on the side who were caught up by no fault of their own, and in addition, KMag managed to take out his own teammate too. Is this really going to be an every race thing with him? His thing is if there is a gap take it, but that's not winning races and getting points is it? Gotta look for another strategy other than just dive bomb drivers.

I'm for a rule that granted teams extra budget when they go with a driver that never had a full F1 season. Restricted for one of the two seats in a team. More rookies in the field, and we can make a Rookie championship with extra budget for the winner. Small teams could develop new drivers and can develop the team more.

And for the Monaco GP: Make a special qualifying mode for Sunday, not a race. Who has the fastest overall lap times wins. 20 cars on track all the time, no standing start, pit lane start (small teams first, big teams last) 50 rounds, mandatory three tires types (2 pitstops). Who gets more perfect laps together in traffic. Saturday Sprint race over half distance so at least we have a short procession around the harbor.

I agree with your take on the Checo/Magnussen(and poor Hulk) incident. Checo could've gone a bit off to the left, but he would've been dependent on Hulkenberg's generosity, because Hulk might not have been fully aware that Kevin was still stuck on the right. And there would've otherwise been no reason for Checo to go to the left because he was on the apex already, so a move to the left could easily have been interpreted by Nico as Checo trying to push him out. Besides, after that part, there would've been a bend inwards from the left, so that would've left Hulk in a tight spot if Checo did move towards the left to let Kevin beside him, you're not going to do that sector with 3 cars wide. And there would also have been no reason for Checo to back out, because he was the car in the lead, if he did that, then that would've clearly become a meme: "Checo Masterclass: Backing out of a leading position to let 2 slower cars pass". Normally i hear people about backing off when such a situation occurs, saying that drivers know that you have to be at least side by side at some point to be granted the space, and that lingering around the rear tyres of the guy in front of you is a hazardous thing to do etc., but somehow people are looking at Checo, even Peter Windsor does so. Drivers should leave the space, but the same can be said about Kevin, because he was trying to get on the outside, where there was NO outside anyway. The bend was coming up, Checo just stayed on the racing line, Kevin should've known that the opportunity was gone, but backing off also probably would've meant losing a position to his teammate, and he really didn't want to battle Hulkenberg, and instead got desperate. There's no equal blame here, it definitely leans way more towards Kevin, especially also for taking his teammate out because Checo at that point was just a spectator. Kevin should've gotten a penalty, despite how bad that could've been for him because of all the other penalties he's already gotten this season. The road looked bendy, but as Jensen also explained, in practice it's basically a straight, and Checo was on that line, i really don't get why Kevin should have been granted the space. I guess there's no penalty because Haas didn't file a complaint, nor did Red Bull? But that still makes the Alpine incident look strange for Ocon getting a penalty for that, considering Alpine wouldn't have filed a complaint against Ocon or Gasly. If the reason for that penalty was for putting other drivers at risk, then shouldn't Hulkenberg be the prime evidence for such an occurance, and almost taking Zhou out as well? It's just weird, typical i guess.

The blame here lends more to Perez. He knew he wasn't past Magnussen and from 15.45 on the full race replay video you can see he moves over. He tried to squeeze Magnussen and because KMag was already up against the wall there was no where to go and no way to back out. Ultimately calling it a Lap 1 racing incident is what saved Perez from penalty. He got off to a bad start behind traffic and tried to force his way ahead. KMag's front wheel was in front of Perez's rear wheel. It's clear Perez was at fault here. Even if he didn't try to squeeze and was just ignorant of the cars around him that also is not a good excuse.

  • @Games_and_Music

    @Games_and_Music

    29 күн бұрын

@@desshinnick9365 Idk, i admit that after looking at the replays again, that Nico was aware of and could see Kevin's location, so he might not have thought of Checo moving to the left as an attack on him. And yes, Checo could have moved a bit to the left, so i am not solely pinning it on Kevin, i'd say Checo's part in this was about 35%. I actually started out with Checo at 20%, but i do think that he should've been more aware. He wants to take the same racing line like the others ahead, but he was too slow in shutting that door fully, Kevin was about to "inherit" the racing line by having stuck to that side the whole time, and he stumbles into Kevin. The fact that Checo was skidding during the time that he should've blocked off Kevin, doesn't help much, and with Nico to the left, he was sorta trying to keep tabs on both Haas drivers, but it resulted in a half-hearted attempt and a lazy and costly crash. I am no longer adamant that Kevin should've gotten a penalty, but that also doesn't sit well with the fact that only Ocon still gets a penalty. I do still think that Kevin was also too oppertunistic, because once Checo got up to speed, he was no longer gaining on Checo anymore, and if they had stayed together like that for longer, it would have turned into a crash at some point anyway, narrow streets, wide cars. The Red Bulls were handicapped, but not to the point of being on par with Haas, i admire Kevin's spirit, but he's no matador yet. But i can also understand if people think of it as a Lewis-Piastri moment where Lewis veered into an innocent Oscar on the outside. On the other hand, maybe also a bit like Max-Lewis Copse corner, as Kevin technically had no "business" being on the outside. Or a George "he turned into me" Russell moment.

THANK YOU Law, finally some sense with the incident between Magnussen and Checo! I am a Checo Fan, I am Mexican, but I just can't understand any commentator saying that it was Checo's fault or that he should share the blame with Magnussen. Magnussen had FULL view of the RB, his car and the track ahead and still decided to try to pass on the outside at Monaco? And he still put the responsability on Checo???Even I would be World Champion if I could lower the difficulty settings to "Every Driver has to give me space on any part of the track if I am an inch on their rear tire and they have to be cognizant of me at every point of the race". What does the FIA needed to get an investigation going? Now someone HAS gotten hurt on track and that isn't enough? "At least two drivers have to get injuries above a broken finger so that we can start investigating Kevin" It is even more insulting with the penalty points that have been handed to Checo and Alonso for very questionable incidents. Love the videos Law keep it up! And that shout out to Nuria was lovely the other day, she is a great artist!

It feels like he's mentally checked out of the sport. Yes, he can and does play the team game at times, but his race craft right now feels like he's in an online lobby. Only here, real money is needed to fix the damage and, much more importantly, people can (and in this case *did*) get hurt. I feel like the only reason he wasn't investigated is because it was known what this would mean and so the regulators chickened out as if following through on a ban when the rules are consistently broken is a bad look for them, even though the opposite is true. He is exceptionally lucky and I hope he gets reined in before Canada. This cannot be allowed to continue.

"We talked about this before the race about strategy ,that this was completely out-of-bounds and now he will face the consequences," was how I heard it on Canal+ (I might have misheard so I could be slightly wrong) so I would absolve Famin of any blame here, Ocon went for the Senna quote and forgot the "which exists" and paid the price. Famin was pretty damning of Ocon and had every right to be. There was a picture of Ocon on Canal+ looking at the restart in the press area with the team top and cap on. It was the most sheepish I've ever seen Ocon look. If they're thinking of putting Jack Doohan in the car as an act of retaliation, I say do it!

I agree, i can't say that he let it happen, because they were specifically instructed not to fight, and there's no way that he can be right there to keep them away from each other. It's up to the drivers to stick to the rules, Ocon clearly did not do that. If Famin said "duke it out, go ahead, do whatever", then yeah i'd say he's to blame for it as well, but it was the opposite. How is he to blame? Should he have been scarier, angrier and stricter beforehand? I doubt that that is the reason. He also wasn't the one to bring Gasly and Ocon in the same team either, so i can't blame him for that either. Also, they did show Doohan and Famin talking outside before going back in the motorhome again together, so it could mean absolutely nothing, but maybe Famin is thinking about it in some capacity. I'm not sure how well Doohan will do, but i do think that he's hung around for long enough now, same for Drugovich btw, Lance isn't the worst, but Drugo would definitely be better.

And Logan's run is so unspectacular, he is only mentioned indirectly as part of Valtteri's overtake. As for Haas, and Kevin specifically, to quote Nico Hulkenberg in 2017 "once again, most unsporting driver of the race." Besty Esty has once again regained the title of 'collector of penalties,' after he decide to reignite the French Civil War by getting in Pierre's way and nearly yeeted both of them out of the race. For Merc, if the post-quali and post-race interviews are anything to go by, it looks like Merc is going to use Lewis as a guinea pig to run experiments and tests to further optimize the W15, while giving Russell the better setups and prioritize upgrades. For Stroll, Alonso sacrificed his race so that he can fight for points, but instead clipped a barrier near the pits that ripped his tire off its rim, forcing him to pit again.

Some sort of change to the Monaco circuit is certainly mandated, with complete consultation with the drivers. Surely dropping the race from the calendar would be a greater sacrilege than a change to the layout? Certainly given that a substantial part of the layout is not the same as it was in the old days (the swimming pool). Options need to be considered, but for me, mandatory numbers of pit stops etc are just a silly sticking plaster fix. Let them race on merit and do so in circumstances where a pass is at least possible.

I still think Max will win the WDC, if it's not Max, then it will be Leclerc. However the WDC, unless Perez starts performing, I don't see Red Bull winning it. It might be even so that Red Bull will be 3rd, due to awesome progress of McLaren. All hope is not lost, and we still have circuits that Red Bull are strong in - with that being said, I guess they will have issues in Canada, Hungary, and Austria. Those tracks are notorious for their curbs and you have to use them.

imo I don’t think KMag should be getting ripped apart the way he is, Perez looked in his mirror a few times and saw him there yet still didn’t leave an inch of room. yes, it was a very risky move for KMag to take, and I completely understand the argument of why he shouldn’t have, but at Monaco when you’re already at the back I can see why he would go for it cause “no risk no reward” is way more KMag’s style of driving. trying to think about this from KMag’s perspective; he’s not the type of driver to just take it easy and finish the race at the back because what’s the point when there’s nothing at stake (puns 100% intended). it definitely could have been avoided but it could have been avoided by either KMag or Checo which is why I agree with the racing incident call. ofc this is just my opinion on this topic so please don’t attack me 🫣
