Rheinmetall is also one of the contractors vying for the Challenger 2 SLEP Program since they introduced the 130 mm gun in a Challenger 2 Tank chassis.

Except for hard-kill APS being a thing... until ATGM are able surpass speeds that would be too fast for APS to intercept, or be able to send enough ATGM at once to waste all ammunition of the APS system, they will be useless against those tanks.

@@zenki4666 That's soft kill and no, they are neither "too fast" nor "too smart". Laser projectors and IR smoke still work on those guidance systems.(only wire-guiding cannot be disrupted by soft-kill, wire-guiding is however slow,awkward to use and with limited range) However hard kill is a counter projectile that knocks the missile of course, causes premature explosion or destroys the body of the missile completely. The missiles would become only become too fast if they reached hypersonic speeds(like Zirkon anti-ship missile), however that would require increase in size so large that they would become non-manportable. There is no foreseeable future where ATGM outrun protection measures on tanks, not until some massive technological breakthrough.

The m 95 degman project was shut down by the croatian government in the early 2000s. Their argument was that the tank was too expensive, but they were actually pursuing a demilitarization of Croatian Armed Forces.

They purchase job of modernisation of Kuwait's M-84 and loose. So they just pronounced Degman as non perspective. That's the reason why that project fails .

They stoped the m 95 degman program because of the money yes but they didnt say anything about demilitirization and dhey will now probably build m84d thank which is m84a4 but modernized with m 95 degman technology. The m95 degman was ment to be the tank that would kill the enemy tank before it sees him. I know im from Croatia.

I know I'm from Serbia - licence for production of T-72 (M-84 is build under that licence ) owner is VTI (Military technical institut Belgrade) . Licence is for 1000 tenks and if some factory try to build thank based on T-72 without licence that factory will be penalised with 100 milon US $ from Russians . Croatia will never build not one tank ,not now ,not in the future, that is based on T-72 . Just forget that idea. ;-)

There could be K2 black panther, type 10, T-84 etc. But M-95 and PL-01 in middle of nowhere? There are plenty of 3.5gen tanks you can find. PL-01 is a modified version of CV-90-120-T and its not a TANK! And M-95 is canceled project. pretty sure you didnt do any research on this.

And the most important: PL01 do not exist. They build a model (not even prototype) and said "it would be good to build such thing". Second thing how się they get Leo3 visualisation? The project is on conception stage of desired capabilities od the tank. One thing we know it will probably have 130mm gun (only because reihnmetal already Has it). Giving those tanks to the list i like putting here K2PL, the korean concept proposal for Poland based on K2. Sorry but this movie contains errors, myths and lies.

Leopard 3 and PL-01 are so futuristic! Armata, Altay and Black Night (more like Black Knight, ha-ha) also look like something new and interesting, others just give an impression of a wholesome upgrade to what was already existing. Interesting observation: most of mentioned countries widely used battle tanks in WW II. Is this some kind of "tank addiction"?

Well, that picture of "Leopard 3" is only unnoficial vision with no connection to the actual project.. And PL-01 is a light tank prototype based on Swedish CV90120-T.

M-95 has been in prototype stage since 1995, it will never enter production because it was made on M-91 Vihor a Yugoslav MBT that was under development. T-90MS entered production and s still being made, India placed an order on 550 T-90MS tanks...

And that is mainly bc the T-90MS is rather expensive compared to the T-90M and T-72B3 tanks. since russia cant even afford to make a serious T-14 fleet... thier last will would be to spend even more money on a T-90MS

The tech behind these tanks sure is fascinating.

I don't think that Degman M-95 will ever be in production. If it will, it'd already be in the news in Croatia.

PL-01 is support small arms tank or scout tank. Leopard 3 wil be hybrid from Leo 2A7 and Leclerc (turret, cannon).

I think tanks will eventually become some sort of VTOL platform, highly maneuverable and deadly.

Few corrections about this: first would be PL-01, that thing didn't made past wooden mockup stage. Second: T-90MS is a export variant, russian armed forces has no interest in adopting those. Third T-14 entered at what barely can be called "limited" service (if my memory serves only around 30 vehicles) in the grounds of being too expensive to manufacture, instead they are pushing for T-80BVM and T-90M and AM upgrade programmes. Forth: M1A3 programme was talked for years and nobody knows what it'll look like only proposed upgrades were considered such as installing autoloader with XM360E1 smoothbore and (possibly) a licensed version of MT 883 diesel. And lastly: The MGCS its unknown what it'll look like when it'll the enter the service since it only recently entered design concept stage (Computer presentation models and designer artworks), (also I saw what you did with the pics googled from net: for M1A3 you used what I believe was Thumper MBT which was US '90s attempt to mount 140mm smoothbore gun. And Leopard 2A4 Revolution armor package (up-armor package for Leopard 2A4) for "Leopard 3") it is also said that MGCS will most likely feature the new Rheinmetall L/51 130mm smoothbore gun. One bonus fact: Challenger 2 Black Knight lost to Rh (Rheinmetall) Challenger 2 LEP since Rh bought majority stake at BAE and British army are already considering scrapping the old L30 rifled gun for a smoothbore one: L/55 in this case. Meanwhile Rh demonstrated a Challenger 2 test bed utilizing a new turret with L/51 as well.

Did PL-01 development is in progress and isn't already cancelled ? I mean i didn't heard that it was cancelled but actually i didn't heard anything about this project for long time. PS. The PL-01 project is dead tbf; it was a CV90120 with cardboard on it; as for the new tank for poland its the K2PL; its a tank which would be developped from the south korean K2 Black Panther (like the Altay); for now its only a concept model; as for the possibility some pb does exist: 1st the money (they just bought F-35 and Leopard 2 PL); 2nd the weight (its probable that the army will not like a 62t tank); 3rd the probleme already on K2 (engin manufacturing probleme and poor armro coverage)

All you're mentioning are the main stats. Idk bout others but PL-01is not even an MBT its a light tank that has an armor that can be covered in anti-radar stuff or other things.

This article has not aged very well. Turkish Altay tank has been in prototype stage since 2008, and finally found an engine, produced in Korea. Russian T 90 MS is being used for target practice by Ukrainian antitank crews. The Russian factory it might eventually produce the Armata T 14, has been shut down due to lack of availability of important components, due to Western sanctions.

Imagine an Abrams but with an L/55

The Problem with the Merkavs is that they dont have Safe Ammorags with blowout pannels nor are they made to fight other Tanks. thier idea to use the engine and transmission as extra armor for the crew is and outdated system as APFSDS rounds dont really give all to much about a litte structual metal or alloy in thier path, it really only works against HEAT rounds, rockets and missles.

I really really really want the M1A3 Abrams tank to have a diesel engine.

There is also for their need for no diesel engine because a power unit has finally been standardized on the Abrams which also improves its fuel efficiency while in idleThe gas turbine is quite efficient unlike what you would hear in the Media. also no plans to give the Abraham's a diesel engine there is no need nor benefit to receiving a diesel engine.

This is not the Leopard 3 but the MGCS and this is not an evolution of the Leopard 2 but a new tank based on French and Germans works at 50/50

The video could have been good if: the Altay have hos real gone (its a 120 not a 125); the T-90MS is the export variant of the T-90M so why choosing it? Why taking the challenger 2 Black Knight? Its quite minor addition when you see Challenger 2 LEP and Challenger 2 LEP with the 130mm from Rheinmentall; the Leclerc is AMX not AMC; PL-01 is an abandonned project; moreover its some carsboard over the CV90120; Leopard 3 is not a thing; more over you show a leopard 2 revo pics for it... you could have show the art model of MGCS or the Leopard 2AX (which is planned for the next decade)

@@kingkennyoffootbal4252 as far as i know i didnt put any very important info: Altay have a 120 not a 125mm it is commonly known; Leopard 3 is actually a myth; there is nothing about that for now; the Leopard 2AX can become it why not but we are not in the future so who know; AMX Leclerc is the real designation that is comonly known and said; Challenger 2 Black knight is not that luch an improvment over the CLEP and CLEP with 130mm so i said correct thing easy to verify actually

@@castelainteva8082 you dont know much about tanks. Infact Leopard 3 was a project. It soon turned in to the challenger and leopard hybrid with the 130mm gun. Plus altay at first on the prototype was gonna be fitted with a 105mm then they tryed a 125mm gun. Those two were scrapped and they went with the German 120mm L55. Altay is based on older designs on the interior. It is a horrible tank. It has all of its ammo exposed to the crew.

Like old chariots, nice to look at but a 200m velocity gun is easily capable of achievement, I think tanks have had there day, hopefully war will follow

@Clandestino the ALTAY is nothing but a LEGO K2 with even more Leopard Parts then the original K2...plus german government denied and banned all tech export from Leo to Turkey . So it will propably never go in production as planned.....especially now that the turkish economy and currrncy is plunging. They did not even upgrade the Leo' s they allready have to the Standard that iy even better than the most modern Leo variant ( at least that's what they bragged about....but could not do without german companies help ) . Turks only backwards engineer tech from other Nations....or re-combines said tech to emulate " own original design" . But that is also what kids do with Lego set's.

@@Azrael108 What is wrong with buying, transfering or reverse engineering technologies and even developing it ? Technology is not a secret anymore and every company/country is doing this. İf so, nearly every product is a kind of copy of another one. On the top 100 defense industry company list 2020 there are seven Turkish and three German companies. Germany is producing sofisticated weaponary sice many years but Turkey is very new in this sector. So take care about your "not able to fly jets and not running tanks" because of lack of spare parts instead of talking about others. Thank god that USA is protecting your back. @@bledakaan this list criteria is stupid, Turkey is buying way more equippement than Germany, that's why there's so many turkish enterprises, that doesn't show how much they are dependant on other country technologies nor the quality of the stuff they build
