The 100 Best British Films of All Time | Empire Online | 2023

Ойын-сауық

Empire Online is the official digital destination of the world’s biggest movie magazine - with the very latest film news, decades of movie reviews, and topical discussions of the biggest talking points in the world of cinema.
From genre-centric lists of the greatest films ever made, to the very latest Marvel and DC updates, to comprehensive guides on the most exciting future movies, Empire Online has everything you need to keep up with the very latest goings-on in Hollywood and beyond.
“The British are coming,” trumpeted Chariots Of Fire screenwriter Colin Welland infamously at the 1982 Oscars. In truth “the British” were already there. They’d been making movies for over a century, with plenty of stick-on masterpieces in that number. Comedies, dramas, war films, horror... British filmmakers have proved they can tackle any genre, and the best British movies around can be anything, putting the best British movies up against anywhere else in the world.
Team Empire put their heads together, got into some spirited debates and ultimately came up with their choices.
From Hitchcock to Lean, Powell and Pressburger to Loach and Boyle, Empire’s 100 Best British Films celebrates the very finest of them. Here's the list...

That is an excellent list. Some of those titles won at the British academy awards. I have a video on that, too.

No mention of what qualifies as a British film? Made in Britain? Financed by British money? British lead actors?

There's a link to the article in the description, but i dont think they strictly define what a British film is. Seems to me that as long as it's a British production, it counts, regardless of the cast or location, i.e. Slumdog Millionaire (#58).

Meh...it's just the opinion of one group. I am going to do at least 2 more videos featuring other groups' opinion of the best British films.
