Actual professional here. For a kid, great job. If I were to do this tomorrow at work I’d have a huge lawsuit, he used the top teeth as a fulcrum, and the laryngoscope would have broken all of them. He let go of the bougie, meaning he can no longer know for sure he still is in the cords. He attached a bvm without confirming endtidal or lung sounds, and his bagging was aggressive and hyperventilating the patient, which would likely cause barotrauma. Good job kid. You got a start, just refine your skills and you’ll be a paragod. Edit: he also forgot to inflate the balloon. That’s kinda important

@@unis_aaliyahmaybe it doesn't look the best (I def have no clue) that's not the point. The point is that this 12 year old is already excited about a future career, so much that he's _already_ training, and will be 6 years ahead of his future peers. They are encouraging him.
@rlynn8249
2 ай бұрын
@@gingerleamcwow435the point is that if you encourage this without giving him corrections then you have prioritized the ego of someone responsible for someone’s LIFE. There is absolutely no issue with this comment. Kids need encouragement AND correction. They literally clarified at the start that it was great for a kid. But they made it clear that he needs to be given those corrections as well. I mean seriously right now, do you want your doctor to be QUALIFIED or coddled? It’s not an easy field, you’re literally in charge of other peoples lives. If the 12 year old can’t handle tips on how to do it better then they won’t make it into the medical field, so maybe it’s time to realize the world can’t be as sensitive and coddling as you want it to be. The commentor is literally just pointing out that while he’s got skill, he has skill for someone at age 12. It needs to be modified, because what we currently call skill will turn into a malpractice suit if it stays exactly the same. Is it getting into your head at all? You can encourage and correct someone without the experience being negative. Also, I’m sure the kid isn’t reading every single comment. This comment is directed more towards the people who are watching him and teaching him.

Same thing with CPR, the patient isn't guaranteed to walk away from that with an unbroken rib cage Edit: Just came out of my first aid class, I was informed that it is not actually bones breaking or cracking it's actually a cartilage section that connects the cage to the sternum. It's just like if you crack your knuckles. Too hard for too long though and the cartilage will break off the bone. Same with my grandma. Every time when they have to change the tube wire, they shove that thing in her throat as hard as possible. She gag and twitch from the torture. The nurses are all female.
Learning the steps is merely the beginning for this kind of medical training y’all. He’ll be learning how to do this more delicately as his muscles practice memorization. Chill tf out with all these “yeah, and he’ll knock your teeth out while he does it the fastest,” and “he may be the fastest but he’s not the gentlest,” kind of comments. It’s a dummy. They’re not people. I’ve seen videos of medical training far more aggressive on the dummy than this kid was being. They don’t care about the delicate hands for this shit y’all. It’s just about getting them to remember all of the steps correctly and getting it done quickly to ensure the survival chances are their highest. For a dying person, each second is one closer to death. So you all should just watch this kid and feel as impressed as you can be that he memorized this technique of intubation at that speed.
When I learned to drive at age 12, this guy already knows how to save lives 💀

If this was done in real life, Patient would have broken teeth, damaged vocal cords, likely a damaged pharnx/oropharynx, and barometric trauma to the lungs (at a minimum). The balloon wasnt inflated either so the tube wouldn't have really helped either, among other things. For a 12 year old with no training, this is acceptable and its on a training dummy so really no harm caused, i applaud him for even getting the tube in since most laypersons would never. No it's not acceptable during the emergency time period especially the cardiac arrest times every milli second is a life saving important . If we do gentle at that time the patient will die immediately. Being a paramedic the kid was doing absolutely correctly with 💯%. In emergencies life depends on time at that time it cannot be gentle.
Congrats..... But bear in mind that no one can fail doing that so long they practice ❤
I don't know why people are being so ignorant. This is a 12 year old kid, give him a break! He's doing better than most of you could do. I can't speak for anyone else but I'd rather be "injured" yet alive by a fast intubation then not "injured" but dead because I was given a slow intubation.
@Nova778877
24 күн бұрын
I think you have it backwards. This is not a good job and definitely will injure you by breaking your teeth out which is unnecessary to save your life, in fact it could cause you to choke and block your airway . This airway tube is also not secured so it will slip right out making it pointless. Add to that, you need to actually be ventilated through it. The bagging was awful. So yeah, leave it to the professionals. For the record, paramedics are also this fast or comparable, but do it correctly. They aren't slow, duh.

But the congestion is gone right?
When I was intubated it was done so quickly that my bottom lip got caught between my teeth and the tube,cutting it slightly and bruising it. When I came round about 3 days later I demanded a mirror to see how bad I looked(I know, heavily medicated at the time)and said to the nurse they cut my lip! She gently explained that we wouldn’t even be talking right now had they have slowed down any procedure they had to do to save me. It may look, and yes feel, brutal sometimes but they are trying to save your life not give you a lollipop and wrap you in cotton wool. Respect kid 💪🏻

This. I never had this happen but ive seen how to pack a serious injury. Like big bleeding gushes And its basically JAMMING VIOLENTLY INTO U A WHOLE LOTTA GAUZE to stopper the injury Whicj would inevitably i imagine: HURT LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER but ud most likely live so. Immediate triage stuff like thats important. At least for intubating. Your usually prolly unconscious or having so many other myriad of an issue or issues. U hardly notice the intubating. If ur even conscious in the first place. So it has tht leg up compared to wound packing where u coulr still very much be conscious and have no pain medication Plus dont they usually medicate intubated people until the tube is out unless necessary? Because even if u know its necessary logically. And tht ur breathing. Its so uncomfy tht you on instinct try to pull it out or cough or etc. So yea.

Literally the skills that this kid is learning is so important my mom would have still been here this day if an EMT actually knew how to intubate a person properly like this boy does even if it seems quick having a lack of oxygen causing brain death is so much worse and heck even when you go to the hospital and you have time and you're okay they mess up intubating you when they did a colonoscopy and endoscopy on me they left my body biting down on my own lip so hard that I pulled a chunk of flesh off the people in the comments are all stupid and have never been through anything the remotely needed anything like this we need people out there who are inspired who like to learn and the fact that this kid is going out there and doing it even if he doesn't become an EMT or a doctor he has the knowledge the tools to do so I never want to see let my dad had to do to keep my mom alive when they let a rookie train on my mom like a dummy leaving her to die I was only 13 I miss her

@@aidenflame1576 you seen what some vets have had to do to survive in the heat of an ugly firefight? Literally pack their own bulletholes with dirt and sand to plug it up. The fact they survived to tell the story means it worked but man it must suck to jam in literal sandy dirt into a bleeding hole in your body. Desperate times means desperate measures, I'd rather a busted lip and missing tooth than brain damage from lack of oxygen
