I made this video while writing for Road & Track! Make sure to get it while it's hot! www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...
The 2020 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster is one of the fastest top-down motoring experiences on the planet. All-but identical to the SVJ Coupe, the 770 HP naturally-aspirated cruise missile capable of a ridiculous 6:44 Nurburgring time (a production car record last year) except for a bit of extra weight, the SVJ roadster is one of a kind, simultaneously leading its class in performance and remaining semi-analog in a sea of digital contemporaries. And the sound simply cannot be missed.
Lamborghini North America provided the vehicle, insurance, a night in a hotel, and 2 meals in exchange for this review.

The thing that shocked me about the couple was how brutal it was under full throttle but composed for normal use. No doubt, this is the best all-round performing Aventador. I can only imagine the heightened sensation in the topless form 😎

I'm 6'4, I dont even fit into an R8. Looks like I'm screwed for 95% of supercars. My dream is an Aston so hopefully I'll be ok in one of those
this is why i subscribe to this channel. that SVJ is one of the most gorgeous cars i have ever seen. i do not care what is quicker or faster, to me, this is the ultimate supercar. thanks again for bringing it like you guys always do. Matt always delivers as can be seen watching this. he is one cool guy.
I’m still surprised they were able to get a single clutch transmission to shift that fast. It’s no PDK, but it’s still damn fast. They somehow were able to get that ancient 9 year old single clutch transmission to drill keep up with more modern DCTs. Crazy.
My dad has the 2008 gallardo spyder 5.0L. We love the single clutch. It’s more true to the raw Lamborghini experience.
I love youtubers who make it simple and easy to skip the ads. Thanks matt!
The sound of these V12's during launch control is insane
Correction. The street car that came closest to the glorious sound of old F1 machines was a Lexus LFA.

The LFA & Carrera GT both sound glorious and probably have a better overall tone than the SVJ but I was at an event this weekend where there was one of nearly everything and the LFA & Carrera GT's are quieter than you would expect and the SVJ there was sooo loud in comparison. There were new DBS's, GT3's GT3RS's, a Senna etc etc and the SVJ was probably the loudest car there bar maybe the GT8... I'm only talking volume, I said to the GF the LFA sounded like a muted F1 car.
I’m a car and driver subscriber but I recently subscribed to Road and track because of you Matt - make sure they see this, because it’s the truth

"Not with H BLAZER on the license plate." 😂
With winners barely recognized publicly (if at all), iffy descriptions/details on prizes, and finishing dates of the drawings totally changing at the end of the giveaways, I'm not giving any money to Omaze again. On another note, hopefully it's just a coincidence, but I've had 2 separate debit/credit cards being shut down a while after being used on their website. Cool car though.

@LegendInThaMakin
4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Cairns you’re also talking about the very fastest stock supercar on the planet, of course it’s an exception. It has its own way of combatting traction by having boost by gear. It doesn’t lay down all 720 horses in the first gear plus it has a sophisticated dct, not sure how aventadors are now but they couldn’t even fit a dct in it in the past.
7:38 just amazing be sure you turn the sound on!!!
That is a beautiful car damn !!!!
Why did I have to watch this on Christmas because until Santa becomes real I'll never be able to own this piece of art.
I think the excitement of driving one would make it hard for me to fall asleep the next night, but would be worth it. In 1995 I worked at a large auto auction in Minnesota for about 7 months. Lots of rental return cars, 94 & 95 Mustang GT’s. The Lincoln LSC’s were impressive. One big disappointment was an SVO because that 2.3 engine was so unbalanced I think Ford should be embarrassed. No Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s. I did drive a 92 Mercedes SL500 which had the most precise steering I’ve ever experienced but the most stark dashboard of anything on the planet. A 300zx Twin Turbo was nice but the highlight was a yellow gold metallic 94 ZR1 that I was given the job of being its driver for that auction. I only got it up to 20 or 30 on the auction lot. I was told I’d be fired on the spot if I damaged it, drove fast or abused it. The last time I was to move it I didn’t know how to disengage the parking brake and another lot driver took over. That car was absolutely beautiful with that color.

Can you get one of these in automatic or manual only?
Would you get this or the Taycan Turbo and why? Cant decide
How much the price tag of maintenance cost budget if crash happened ? How much the price tag of spare parts ?
Shifts look absolutely brutal

Here in Arkansas there are certain roads where there is hardly ever an LEO. It just kinda understood if you drive like an ass on certain roads and wreck that you get what you deserve. Plus, some of these roads are isolated and your fastest way to a hospital is by Air-Evac.

Boss! 'Thrustmode is possible', nice! Quite a convertible too. Off topic, sort off: have you thought of doing a Celebrity One Take? If yes, then my comment is surplus to requirements. If it is new, consider Graham Stephan with his Lotus Exige 240S. Unsure who is paying for petrol, could be sponsored perhaps. And afterwards, doing a kitchen compare & contrast between Aeropress and his well advertised 20 cents iced coffee. Joking aside, thank you Matt Farah for a very lively performance as per usual and this is a serious remark btw, over & out, cheers! 😎 Oh, and lastly for now, possibly SAABKyle04 could be tempted to visit the Canyons with his restomodded GMC Jimmy, second episode right here!
