The title was actually vacated after the rematch at This Tuesday in Texas where Hogan regained the belt. Jack Tunney said as there was outside interference in both matches, he vacated the belt

I remember all this going down. and wishing they would do a ppv match between Hogan and Flair. and found out through 1 of the wrestling youtube channels, that the reason they never did that was they did test runs on house shows and it did not go over well. cause the Flair vs Hogan was suppose t take place at Wrestlemania 6 I believe

Yep, Hogan won the rematch but I THINK, he hit Taker with the belt and was able to just barely schoolboy him to win...weirdest storyline I've ever seen WWE do, as it was obviously supposed to be heading to a Hogan/Flair Wrestlemania but somehow ended up Hogan/Sid and Savage/Flair.

I watched the replay of Hogan/Undertaker II and Hogan threw ash from the urn ⚱️ in Taker's eyes and Jack Tunney saw it go down. After Hogan won the belt, the belt was then vacated and the rest is history.

I wasnt a huge fan of Texas Tornado when I was growing up. But I gained a hell of a lot of respect for him when I found out he lost his foot after a motercycle accident in the 80s and he'd been wrestling ever since with a prosthetic foot. Very sad that he passed away jist over a year after this rumble

One of the greatest matches of all time in my opinion. Ric Flair and Bobby Heenan on commentary told literally the most amazing story you could possibly tell in a clusterfuck like the Rumble. And it may be the only time a commentator was fully there to tell a story for one performer in the match. Not only that, there were two other huge storylines that got addressed in the match. Randy Savage trying to get his hands on Jake Roberts. And Sid vs Hogan, though that was some really stupid writing.

Random Wrestling Sketches *Asuka, Nia Jax and John Cena all walk into the stadium, carrying bags full of grocery supplies. The figure of The Rock can be seen in the foreground, motionless and pointing* Nia: Hey, cousin. We just came back from shopping. You want some celery? *The Rock doesn't reply. They approach him, and suddenly realize how grey he is* Nia: Cousin? Dwayne? Can you hear me? (taps him on the shoulder, and gets a sudden realization) OH, MY GOD!! HE'S BEEN TURNED TO STONE!! John: What?! (rubs the Rock with his fingers, then winces at how rough his surface is) Ouch! Yeah, he's definitely more "rock" than normal. Asuka: (speaking in Japanese) Hang on, how do we know this really is him? How can we tell it's not just a statue? Nia: (puts her head to The Rock's chest) No, I can hear his heart beating in there. He's *not* a statue. John: Well, now I've got a question: how the heck did this happen? *Suddenly, a deep, mysterious voice speaks over them* Voice: If you want to free your friend/cousin from his grim fate, you must face the one who petrified him in combat! John: Who said that?! Who are you? Voice: I am Ares! The ancient Greek god of war! And I know it was Medusa the Gorgon who was responsible for petrifying your Rock friend! Asuka: (whispering in Japanese) "Ancient Greek god of war"? Is he for real? Voice: This is not a joke, Asuka. I really AM Ares, and you really are about to fight the real Medusa. So, before she arrives, provide yourselves with these protective sunglasses that I have left for you in a bag at the side of the ring. *They glance over at the bag in question, then walk over and take the sunglasses out, all except John* John: Oh, one more thing, Ares. Where are you speaking to us from? Ares: From the observation booth, of course! (They look up to the observation booth to see a man in a Greek helmet looking back down) I paid your Mr. McMahon generously to allow me a ringside seat. Now, enough talk, warriors! Ready yourselves, for the Gorgon arrives! *With a nightmarish hissing, Medusa herself walks down to the ring. She is an imposing, scaly figure, with long snakes hanging down from her head, tusks like a boar and a protruding tongue, and her hands end in big bronze claws* Auska: (in Japanese) Is she as ugly as she sounds? Ares: Worse than that, Asuka! Now, be warned, warriors. Blood from the Gorgon's right side can heal anything, including her own petrification. But blood from her *left* side will poison and kill! And as you know, anything Medusa makes eye contact with, she can and will turn to stone! So keep those sunglasses on- (sees John) *Cena, why aren't you wearing sunglasses, you fool?!* John: Because that way, I get to do *this!* (Just as Medusa starts crawling up into the ring, he slides in front of her, narrowing his eyes and waving his hand in front of his face) Hey, Medusa! You can't see me! *Astonishingly, Cena does NOT end up turning to stone in that moment. Even more astonishingly, Medusa's head ends up darting around in confusion* Medusa: Who ssssssaid that? Why can't I sssssee you? (she climbs into the ring, while John dodges around her, now focusing on Nia) Wasss it you who sssssspoke? Nia: (with a tone of barely-restrained anger, even though she can't see Medusa) Wow. You deaf as well as blind, snake-face? Medusa: (seething) Look into my eyessssssss and ssssay that again! Nia: I've got a better offer. (She throws up a kick into Medusa's groin, knocking the Gorgon backwards, but immediately cries out in pain and shakes her foot) AAGH!! SON OF A-!! WHAT'S SHE MADE OF?! Ares: Oh, did I forget to tell you? Medusa's skin is also coated in iron scales, so going at her with your bare hands and feet *might* not be the best idea! *Medusa glares at Nia and starts rushing towards her, only for John to attack the Gorgon from behind and beat her head with a chair* Medusa: OW!! WHO DID THAT?! *She wheels around and lashes out, but misses John by inches, whereupon he hits her again. Asuka then joins in, hitting Medusa with a barbed wire bat, before leaning in and spitting green mist into her eyes* Medusa: AAGHH!! MY EYESSSSSSSS!! I CAN'T SSSSSSSEE!! I CAN'T SSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE!!! Asuka: (in Japanese) You were not ready for Asuka, were you? Ares: YES! BATTER HER, MY WARRIORS! *Now blinded, Medusa is helpless to defend herself from the rapid-fire volley of blows directed at her with every weapon John, Asuka and Nia can find. Yet, however much they stun her, not one drop of blood is spilt* Nia: Right, screw these weapons! I'm getting hands-on! *Nia grabs Medusa by her neck, chokeslams her into the floor, and then pins the Gorgon down below her weight, grabbing her wrists when Medusa tries lashing out with her bronze claws* John: Whoa, Nia, what are you doing?! Nia: She petrified my cousin! (to Medusa, while forcing the Gorgon's clawed hands upwards towards her eyes) Eye for an eye, you snake-haired b***h!! *Just as Nia shoves Medusa's hands forwards, the camera cuts to John covering his mouth and gagging, while Medusa lets out a pained scream accompanied by a vile squelch* Nia: (slowly rises to her feet, her hands visibly wet with blood, while she breathes heavily) We wanted blood? We've got blood. John: Ughh... Wow, Nia, I can't believe you just... Ughh.. Ares: ...Well, it's certainly not a classic decapitation, like Perseus did, but, points to your originality! Congratulations, champions, Medusa is now blind and unable to petrify you anymore! Please take off your sunglasses, collect some right-side blood, and go to wake the Rock up. *Nia and Asuka both take off their sunglasses, and start collecting blood from Medusa's right eye where her bronze claw has... you know. John, meanwhile, raises a paper bag to his mouth to breath into until he calms down* Asuka: (in Japanese) Do you reckon we've got enough blood now? Nia: Yeah, we should have. Come on, let's go give my cousin a drink. *They all quietly slide out of the ring, and walk over to The Rock. Nia pulls out the small flask she was collecting blood in and pours it into his mouth. Seconds later, he starts shaking and twitching, and then the grey stone coating over his skin starts flaking off in big patches, until he's back to normal again* John: HE'S ALIVE!! (walks over to The Rock to put a hand on his shoulder) How're you feeling, man? Rock: (panting and grimacing) Like I got gravel in my mouth... Ugh... How long was I petrified for? Nia: You don't need to worry anymore, cousin. You're okay now. We'll get you over to the hospital until you're good to go around outside again. *She and John lift The Rock's arms onto their shoulders, and start slowly escorting him out of the arena, while Ares teleports into the ring in the background to get the blinded Gorgon to her feet. As they leave...* John: I still can't believe you did that, Nia! I still can't get that out of my eyes! Asuka: (In Japanese) Neither can Medusa, apparently. *Nia and John both give her a dirty look, while The Rock just looks totally confused*

Hey Ricky J, another awesome Rumble as always. So to explain what happened with Texas Tornado, he was stunned against the ropes and was in the process of being bodyslammed over the top rope, when Volkoff made his entrance, sliding into the ring at the exact spot the Tornado was about to be thrown over. When Volkoff slid in, it moved Kerry and whoever was bodyslamming him over, back just enough to make Kerry land back in the ring instead of outside. His name bar disappeared at the exact moment he landed on the canvas of the ring and he got up as though he were on the outside and he was trying to walk to the back, but the ropes prevented that. So, when the next entrants' name appeared on the screen, The Tornado blew away out of existence. 😂😂😂

The Repo Man was originally Smash. He later had a gig as Hole in One, a golfing wrestler. Also, Barry Darsow wasn't the original Smash. Moondog Rex was.

Undertaker and Hogan had a rematch at a PPV called This Tuesday in Texas where Hogan regained the title after throwing ashes into Undertaker's eyes. Due to the shenanigans for both that and the Survivor Series match, Jack Tunney vacated the title and put it up for grabs at the Royal Rumble. Hogan and Undertaker, as the previous (champions) were given an advantage of being guaranteed a number between 20-30.

Cena and Bautista. I really thought they timed it so they both hit. Craziest thing I ever saw to end a rumble. A tie!! Then being completely baffled as to why Vince was sitting down after storming to the ring!

That was the weirdest glitch I have even seen in one of these game plays with the Texas Tornado....Sags threw him out, but he sorta "flipped" back in...but if you look at the bottom of the screen, his power bar disappeared at that point, so he was eliminated when Sags threw him over the top rope...thats why he just started walking like a zombie in the corner...he was gone from the match, but the computer character was still in the ring for some reason lol...thats why he just vanished a couple minutes later...the game realized he was already gone, but forgot to actually remove him when it was supposed to lol...Pretty funny glitch...I wish he stayed stuck in the corner for the whole match lmao

I was never a fan of Sid, either as a heel or face. Was rooting for Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. That was a pretty intense fun rumble to watch. I had a feeling Ric Flair was not going to win? I guess it's good to have a different variety of wrestlers, so congrats to Sid. So the Texas Tornado..., what happened was Saggs actually eliminated him like Snuka's move to pick him up & throw them over the ropes. That's what happened, but it looked like a glitch when he was supposedly thrown over the ropes & was tangled in the ropes instead, but then the computer counted it as an elimination, hence why TX Tornado looked possessed in the corner? Thanks Ricky, a good rumble to watch! Can't wait to see the 1993 Royal Rumble!

The rule is if you go over the top rope and both feet touch the floor you are eliminated, Savage I think forgot he was in the Rumble and was doing something for the crowd, and the back team staff must have systematically slapped their heads and came up with something to get him back in lol

It's all about the memories, in this Rumble! Nine Deuce was such a crucial year...I already had 3 younger bros growin up, but I would get to have sleepovers every now and then, meaning up to 5 more of my friends! I started up this "Midnight Wrestling League" where we get the bedroom pitch dark. I coerced my younger bro to join, and soon after the lights went out: BAM! I saw just a flash of light. When I ordered lights on, my lil bro was the one holding the cardboard box that I was clocked with!

I think the Texas Tornado was supposed to get eliminated, but a glitch had him land in the ring instead of the floor. The AI had him start doing the walk back to the locker room, which he did into the corner until he would have reached it normally, which is why he disappeared. That's why nobody went after him; as far as all the computer opponents were concerned, he was already out.
