There's lots to Yomiko thats just so sweet and appealing. Her writing and character design command my full attention when she's on screen. Utterly magnetic.

Nice to know there are other folks out there who adore Yomiko

My favorite fictional character is also a Read Or Die character, Nenene Sumiregawa to be specific, particularly the incarnation of her in the tv series where she looks similar to her friend Yomiko

Yeah, I can see the appeal of Nenene. She was a nice, down to earth contrast to the Paper Sisters, like the disciplinary mother to keep them from getting into too much trouble. Of course, Nenene needed the sisters just as much as they needed her.

@@BillyJamesVA the main reason I like her is the fact the can relate to her a lot, what being a rebellious & under-appreciated quasi-polymath with anger issues and all, also the fact that she’s pretty and I have a thing for girls with glasses certainly helps. Although unlike nenene I’m far from down to earth

Great video! The R.O.D OVA and TV series are some of my favorites in anime. This is one where I greatly prefer the dub, especially in R.O.D the TV where there are so many real British accents and child actors to voice their characters. It makes them feel so much more real - although I will say, I preferred the OVA actress's take on Yomiko. Especially where she suddenly gains a British accent in TV that she didn't have before. Hellena Taylor did a great job as the character regardless, but her reputation as a voice actress is kinda soiled now LOL Still holding out hope we can get an official English translation for the light novels and R.O.D Rehabilitation someday! 🥲

Yeah, I’m holding out hope for translations of the other media too. While I initially wanted to say “don’t count on it”, I then discovered that Udon Press released an English translation of the R.O.D anime art book in 2013. So now I’m not going to rule out the possibility of the other media getting an English language release.

Okay I got about halfway through this video and decided to go watch the anime. Brb
