Ironic how the only game that lets you go and fight the final boss almost immediately without beating any other dungeons or sidequests is also the longest game.

@mageius
Жыл бұрын
@@subswithnovideos-oz4zo It's because the way the Twilight Princess community handles low% for the game and the HD version. Unlike a lot of Zelda game speedruns TP includes counting small keys, Boss Keys, Warps and a few other things when it comes to low% being the minimum amount of items possible to beat the game. Due to this there's a couple of small keys that can be skipped by using the fact that in the original version of the game Link's when picking up an item for the first time when that text box appears is missing 1 frame so it's possible for the ability to slowly clip in to a few walls and doors letting you skip a couple of things because he doesn't have any collision detection while in it by the maximum amount of movement gotten from this is very slow requiring at least a few hours and there's at least 2 of them in the run. If I recall at least 1 is like 4-5 hours and another is close to like 8ish hours because of how thick the object they are clipping through is. Yeah I know it's kinda a why would you type thing but the leaderboard is ranked by number of items collected first then time. There's actually a nice KZread video a top Zelda speedrunner did on it for 1 of the more speedrun focused channels if you want a more detailed explanation which is quite good on explaining it I'd actually recommend looking up if you're interested. As a speedrunner myself I can tell you though the category doesn't have many people actually run it because "yeah a lot of runners have that we know why but really type thought on it. Although you also gotta respect the few that decided to do a run because they felt like it."

I think the biggest reason OOT took me so long was always the Water Temple. My PB for 100% in OoT is around 11.5 hours on the GameCube Collector's Disk, and that was after a very long summer break of doing nothing but playing the game without any school or needing to have a job to take up my time. By the time the 3DS remake was released, I had gotten so rusty that by the time I got 100% there I was 22 hours in. It was rather depressing, really.
I'm surprised that that the Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time Master Quest wasn't included. I feel it deserved to be a part of the entry like the remake
With BOTW sequel coming, there are now two separate timelines. 1.) the first one is the original and devastated one where King Rhoam made the same mistake by forsake technology as the Hyrulian ancestors did. Thus, Calamity Ganon takes control of all the 4 Devine Beasts & the Guardians, and the 4 champions are tragically killed. Link is rejuvenated 100 years later, help Zelda sealed Ganon away and became the hero of Hyrule. 2.) After Zelda first awakening her power, Terrako is activated and travels back in time to the Hyrule before those dark times. Warning Zelda, Link, Impa and the champions the destruction Ganon will bring upon on her 17th birthday. Terrako summons Sidon, Rija, Teba and Yunobo to save the champions from fate. However the malice of the Calamity also went back in time to corrupted Terrako’s counterpart, and accelerate Gabon’s revival with Astor as it’s pawn. Ganon is sealed once more and the heroes from BOTW timeline went home. While Windwaker and Orchestra of Time I enjoyed playing when I was a kid, The Breath of the Wild series is my favorite Zelda games I enjoyed most.

@@a.jthomas6132 yeah but Nintendo has basically already stated that age of calamity as well as the other Hyrule warrior games aren't cannon they are sort of what if games. I get that you like the game but I find it kinda insulting to say it is cannon when the creators have already said that it isn't. It's a what if game and that's just fine. That doesn't lessen it's value I think it's a fun game and I like that it explains aspects of the lore but that doesn't make it a cannon part of the series unless the creators say it is and they probably won't since it already serves as a fan game.
@a.jthomas6132

@@rachelnielsen167 Than how can you expect Age of Calamity not canon? Terrako brought Rija, Teba, Sidon and Yunobo from the BOTW timeline to change the past champions’ fates and offer Hyrule a second chance. So story wise, it felt canon because of their experiences and being inspired by Link’s heroic acts. Nintendo should reconsidered it if there is a way to continue on with the story as we lead towards the sequel.
I've played a lot of Zelda games and Breath of the Wild took the longest, but Wind Waker is my absolute fav. The story's great, the quests are pretty good, the characters are awesome, and Toon Link (who I more often than not just call Buttlet thanks to the Game Grumps) is such a savage little kid that he could probably best some of the other Links in a fight just with his stink eye alone

That’s arguably one of the easiest temples in future link’s timeline. It’s so creepy and cool looking, I love the music, the monsters, the ghost ship and you guessed it! BONGO BONGO ✋ 🤚 🥁 It’s an amazing dungeon with a lot of lore about Hirule’s untold history, i think water temple or the fire temple are worst than the shadow temple any day of the week. The shadow temple is full of surprises and it keeps you guessing. Tbh all the temples feel like a hassle in the future timeline, specially the Forrest temple there’s a lot of back tracking. If I had to pick one I pick the spirit temple as my favorite is very straight forward and I love how you have to come back as a child to explore one half of it.

I think the one I played the most was A Link to the Past and the one I played the least was Link's Awakening. I don't think either of these Zelda games are extraordinarily long compared to many of the other Zelda games, but finding all of the crystals, pendants and instruments does take quite the finesse. There's also the fact that I have no clue on how to complete the second half of the second dungeon of Link's Awakening. I managed to defeat the mini boss, but eventually found myself running in circles shortly after.
My favorite is Ocarina of Time the 64 version despite being a short game it's still a masterpiece I pray for a remake The longest and least favorite is Breath of the Wild to me it was more like a survival game than an adventure what I found a let down was the Master Sword it even had to be recharged which I found annoying I've been playing games for 30 years and The Legend of Zelda is my number 1 franchise

Good question. Probably Majora's Mask for me. But there's so much WORTH doing before going to the Moon...even though it all isn't necessary. Maybe I just like the ingenuity of the Anju and Kafei story?
Out of all The Legend Of Zelda games I have played, Breath Of The Wild took me the longest to beat overall, with all the content it had the main story, side quests, extras, and just exploring it did take me over 200 hours to beat it, it is definitely a great game and I'm glad I played it, now I can play it's DLC and I can't wait to see how long it will take me to beat it ✊

Of course Oracle of Ages is longer since it is a more puzzle-heavy game rather than action-oriented like Oracle of Seasons. On the other hand, I did not expect Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks both made it to the list, I thought they are short games but I think thats just me playing them over and over again, thats why I did not noticed how long they are because of enjoyment I feel whenever I played those games. Edit: I am more suprised Wind Waker made it higher to this list.
MojoPlays, I had bought Breath Of The Wild as a dlc bundle last year and began it on Feb.19, 2021. Just last month in May did I finish BOTW in it's full completionist-entirety on Master Mode as I had done the Normal Mode likewise in sort of a Speedrun completionist of just 2.5 months between Feb.19--May 2nd. Altogether, bringing my total logged time to a STAGGERING amount of 2,140 hours for BOTH modes! I believe two words exemplifyingly epitomizes that unprecedented accomplishment feat- INSANELY BONKERS 🤯🤯🤯!
I remember taking forever to beat a link to the past, but since it's not on this list, it must be pretty short by comparison!
Much as I love Majora, I don't think it deserved to be on this list. The game's time-travel mechanic basically forces you to learn how to speedrun it.

There really should have been an honorable mention for Zelda 1. If you try to play it blind and without any sort of guide, it could be one of, if not the, longest Zelda game. I've heard of people who grew up with it playing it on and off for literal years before being able to beat it. Gotta love some of that NES obtuse-style difficulty. XD You could probably do similar things with Castlevania 2 (Simon's Quest, not Belmont's Revenge) and Metroid 1.

Ain’t no ways skyward sword takes longer to complete than twilight princess. I could swear I needed much more time to do 100% on tp.
Honestly, I can really agree with Ocarina of Time. My second ever completion, being my first 100% completion, only took me like 18 hours playing it only casually.

I love Zelda. TP and MM are my favorites
I have played Breath of the Wild. Here are the following: Mission Completed: Beat the game New Mission: Obtain the DLCs and complete the game 100% Mission Failed: 30% of everything is collected and played 235 hours or more.
I remember when we first got the Wii with the game bundle including Zelda. It took my dad almost 400 hours to play through it lmao. No joke. And then one time I went to play it and somehow deleted it. He was pissed to say the least. But I’ve gotten very good at the game. Beating it almost a dozen times, I can beat the main story of the game in about 24 hours on the nose. Last time I played it, I did the twilight hand/orb level in 15 minutes. Didn’t lose the ball once.
Definitely had the most hours on twilight princess and botw
From December 2017 to April 2018. I've poured in long hours playing BOTW trying to save Hyrule.
I feel like Breath of the Wild light story wasn’t it for me but I enjoy exploring it and seeking references.
While ocarina of time was the first loz game I've ever played to completion, twilight princess was my absolute favourite despite not being able to finish it.
I wish I still had my Nintendo Switch, I still have all my old switch games and looking at them reminds me of how fun the switch was but then it reminds me that I don't have one anymore

Fun list
I've probably played botw for the longest and Majora's Mask for the shortest time. I also played Ocarina of Time for a decent while.
Oh man, I put like 300 hours into BOTW. Just loved it so much!
Link to the past was one of my favorites but it's spot was taken by Ocarina of Time
Phantom Hourglass took the most time to 100% with waiting for the correct ship parts
I would say Breath of the Wild was one of the shortest games I've played. Regardless of franchise.
I remember I traded let’s go pikachu with my friend for his botw game Before I never played zelda game ever and had no knowledge of it but in a week I defeated all divine beasts which honestly didn’t think I’d get to at far
Game I played the least, Majoras mask. Game I played the most, either Ocarina of Time, or Twilight Princess

Actually, I manage to beat Ocarina of Time 3D in just one day after I got it on Christmas Day.
Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess need to be released on the Nintendo Switch. Players would be able to play them wherever they want and given the length of each game, they would be great to take on trips or can be played at home with friends.
I actually thought BotW was in the thumbnail as a joke, since most of my experience with it has been speedrunning and I forgot how long it is
I can finish Twilight Princess in about 14 hours and that’s pretty much speed running through it.
The only Zelda game I never played was Tri Force Heroes
I did all the divine beasts got the Master sword and killed Ganon within 2 days without glitches But understand what your talking about
My most played Zelda is Twillight Prinzes
Glad to see Ocarina up here!
Skyward Sword is probably the most underrated Zelda game ever.

Majoras mask I definitely spent the most time with, being a completionist and all. Then I would say Windwaker.
Hyrule Warriors definitive edition should be 1
Others have pointed it out but ill say it also. Hyrule warriors definitive edition is the longest zelda game. If you want to complete it to 100% its about 400+ hours.
I put at least 350 hours into BOTW since it came out, its my most played entry. The least played for me are the DS ones and Zelda 2 on NES, cant stand them haha
This was practically in release order.
Ngl, I hate how it takes "completionists" like 20+ hours to be A link between worlds, even though it normally doesn't last 10 for me when going 100%
Well Breath of the Wild is obviously the longest one. I actually did collect all the Mai Mai children. At least this game does give you an idea where they are if you missed one. Doesn't Veran only get time traveling powers because she captured Nayru? I didn't bother with the fishing holes in the remake. Thank you for pronouncing Fi's name properly. I definitely played BOTW for over 100 hours. I don't think I ever finished a game this big before.
I never got to finish twilight princess 😔

Damn u should try playing it on a emulator sometime
To be honnest, I wouldn't know how many hours is NECESSARY for BotW... I only know I clocked in 955 hours!
As a kid, 100% both ages and seasons was a task I was happy to complete
I hardly agree with including TP, I'm no speedrunner but I completed it (100%) and my playtime was less than 30 hours

Lmao what are u on its longer than botw, botw main story is quick as balls
The real number 1 are the Cdi games since everyone quits before they can beat it out of frustration and disgust.
