2:02 For the cobalt I most definitely agree on reliability!! My mom had one for 5-6 years and did one major repair which was the transmission (rebuilt) she got rid of it because she needed more space but the car never ever gave us any issues throughout its time. The odometer had about 200k miles too

I had the 2.2l when the first cobalt came out. Added the Garrett full turbo kit for it and it was insane. Had to swap out the cluster to the ss 2.4l and was able to top it out over 140
I have a 1999 6th Gen accord as my first car, transmission gave out at 260k miles but I had one imported from Japan with 80k miles and installed at a shop for $1k it’s amazing and of course I put 4 2 1 headers, a gutter out cat, & a Yonaka catback to make it loud and fun but not annoying and ricey
Can’t wait to see how the integra build looks when you’re done. I like seeing the budget builds. Really cool stuff!
Saturn S Series, available in coupe, sedan, and wagon form. 91-02 chassis and engines (mostly) interchangeable. Very very light cars, like around 2200lbs. Full independent suspension, twin cam 1.9L 4banger making 125hp, short ratio 5 speed transmission. Lift it, lower it, track it, it can do it all for half the price of a civic and can mop the floor with a stock dc4 teg. 2g Acura TL/CL would be another great option as the have the J series. Type S models come with the j32a2, the one a majority of people use for J swaps

completely agree on the S Series! me and a friend of mine had matching sedans and absolutely loved them until mine got totaled... but now i have a 2g eagle talon so i think that trade off was worth it lol

a pretty cool coupe i've been considering buying that goes for under 1k is the Buick Reatta, they were fwd with the bulletproof NA 3.8 V6 (170hp/220tq). they look pretty cool but it only came with an auto, so it's not really the most fun, but it's a great daily imo.

@@Scoodily i've found a lot of buick reatta parts cars as well so i don't think finding parts will be much of a problem, plus there seem to be groups dedicated to sourcing parts for them, getting them that way isn't cheap so i'd probably just look for parts cars and get em that way.

Try the Buick regal gs or the Pontiac GTP they have the same 3.8 v6 and they’re supercharged but fwd + auto
I have a Pontiac grand am, but it has a ram air V6 engine in it. I love it and it is a very fun car to drive.
3rd Place, JETTA my brother owned a 2002 Jetta and let me drive it since i was 9, that was the funnest car i ever driven and it felt so controllable
You are a blessing bro
happy new year to you aswell petrol head🏎
I wildly disagree on the Crown Vic being unreliable... those things are fucking tanks. Easily 500,000 miles if they are maintained properly
5:12 - Related to the Pontiac Grand Am is the Oldsmobile Line (2000-2004) (Alero, Intrigue, & Aurora). Those are underated as well
I bought a B5 Passat for $650. It was a great car. Fun to drive, even more fun to modify.
Since you mentioned the grand am/prix you should also look at Monte Carlo SS' from the 2000s my boyfriend has a 7th gen civic sedan, its really pretty good
Love the vids! This channel gone keep growing and you’ll be outta the basement pretty soon lol (no disrespect)
4:40 press the brake hard enough to, engage the brakes on the wheels that don’t have traction, but not hard enough to restrict power from going to the wheels that do have traction. Open diffs send power to the wheel that had the least traction. Multi reason, cheaper, safer for driving while less of a chance to break something.
The accord that generation you listed at least it was just like the Acura TL of that generation. It was prone to transmission failure so make sure you get it in manual instead of automatic
I have the 99 accord with a manual transmission and I'm curremtly at 390k miles. Still running good.
That Suberu Outback in the snow was sweet and I have a MK4 Jetta and I love it I just need a water pump.
or a buick regal or anything with a 3800 (3.8) v6 in them, they love boost and would be the ultimate sleeper, i’ve seen regals for 800
The Skyrim music in the back had me trippin I didn’t think it was coming from the video 😂
Great list.
I had a 2001 Wolfsburg Jetta 1.8T it got down pretty well with some bolt ones and a custom downpipe
My mom had a jeep xj 2 door the "sport" trim package. Sport didn't mean anything but jeep put a cool sport sticker on it. I learned how to drive a manual in it.
the Mitsubishi Galant is for sure a good call, looks super sharp and can look great when done right.
I've got a Cherokee 2 door 5 speed. Absolutely a blast to drive. Not fast at all. But for sure worth owning. Will climb anything.
Great and realistic list.
Bought a 250k mile crown vic for 500 bux 3 years ago, have had to put a rear end in it cause i took it to the drag strip and blew the fuggn diff but since have replaced it with an lsd and it has otherwise been more reliable than my two volvos or my 97 buick riviera with the “reliable” v6
Never owned one but the 1991 - 1997 Mazda MX-6 LS (not the miata) can be found for dirt cheap and come with a 164 hp V6 and a lightweight frame giving it a 0-60 time of eight seconds and a Nurburgring time of 9:29. Not bad considering how cheap they are.

The best fun to drive, reliable, indestructible cars under $1000 is a Toyota Celica. A 2000-2005 manual transmission GT can be found for 1,000. With some looking you can even find the GTS with 180hp stock.
Nothing like someone talking about cars with Skyrim music in the background
My first car was actually a 2002 Civic sedan. Had 250k miles and still running strong!! Got it for 1.5k. It had the D17 engine that was 1.7L not 1.6 tho.

I've owned a 7th gen civc, and im telling you that the d17 in these cars CANNOT handle boost AT ALL (i know from experience, hahaha) you will blow your engine up trying to boost it. It's honestly a AWESOME daily, though. I put coil overs on mine and some nice si wheels and a rsx bumper swap, and you got a nice daily. I loved mine, but i blew my motor, so i sold it 🤷♂️ honestly. The 2002 civic sedan was my second civic. I bought it in 2002. Black paint carbon hood. Just new intake and exhaust sway bars turbo. fast as fuck in the city and it looked awesome. People just jump on trends and hatin certain cars for no reason tho. Like the Eclipse.
Hey as sad as it sounds my pre-2011 hyundai accents were both under 1000$ and doing an crap load of forum lurking you can use the elantra 2.0l motor from 06-09 and being a "global engine alliance" motor it's a knock off 4g63!!! Meaning Honda hatch fun! Also meaning that the elantras are hp makers and the older grandma sonatas came with a DOHC 4g63!

I had a 2002 VW TDI and can say don't let the 90hp fool you. It is quick and fast. Mine lasted over 300k. It had everything except GPS and BT. It was comfortable enough to transport 6-footers in the back. It wasn't as reliable as Hondas or Toyotas, but was more reliable than Chryslers and GM/Chevy. BTW, showing a Tahoe getting stuck wasn't appealing or convincing.
