FYI, if the bike has less than 1000km (620 miles) on it, then it’s in a somewhat reduced power mode. It’s set up that way from the factory during the break-in period. After 1000km, the power difference (increase) is quite noticeable. That may be why you think that the Duke felt faster (assuming the Duke you were riding had more than 1000km on it, and further assuming it was totally stock).

Yeah, you can see the shift indicator (flashing tach) at 6500. They get rid of that at the 1000km service (according to owner’s manual). I am at 320 miles, looking forward to the service! But I’m pretty confident that’s the issue compared to the Duke he rode.

My RC390 currently sits at 511 miles ( 822km ) for overseas folks. And I CANNOT wait to go in for its first service and finally have the bike fully opened to it's full potential!

@@justultrra3568that’s fuckin made up, you’re supposed to get the service at that time but there’s no power bump or any of that bullshit. It’s just the shift light telling you to take it easy at first 😂

I own a 23' RC390, and after its first service jt unlocks all the power ( after 600 miles ) and ive put on a couple power mods, mainly a full system DominatoR exhaust and an airbox lid cover. But the main thing is the tune, even with an autotuner like thr FuelXlite/Pro or Dynojet, it REALLY turns it into a different bike! I have a blast using it as a daily and tearing up mountain roads on the weekends

It's a sweet bike. I have a 23 duke that is unfortunately still in the break in phase. I'm absolutely in love with it so far & can't wait to get some mods to get her to her full potential

I have the husqvarna vitpilen 401 with the same engine inside. After 1000km is become a bit better, but after 2000km it has become another engine. It sounds better and feels way better/faster. I think motorcycle should only reviewed after the first 1500km.

It’s funny you say that. I have a 22” Duke 390 that I got last year with 0 miles.. I put a full exhaust and added a Rapid Bike Evo Piggyback at 600 miles.. it felt better and I noticed a bit more power.. but approaching 1800 miles now, almost 3000 km and I feel it’s really woken up recently.. pretty fun to ride 👍👍

I go testride one this weekend, to buy as a trackbike. I have a 701 Enduro as a daily bike. The bike of my Brother broke and he s only allowed to ride smaller bikes, so it s 2 birds with one stone :) I kinda find it funny to have a racebike with 1 zylinder :D

Once it was announced the 390 series will become a twin cylinder but so far it's not. I had the previous version it enjoyed it a lot, except for full day ride experiences. If one day the RC390 becomes a twin cylinder i'll be at the dealership the next day ✌

KTM was partners with CFmoto at the time. And they both still share frames engine designs, etc. The 450ss is technically the canceled twin cylinder 390 project. It's a cool bike but I'm waiting for a couple months/years still to see if it's reliable or not

I'm 5'6 and 40 Kgs (96 lbs). I had the chance of test riding this motorcycle and although I could only reach the ground with both my toes when I first got on it, the motorcycle just sinks in when you fully sit and put your weight on it's seat due to it's soft rear suspension and instantly makes you feel more confident and comfortable. Note that even though both my heels were very close to the ground they could not come in contact with the ground unless I decide to stand with the bike in between my legs but it was not a problem at all since I could easily flick the bike around even when I'm sitting on it without the heels touching the ground since it's pretty light weight. So in conclusion, Yes. You can definitely ride this with no problem.
