You should use the spare tire trick : place a spare tire upright next to the shrub, put the rope over it and pull. It will pull the shrub in a vertical direction instead sideways/horizontal, what is much easier and more effective!! Tom 😎

@@idadho roots can be a hazard one of my neighbors had a couple spots where the roots were a tripping hazard for him to get to his chickens while walking his dogs. I was kinda aprehensive about putting my hackzall through the hard ground (it's alot of rocks and gravel but I cut out the rough spots and trimmed the yard a bit including a lot of branches putting serious pressure on his power lines (don't try this I'm just sharing lol) it's always good to help someone in need. Good tip on soaking the roots the ones around here much like the trees seem to be made of steel and bulletproof. My dewalt chainsaw struggles when it gets halfway through the diameter of ~12" thick logs/trees.

@@keith-kalfas try my stump removal techniques, maybe on a smaller 20-30" tree if you have a smaller saw. Clean back loose stuff, tip end of bar down and plunge in, work your way around it and it should be shaped like a pencil slightly. Then repeat the process from inside outward to get the outer ring below dirt level. With a backup chain incase I hit something, I can do a 30"er in about 4-6 minutes and very very little mess, if your ever in WV I'll show you!

Hey Keith.....there is this great knot that most arborist use its called a "running bowline" it definitely will hold more weight and tension then the carabiner.......and I also suggest this knot if using your arborflex in a crotch or false crotch situation....chances are your arborflex won't fail but a carabiner doesn't carry the load maximum that the rope tighted properly will.

Leader over a rooftop ....the two top knots your gonna see in the tree service industry is the running bowline and the Blake's hitch ....And anything above 10-12ft you should use a climbing belt with a steel core lanyard and helmet they say arbor chaps too but I'm in the south and Chaps are extremely hot....I used to do a lot of Coconut palms 50-60 ft in the air , every coconut bundle had to be roped down a lot of times these coconuts where on waterways that you couldn't get a bucket truck too .... Need less to say Tree trimming is considered extremely dangerous work .......BE SAFE OUT THERE AND ALWAYS USE YOUR PPE
