@@tordb they got the backing track, and Matty sings on top. It’s ok everyone does that, especially on a high budget TV show like this. It’s made like that to make the performance more clean. And I’m not sure but I think that there’s this thing called sidechain, basically when Matt sings his backing track is way more quiet than when he doesn’t.

Ya, it's because they're lip synced unfortunately (or at a minimum, assisted with a very heavy backtrack).

Matty’s vocals are so much more consistent now that he’s been clean - have loved this band for so long and they never fail to not disappoint, every album they’ve released is amazing

Unless I missed something his vocals have been great from the beginning and have only continued to improve. I think he kicked his addiction before the 1975 wrote their first album as a lot of his songs talk about the struggle

@@tbsdrummer87actually based on interviews and the songs themselves, I think Matty only kicked the the habit around the time of writing ABIIOR - just based on live performances before that era, his voice sometimes lacked power and range. I’d say he sounds so much cleaner and strong now, not that he was bad before though!

It's so true. They've somehow "tricked" people into thinking they're a silly, mainstream pop band. But there's so much happening beneath the sheen. The best band to emerge in a decade. I'll hang my hat on that.

I’m 59...it’s funny how you call out her age...of course we like it. It’s a band that consists of real musicians, such a rarity these days! First time I’ve heard of them... they’re great! Also...we can’t believe we are this age either...still feel like a child, and a teenager. My brain can’t keep up with a rapidly increasing number. 😉

The first “ Heart beat” his voice is just like HEAVEN.

All the instruments harmonizing together, maty's voice, THE INCREDIBLE ATMOSPHERE THEY CREATE. I'm so so glad I found this group and they're a part of my life.

If the background vocals sound literally indentical to the album, its not because they are that good live, its because it IS the stems from the album hahaha.

@@TheXshelbyX tbh I’m more of a fan of old rock/grunge/oldies but Taylor has been a fav of mine since she came out when I was in hs. She’s a year younger than me so I kind of grew up going through the feeling she was singing about I guess is a Way to put it? But she has been a constant fav so honestly I’m shocked I never heard of the 1975 I’m going to see them at the next festival they are doing in my state. I haven’t been to a concert since I was like 7 but they are worth it. They encapsulate so many different genres it’s hard to find a song I don’t love lol.

Ok, i didn't notice it before but, THAT, is a band that really really really really ENJOYS playing together! You can just see it when they move and when they hit a note right on time that they've just got one another's moves in their blood. That is how you know you've got a great band!!!

The 1975. I've loved them for years and this performance is going to bring a whole slew of new fans in the US. Stoked to see them in San Diego!

Hadn't heard of them till tonight. Wow! 2 thumbs up to O'Fallon and Co - keep bringing the great music! Great song, with a killer hook and they gave such an authentic performance that really captured the moment. It hinted at "epic" in a goofy kinda quirky way. And damned if it all didn't make being in love sound like a great idea. : ) I'm checking out their other stuff - what a great band.

They're an incredible band, great 80's vibes a lot of the time. Their latest album is the most modest and mature, but i definitely suggest some music from the older albums such as "I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful, yet so unaware of it" The mood is very similar to this song.

It’s incredible how amazing he sounds now he’s been living clean for so long. This is by far my Favourite album but maybe it’s because I’m the same age as him and we’ve gone through similar life choices and changes at the same time and now I feel grown up and I think he does too!

Matty is an incredible dancer, he grew up idolizing Michael Jackson on stage and I heard him say once he actually wanted to be a dancer when he was young. He only looks awkward in this clip because he’s so into it and can’t stand still. Their live concerts are so engaging not only because of the incredible music but how Matty dances and moves around on the stage. I highly recommend watching the music videos of Change of heart and the follow up video/story of this song, I’m in love with you. Also Oh Caroline and Sincerity is scary, all show just what a talented dancer he is. He’s the whole package, I just love him❤

Watching how his live vocals havr become more refined over the years have consistent is such a treat. With his more crisp and melody and songwriting abilities, I can't even imagine how good their next album would be if they did release one. Still enjoying this one. About You is my favourite atm. The way a part of the melody for The Birthday Party bleeds into it. Perfect

Been a fan of these since before they hit it big. Went to their concert at the O2 arena in London in 2016 which was a sell out. Their songs are unique and they always seem to manage to connect all their songs together whilst also sending out subliminal messages in their videos. Great band and great lyrics
