Driving the new M2 the best way I can describe it is the love child of an American muscle car and a 718 Cayman. I was blown away by how nice these cars are!

I had a 2019 M2C with a 6 speed. Loved it. Such a beast. Was really looking forward to the new one until it was announced.. couldn't do it. Went with a 981 GTS instead and didn't look back.

You DO NOT have to be parked to change those settings. The controls are easy to figure out in no time

I was looking at getting one of the previous M2's but ended up getting another Terminator Cobra again

Loved this car from the second I first saw it. I wish the M2 came in Thundernight Metallic like the M240i.

The bolted on widescreen display on the dash is lazy design. The previous generation F series had a much nicer and more integrated dash. It's even worse in the X series because it's bigger. Hate the lack of physical buttons. I own a couple of BMW's and seriously thinking about ditching the brand because the design is so poor. Love the manual though.

At least the kept the grill small Exterior kind of looks like a WRX. Using the screen to control everything is a trend that needs to die. I can get a ticket for using my phone but now they want us to touch a screen and go through multiple menus to do the most simple of things

I'm right there with you , this is the first m2 that I actually find attractive, the previous ones look horrible to me so I always preferred the m4 . Until now , this thing is sexy.

I love it honestly. Loved it since day 1. I want one

I genuienly love the new m2.

Lego front bumper 😂 that said I like BMW. But the M4 GT3 is pretty much the only modern BMW I actually really like. That and the M8 GTE

I had fun in the one I reviewed. The 6 speed was a little meh but hella fun!

Your titles always have a negative spin on them. I get it, a negative title will get more clicks but it’s disheartening, especially when you are such a positive legit guy. Instead of saying “does the manual BMW M2 actually suck?”

At least it looks way better then the new m4 and up

Just bought an F87 M2 competition. Worth the penny though the new one was not too bad. It's good but it feels still heavier like you're driving a camaro or muscle car more than a lightweight car.

Saw one recently and that rear end is a SHELF.

I thing the purpose of the exterior design is to make it look a little retro which I think looks cool

You can already see some admitting the looks growing on them. I have been in the car scene for 30 years and rarely do people like the new models, then lo and behold after a while after the new model comes out "the last model was so much better". This happens all the time especially with BMWs and Audi's.

This car looks interesting and unique, and the past 20 years of previous BMWs (with the exception of the i8 and i3) were utterly boring to look at, fight me. Congratulations BMW, you finally made a non-hybrid that doesn't look like a Camry with a mustache! Good for you. Still would rather avoid BMWs because I don't trust their long-term reliability at all, but this is the most appealing thing they've made in decades IMO.

The S58 is nowhere near the dreadful era of N series engine mate. Someone with an M3 had shove 1300hp in it and it still hasn't break unless pouring 150 shot of nitrous, seriously.

I like this M2 because the design reminds me of the E36

You don't need to stop to go into sport mode. Just program whatever you want to the M1 M2 buttons and you can switch to them at any time.

absolutely love my 2024 M2 i can't find one thing about it to fault. i installed after market grills for front and undercarriage. i have friends with 911 and corvette and as far as i am concerned they can keep them. BMW out did themselves on this model, i might buy an additional one, 2025 in a different color !

crazy how the true elephant in the room wasn't addressed, the weight. the thing is a boat compared to the last gen and just a few pounds shy of the m3/m4. You can feel it.

I mean I love it but its also my dream car so I may be a bit biased.

Funny cause I drove a 2nd gen tc for 7 years and when i first saw these cars, I fell in love with the styling....makes sense. I’ve had a new 230i for a year now. Great car, and with O to 50 in fiveish seconds, it’s kept me out of jail.

Picked up one of these a couple weeks ago.bim loving it. It's like I'm shallow Hal. I like the look. It doesn't look like other cars. It doesn't need to be the same formula as the e46 or any other generation. If you want one of those or an e92?. Buy one of them while you still can. Had one of each. They're great cars, but I've moved on. What it lacks in feel it makes up for in raw power and modern comfort.

Do the dealers let you test drive these?

While I don't like the boxy design that much this is the m car I would go for

I love the looks of the g80 but the new m2 is just fine for me, yesterday I saw one and it’s just a bit too bulky for me

The original M2 with the tuned 340i engine is my favorite. The sound and the feeling are the best

@@gedam131 yeah not the S55 motor, if only people knew you can get a 340i M package and then get a stage 2 Dinan Tune and some better shocks and you got yourself an M2 Sedan but better

I own this car and have 16,000 miles on it. iDrive 8 is best infotainment on the market. It is so well thought out, so easy to use, is fast and looks amazing. I get compliments on my car almost every day. People love it in real life. Since everyone in the internet is a sheep, it is the contrary.

As an E36 owner, hearing this car described as a box is laughable 😂

The f87 m2 is the best looking modern bmw. Since the e92 m3. If money wasn't an issue I'd put the g87 m2 drivetrain in the f82 that would be sick.

I've seen a few in person now and in different colors........ it's just not a good looking car. I don't understand how people buy so many of these new cars with how terrible so many designs are these days. Performance wise doesn't even matter to me if a car is that ugly

Love the g87,, great to see bmw make an actual sports car and leave behind the dark ages of life less sedans that appeared to have been inspired by the toyota corolla design team. There's a reason people have always just said "its a beemer", because for the last 20 years every bmw has looked the same. Fantastic to see bmw get back to their roots and make a stand alone killer car, just love it.

Car looks amazing a modern version of the e30. The color blue that seems to be on all the press cars and all the ones I see for sale I’m not a fan of

The baby blue color is subjective. But I would slap this on a 2013 GT86 & the new GR86

I really like the m2 especially the new one ofc I love the last one it is and has been a great car while I think that people shit on it it’s not deserved it is a cool ass car it is the car I want to buy because it’s kinda cheap in Mexico(it is built and designed here) abt $90,000usd or $1.6million pesos

the automatic one sucks too. my 2023 m40i xdrive is bone stock with no tune, just 3 gallons of e85 and i destroy the automatic m2 in dig race and from a roll. my neighbor has the m2 and i got the m40i. the m240i is lighter, stops in shorter distance and acclerates like the m2 wishes it could with a tune.

The first gen looked incredible.

Modern car makers are sadly stuck thinking these screens are nice or cool. They suck so bad and they are gonna date the cars like hell in a few years

A tasteful lip kit on the front and these things look mint, but i think they need an aftermarket tailights

It’s an engineering marvel that they got the M2 to weigh the same as the Mustang GT. Lol

The design language has way more personality than the rest of their coupes and sedan. It also feels JDMish (?) with its body kit so I get why a lot of folk do not like it

Honestly, getting the base M2 for around $65k is a bargain in my opinion. Probably the best car in the range for 450 HP. And it’s an M car.

What they did to the looks of the M3, 4 and 2 are a travesty. Idc about the power plants, but damn they looked so good in the previous gen.

I’m sure this car can run circles around the previous gen M2 but man was that car gorgeous compared to this thing (emphasis on thing)
