The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime is Proof That Quick Accelerating Hybrids Are Here

The #ToyotaRAV4Prime is the latest addition to the @Toyota USA hybrid family for 2021. Unlike the regular, #ToyotaRAV4Hybrid, the #RAV4Prime is fortified with an additional 83 HP for a total of 302, up to 42 miles of EV only range, and #Toyota also says this latest #RAV4 will accelerate to 60 in just 5.7 seconds, making it faster than the old V6 powered #ToyotaRAV4. It offers the same kind of quick acceleration that you get from a #TeslaModel Standard Range Plus but doesn't come with the same build quality compromises that you get with a #Tesla. It's on sale now and should be the RAV4 trim to get with a starting price of just over $38,000.

Happy Friday everyone! We apologize for uploading our RAV4 Prime video a few days late but we didn't get the car until after the July 1st embargo. Hopefully, our review was worth the wait, this is a Hybrid that will change a lot of enthusiast's perception of hybrid vehicles. We have no doubt that Toyota will sell as many as they can build.

This guy deeply hates Toyota and makes everything Hyundai/ Kia looks impressive even the most horrible ones. Two months ago in his video "2020 Kia Telluride vs. Toyota Highlander", the introductory picture (Kia Telluride is occupying the way and Toyota Highlander is on the sideline) is telling volume about his leaning toward the Kia/Hyundai brand. Two months before that, he went on trying to convince us that "Hyundai & Kia is rising in America. I have nothing against him being paid to promote a particular brand, but he should be honest with viewers by telling them what he is doing and why he is doing it.

I have a Toyota FJ cruiser with 230k miles on it. I also have a model 3. Both are great cars, but the Tesla is the future. There does not need to be a transition. Hybrids IMHO is a waste of time. It costs more to build , way more complex, dosent really offer any real world advantage over an ICE car. The cost savings in gas won't outweigh the cost difference in the purchase price of the car for most people.

Plus in some areas in the world, the infrastructure for electric charging is just not there yet. The range of these hybrids is FAR superior to any battery electric vehicle right now. And to say hybrids dont have a real world advantage over ICE is false. The fuel economy of a hybrid vehicle is amazing compared to an ice car. The new Toyota highlander hybrid can get 30mpg CITY. Tesla needs some time to fully charge it and there is nothing much charging stations available on tollways. You would need to take the exit, and find a charger. The 110 charger just shows that Toyota knows their customers. Toyota knows people don’t want to spend over a $1000 bucks having their house re-wired for 240. Everybody has a 110 outlet and the battery is of the perfect size that you just plug it in when you get home and it’s ready in the morning. This is smart thinking imo.

I like that it's practical, comfortable, performance oriented, and has just enough electric range for my daily commute. I’m sorry but this rav4 is in a league of its own. Sure some luxury plug-in hybrids may be faster , but they WILL NOT average anywhere close to 40 mpg once the main battery is depleted. I think the speed alone would be worth this over the stander rav4 hybrid. You still get a great efficient hybrid suv but have the speed if you need it. Plug you can plug it in and commute to work in full electric.

@@tubetop123 Autopilot? Autopilot is nothing more than a suite of driving assist systems like every carmaker has. Tesla's system can't even stop for a large stationary truck right in front of it. Autopilot isn't a selling point. 10 cameras make no difference when there's other systems out there that works better. It has 10 cameras yet doesn't even have 360 degree parking camera view. Safest car? Says who? The model 3 scored 96% for front occupant protection in euro Ncap. The model y is a model 3. Now if you look at euro Ncap you'll see that there are many many cars that scored higher even cars like the Mazda CX30 which is smaller got 98%. The model 3 got 86% for child occupant protection. Most cars scored over 90%. So again, not safer. I don't know where you tesla nuts get your info from. Because someone told you so? Okay okay....listen I can fly you know.

As for the Prime, I've had a deposit on one for eight months, so I think I might actually be able to get one this year. It addresses the only things I don't like about my 2019 RAV4 hybrid: more power and more all-electric range.
