The 15 Most Creative N64 Logo Animations in Nintendo 64 Games

Ойындар

It is axiomatic that a good N64 logo animation presaged a good game!
The N64 logo is one of the most iconic and memorable console logo designs in living memory. It consists of the wordmark and an emblem featuring a 3D model of four letters “N” joined together. The figure “64” that is a part of the wordmark reminds of the fact that the console got its name after its 64-bit central processing unit.
Seeing the Nintendo 64 logo in static already created a very good impression, but some videogame companies animated it creating really witty and funny spinning compositions. For this video I have thoroughly explored the legacy of Nintendo's 64-bit console, searching for the most striking N64 logo animations.
In this video you will find:
• A game curation showing the most original N64 jingle intros and startups in the Nintendo 64 catalog
• A preservation of Nintendo 64 video games through their booting screens
• Information related to each game such as release date, developer company, game genre and system it was released on.
• Official game box arts with a 3D presentation.
• Educative and/or critical comments on the importance of the video game and why you should play it

⚠️ All gameplay recording, game curation and opinions included in this video, as well as editing is completely done by me
Bits & Beats creates videos about the history of video games. In this channel you'll find comparisons, retrospectives, technical analysis, but, mostly, game curations with the idea of having an important task of preserving video games, and make them relevant to society at large.
Curation isn't just about digging up neat games, but it's also about preservation, interpretation, and using one's knowledge to make it relevant to people. With my videos I want older gamers to look back and remember the influence of video games on their lives, and new gamers to understand the larger context of the series they're playing for the first time today.
I put significant time and creative effort into each one of my videos, including research, digging into archives, playing video games and recording hours of footage, selecting specific clips, writing reviews for each title, and making a very careful video editing in the way to transmit both educational and entertaining values to my audience. Every video takes a lot of hours to produce, because I strive to give my audience a consistent, high-quality content.
Fidelity and preservation of the video games is essential in Bits & Beats, so the recordings are made with the highest bitrate quality. It is done this way to preserve original game look and sound through modern footage, with no superfluous additions. I recommend you watch the video at 4K and 60 frames per second to get the best possible viewing experience.
I hope you enjoy my videos and find them useful!

It's too bad the N64 logo that crushed Jar Jar Binks was blown up, that one was a true hero. Also, it's a bit surprising that Nintendo allowed all of these portrayals of the destruction of their logo to be in games as they used to be uptight about anything that could potentially be perceived as disrespect being shown toward them. At least they seemed to lighten up a bit.

Can you provide examples of Nintendo being upright about perceived disrespect against them? I'm not saying you can't.

@@bigduke5902 That is a fair enough request. While not an example dealing with logos, Nintendo's former policy of demanding exclusivity contracts with third-party developers led to threats regarding perceived disrespect when those developers would so much as even mention them being required to sign such contracts. Revealing that information was viewed as disrespectful by Nintendo because it hurt the amiable brand image they had cultivated by revealing that they were actually acting like douchebags behind the scenes. Even though it was actually Nintendo hurting their own image with such policies, they took it out on the developers and threatened to take away their ability to release games for the NES for their perceived disrespect for the company. Former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi was a rather eccentric and vindictive person who was really protective of the company's image. If he weren't president of a game company, he probably could have made a rather interesting gangster. Oddly enough, he was still in charge during the N64 era. Maybe he was just too busy obsessively talking trash about Sony at the time to worry about how Nintendo logos were being treated in games.

@@bigduke5902 nintendo have always been uptight douchebags about everything. Had they not, the Sony playstation would not exist and nintendo would be dominating the market to this day. They had the companies backing them until the ps1 came out. Then most of the good ones left.

@@ophidianmind333 Actually, Hiroshi Yamauchi was very typical of a lot of CEOs back in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. People talk about how ruthless Yamauchi was, I often pointed to Jack Tramiel, he was even worse.

Rare showed Nintendo how good Silicon Graphics workstations were. Thats when Nintendo invested in them and Rare basically helped Nintendo design the Nintendo 64's processing and graphics capabilities. Part of the reason Rare went from good to great was because they already knew how to code for the Nintendo 64 before anyone else outside of Rare or Nintendo.

If Shantae had an N64 intro, it would be that Shantae would be sleeping on one of the logo's sides and eventually wake up. Shantae then looks at the player, gets up, starts giggling, and then jumps off, only for Sky to fly over the logo, Rottytops jumps from behind the logo while digging, and Bolo creates a hole into one of the sides of the logo. Everyone gets startled and Shantae rushes up to the camera and grabs it like a cell phone as if she will take a selfie, only to the turn into a tiger as she runs around the Wayforward logo behind the camera originally.

Rare being bought by Microsoft was my first big disappointment as a gamer, even though I was fully on the Xbox train after the transition off the N64. Both companies were going different directions. Nintendo has always been about creativity and being the "innovative use of withered technology," but Rare was starting to want a bigger budget for their games, and Nintendo wouldnt give in. Microsoft saw the opportunity and decided to give the Stamper family an offer that no one would go near, so Microsoft took the loss on a company that was already starting to lose its creative edge in the first place.
