But I have so many detergents at the moment because of reviews I’ve made in the last haha. I do want to try them out though! I’m so glad my videos are helpful for you! Thanks for watching them!! 😊

    Nice to hear Blueland have updated their bottles! I’ve never had an issue with my original ones, and I really do think most people who had cracking issues did because they misread the instructions and screwed the nozzles on before the tablet dissolved, meaning the released gas was trapped inside and the built up pressure made the bottles crack at the seam. But it’s good to know that that shouldn’t be as much of an issue going forward with the new bottles 😊

    I have one of the new bottles, it works great, HOWEVER, they're made with a flimsier plastic and thus seem less premium, but are probably less prone to breaking.

    The only "reusable straws" that I use are the plastic ones that come with the tumbler cups that I have been gifted over the years which I use pretty regularly. I pretty much never buy drinks (coffee, smoothies, Boba) and if I get a drink at a restaurant (dine in before covid) I just drink it without a straw. It's nice to hear that Blueland changed their bottles because all of my bottles (3) cracked but I can't use blueland since the refill tablets get bloomed from the humidity of Hawaii. I use the Earthbreeze laundry strips instead of Tru Earth since it never showed up (I got a refund). I like that it cleans the clothes well (even my husband's dirty uniform)

  • @StrollingThroughLife

    Those tumbler cups look so convenient! I would always ask for no straw when I went out to restaurants, too. You really got the short end of the stick with Blueland. That’s such a bummer. And it’s still crazy to me that they bloomed!! 🤯 I’m glad Earthbreeze is working so well for you and your husband!

    I feel the same about BlueLand!!!! Love the tablets but hate the bottles! I had them replaced 4X 😭 I have some of their newer bottles and they are better so far, no weird seam that cracks or spray Nozzles that stop working. Glad I’m not crazy and this was happening to others. They were wonderful about replacing and recycle if my old bottles free of charge but still a hassle 🤦‍♀️

    I bought the volumizing hi bar based on your rave review! I haven't tried it yet though since I'm still going through another shampoo. The only other shampoo bar I've tried before was one from Lush and I didn't enjoy it. One of my favorite swaps I've recently made is dish soap. I bought a giant block of castile dish soap from Earthhero, and it's working really well so far! It came wrapped in paper and that's it. I think it's going to last a really long time too.

    CONGRATS ON 10K!!! This video was so much fun and so practical. It's so important to recognize that one swap isn't going to work for every person so I think it's so important to talk about pros and cons to products so everyone has a guage about what will and won't work for them :) I also bought a lot of my frist swaps on Amazon too. It was impulse buys and I don't have zero waste stores near me. This was so relatable!

    I use the Spring & Vine moisturizing bar for my shampoo (LOVE the accessibility of being sold at Target, don’t love that the one I bought came wrapped in plastic, but hopefully they’ll change that if they haven’t already) and conditioner bars from Lush. I absolutely LOVE my shampoo and conditioner bars from Tree Naturals! They are so luscious and make my hair softer than any other shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. I am also so so happy with my laundry sheets from Earth Breeze! Definitely love my Leaf too! Hoping to one day take the plunge and try the tushy bidet. Also, for anyone using bar soaps of any kind, Kitsch has amazing soap bags made of RPET that are not scratchy like other soap bags, create an amazing lather, and allow your soap to hang dry! I definitely regret trying the Etee shampoo and conditioner bars...they just have such a funky mix of too many scents and did not get my hair fully clean.

    I don't agree about the straws. The plastic they are shipped in, is a one time thing compared to the hundreds or thousands of plastic straws people use in just one year at fast food joints and restaurants. I think zero waste people are sometimes too hard on themselves. I have found having multiple straws are a good thing when guests come over for events or if one is in the dishwasher I can grab another!

    Lush shampoo and conditioner bars were horrible for me. And they had tons of artificial dyes and fragrance so much so it stained the shower and was pungent. I'm trying to avoid harsh chemicals not add more to my life. And it almost killed my hair. Horrible feeling, so many tangles. Almost put me off to the bar concept entirely.

    Why is dropshipping bad? Maybe you could make a video explaining that. Is it because the consumer is unable to tell if the product was ethically and sustainably made?

  • @StrollingThroughLife

    @StrollingThroughLife

    3 жыл бұрын

    I wouldn’t say the idea is bad. It’s just that the majority of the time (if not all the time haha), the products are not sustainably or ethically made. If there was sustainability in mind, I’d be fine with it. Sustainable companies have to be more connected to their supply chain in order to verify that their products are being made sustainably and ethically. There are some eco/ reusable products being dropshipped. But, there’s not a ton of information about who made those products and what their working conditions were like. I’m hopeful that more transparency will happen in the future though! This a short answer but I hope that helps!

    My favorite swaps have to be shampoo and conditioner bars and sugaring my legs instead of shaving. I think for a lot of people dealing with anxiety, depression, etc. zero waste razors aren’t a great option because they involve removable razor blades. For that reason, when people ask me for recommendations I tend to point them towards sugaring rather than razors. Least favorite is probably Bees Wrap. Mine is falling apart after only a few uses and never seems to get truly clean. I prefer using containers or sandwich bags :) Great video! I enjoy your honest reviews of products!
