The 1414 Demon is powered by two 9.0L Mercury Racing V8 BiTurbo race engines each developing 1,100 horsepower which in total develops 2,200 horses. Just like any other powerboat, the Frauscher 1414 Demon made its first appearance in The Crew 2.
Story:
The founder Engelbert Frauscher started a boat building business on the Old Danube in Vienna in 1927 and moved with his family to Gmunden on Lake Traunsee after the Second World War. He built the Olympic dinghies for the Austrian Sailing Club, which were used at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. In the 1950s, the Frauscher boatyard built the motorboats Fisch and Starfisch and took over the representation of the Norwegian Yngling , a regatta boat.
In 1971, Hans and Ernst Frauscher, the founder's sons, introduced new building materials with the construction of polyester boats. After the legal ban on motorboats with combustion engines on Lake Traunsee came into force, the company opted for lightweight electric boats made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic. In the shipyard in Moosham near Gmunden, which was built in 1976, several hundred electric boats were produced in the following years.
From 1979, the Frauscher boatyard produced the H-boat after the license was taken over by the Finnish Sailing Association. This sailing boat was a success for the family business from both an economic and a sporting point of view. Hans Frauscher became world champion with the H-boat in 1982. Stefan Frauscher won the world championships with it in 2002.
From 1988, the headquarters of the Frauscher boatyard were located at the Weyer sailing harbor in Gmunden. As part of a restructuring, the company was converted into a GmbH & Co KG in 1993 and Stefan Frauscher, son of Hans Frauscher, joined the company in 1996. His brother Michael Frauscher is a certified boat builder and has worked for the company since 1982. In 2010, the Frauscher 717 GT received the “Powerboat of the Year” award. With the construction of a shipyard in Ohlsdorf in the Gmunden district and the opening of a sales location at Port Adriano on Mallorca, Frauscher entered the luxury segment. With the luxury yacht 1414 Demon, the company expanded its product range from inland lakes to the sea.
