One thing to mention about T-55 is that it's the same rank as TURMS so you can grind the whole tech tree with it. Also 8.3 is probably the second most played BR after top tiers, and you don't get thrown to 9.7 games with things like Leopard 2 and Abrams...

As a player with 9 years in the game (and most of these premiums) I completely agree with this list

I feel like the WMA301 being omitted was a big oversight. Thermals, LRF, stabilised, and a strong apfsds at 8.0 on a wheeled vehicle is absolute insanity.

Addendum for the Wyvern: The air target belts can kill medium tanks in air RB. This thing loves to print 50k sl & 20k rp. It's one of those planes that it sucks to play with but amazing to play as.

The fact that T114 used to be 6.7 for years and only got moved recently is still mind blowing to me.

I can agree with most of the guide as I have the Germanified KV-1 as well as the Finnish KV-1B both are very strong in their respective BRs and both are great tanks for grinding but the KV1C has a 10x better gun compared to the KV-1B which only has a 5% better income rake and lower BR but both can put up a good fight. It's also a good tank to teach you how to play the big cats namely the Tiger in particular as so many kids rush the Tiger and cry when they die from rushing in thinking its invincible and forget what angling is. I'd still watch out though for tanks like the Jumbo, T14 heavy, etc where you have to aim to kill them instead of mousing over the enemy to click and watch it go boom and don't think they can't hurt you as their APHE when it goes into your cupola will turn your turret crew into pastry. I would also recommend the TU-1 as it's one fast speed demon of a bomber and I can usually bomb points in Realistic AB before fighters can stop me and if they do catch me the cannons it carries if you know how to aim and have played the cannon Yaks like the Yak 9T before it will make em pay for challenging you. There's also the I-153P which is probably the most underestimated plane I've ever played and those 20mm cannons are a meme, just pretend you're a kid who has stolen mommy's credit card for a premium and when they try to turn fight you ya go "you are already dead comrade" and rapidly disassemble their aircraft piece by piece, just don't chase em down if you don't finish em off since it's not meant to speed unless the idiot stalls trying to. Also since I want a tank to play with my Object 279 I won from that space race event I was looking at the T-55AM-1 and now that I know it's a good tank to introduce me cold war era tanks I wanna thank you Bo for the helpful info... of course with how slow the War Thunder grind is I'll be an old fart before I get anywhere near top tier but still I'll look into the T-55 whenever it goes on sale as well as the Wyvern cause I've been on the business end of it before and trust me it's a force to be reckoned with. Finally I love the decal, I have ran into your TBLF crew at least once in battle but I'd love to play alongside you one day. Cheers!

I've been on a haitus from the game for a while, played just a few times in the six months since I left my old squadron. But for whatever reason, this video made me excited to play again.

I bought the T114 yesterday after wanting it for the longest time and I can tell you, it was well worth the wait! I got my first ever Maus kill with that tank. It is amazing and to my surprise it was able to take some damage and give me the chance to run away. I am finally enjoying playing the Americans at 7.7+. No more suffering and it's all thanks to the T114.

I picked up the TAM 2IP yesterday and have been having a blast, everything you need/want on a light tank, plus a strange amount of tankiness against autocannons alongside the insane DM33 round

Definitely learned a thing or 2 from this video. Always enjoy this kind of content as it is interesting to see what people recommend what to buy

My favorite premium is the German IL2 (1942). It gets strike spawn with a great armament and only one kill will pay the repair. Usually if you land a couple shots in a plane, it will devastate it so this is one of my recommendations.

Its a little devilish satin monster that kills everything! Such a good description of the t114, love it xD

2 things ill say about the list is 1. the cv90 is rear turreted meaning urban engagements or rounding corners it would be at a disadvantage 2. the XP50 compresses a ton at like above 650kph so just be mindful when diving on people

The Mi-28a needs to be recommended. Over powered at 10.0. also revenge tool for CV90105

If I recall wyvern was 5.0 when it first got added. I don't understand how it it has gone down to 4.0. but yeah its absolutely ridiculous for it's br.

I bought the G55s to use with my italian naval lineup and it has been an excellent for that purpose.

I do like it when you guys do this type of content because it can help war thunder players looking to buy premiums avoid mis-stepping when buying a premium. I personally picked up the G.55S and i only have played one game with it but i already fell in love with it absolutely best bang for buck especially since i want to grind out the italian air tree

Those 3 cannons are so nasty!

I’m suprised the RU-251 wasn’t on here I mean the heat can take some getting used to with trees and fences but I love that thing with it’s gun and the no armor best armor

Glad to see the IS-6 in this list. The acceleration of the reverse gear on the IS-6 is so FAST, that when used correctly it can caught enemy players offgaurd, it's so cool!

I wonder why soviet heavies have much better reverse than say the T-72 or the T-90? On the T-72 it's kinda understandable but why not put better engine and transmission on newer tanks?

too bad it got code-cracked and found its coding gave it 100mms MORE armor than its in-game desc. says, making it deliberately THE single most broken heavy tank in the game, and proved Gaijin was illicitly buffing their own national tanks. IS-6: garbage in real life, an illegal admin tank in-game

IS-6 came out just after I started playing war thunder and my first tree was the British. It was a nightmare. You simply couldn't pen it from the front in those days, it used to be so OP'd. And they were everywhere, there'd literally be a swarm of them against you. I despised that tank. But I have one now, much better balanced than in the olden days but I highly recommend it, plus its good fun to play.

I bought a ton of stuff (mainly 2 campaigns, 2000 golden eagles and the XP-50 I am not that rich, lol) I have been wanting. I am taking your recommendation on the XP-50 and will look forward to trying it out. I hope it helps you keep making these hilarious adventures!

i agree on the T-55, the Turms is just a completely different Meta compared to lowtier, and the T55 is a nice transitional vehicle.

KV-1 C is definitely one I've thought about getting. It paired with the t34 747 would be a kinda cool line up.

The might Chad-6! I got it, I do say I love too brawl… but the T114 is the bane of its existence.

Thanks for the video. I am a newbie and just got myself the Cobra King, as I really like the american tanks. I think it will serve me well.

I would also highly recommend the ki-87, I get on average 3 kills a game with it and it makes grinding the Japanese air tree super easy with upwards of 20k rp a game if played right.

For anyone looking to grind Chinese ground or just have an SL printer the WMA301 is amazing. 8.3 BR with a full stab 105mm Sabot and Tandem ATGM. It has Gen 3 thermals and is a wheeled vehicle so it can get to cheeky spot very fast. It even has an LRF. Down tiers it dominates, 8.3 it dominates, up tiers it also dominates. Thing is a very deadly tank. Only downsides is it can be killed by 12.7 or larger anywhere, has no reverse, and no depression. Other then that when used correctly (flankin and spankin) you will be the MVP for your team and the bane of existence for the enemy team.

100% agree with you guys on the T55. It is a monster that can punch way above its weight class. It has its drawbacks in a 9.7 and up situation but it's still capable of taking down end game MBTs

Love this video bo! I'd say an honorable mention would be the Do-335B2. It's kinda nimble at times and it's cannons melt both air and ground targets. Plus it's faster than most other things at 5.7

I mean the issue with the do is the ju288 spam and that you can be nimble at times but everything at its br dances on it.

I bought the Tiger II Sla.16 and it was the best investment I’ve ever done got me from rank 3 to Rank 5 in a matter of weeks or months

As a high tier jet player, I only have one favorite and that's the F-5C. The Wyvern was a great choice to be added, I've had it for awhile and it performs wonderfully in both mid tier and high tier battles.

100%. That's the only American premium you need to buy. XP-50 is fantastic, and quite fun, but if you just want the entire tech tree in 2 weeks of grinding the F-5C is where it's at.

As an avid tank player, the Centurion Action X is a great pick; awesome gun and shells, good armor, decent mobility, and a fantastic stabilizer, obviously with premium bonuses. A great choice!

I've been tempted to buy the Wyvern for a while now but it's about $52 NZD which I find a bit much, but I mostly use planes in Ground RB as CAS so I think it'll be worth it.

The Rooikat is an amazing tank, It has a really good gun at all battle ratings and it's very fast, has scouting and the armour is good at absorbing rounds. It also has really good thermals for 8.7

I personally have been playing this games since launch and I 1000% agree with this all the newbies I would follow what they say and just have fun in this game trust me the bring is worth it,😀

The M3 Grant or lee is a effective tank. The Marder is a very good tank destroyer because of its size

Xp 50 is an amazing aircraft, first premium I ever bought. Insanely fun

I think a super underrated plane that I snagged during the sale is the ki-61 II the 4.7 Japanese one. It’s unreal, the mg151s hit like a bud and it’s scary how it can just turn on the inside of anything, I’ve been destroying xp-50s with it. In 3 games I have 2 aces already :)

Maybe podcast style thing where you pick a vehicle and talk about it and have the game play of it playing in the background while you all share your experiences with said vehicle with any of the gang that's available whether it's premium or otherwise maybe start with the premiums and then work your way to the tech tree but like I said I once a month kind of deal maybe

The Hawker Typhoon is a very good aircraft for bombing and dogfights the bf 109 g6 is also good same with the spitfire and hurricane.

Honestly, I think the Black prince is a really good grab if it goes on sale, incredibly tough even against most HEAT that you see

awesome to see a video like this, as a Warthunder player in 7.3 British tanks, 6.7 American Tanks, I'm a novice player and it's good to see what the better premiums are. OOOO, would love to see maybe another set of vehicles like, bottom tier tanks like 1.0-5/6 and then like 6-12!!! Just an idea!

Wyvern is my most played vehicle period, and I play and spade most of the vehicles I get, and I strongly vouch for it, imo there's no better grinder for the British tech tree!

I have been playing since March 2013, My favourite tanks are the German KW-II 754(r), German Tiger H1. USSR KV-2 (ZiS-6), kV-85 and the US T20, and m4a3e2 (76) w.

The t114 was a hilarious purchase. Killing people in an uptier is like stealing candy from a baby now

I’m picking up the T-34-100 probably, I used a test drive a few years ago and really liked playing it.

the premium ariete is one of the best premiums i have bought. valid reason for not including it in the list bo, but for anyone wondering if they should get it, most definitely. if you can get it on sale, that’s a steal.

I just bought the XP-50 i went from broke to having 200k SL also when your using the air target belt you can one shot kill light and some mediums tanks in Air RB they give a good amount of SL apparently they have explosive fillings

T54E1 is a must. Even though it may have fallen off the past year or 2, it is still a fucking beast. 5 second auto loader, decent armor, and has a good lineup now. Still think it should be at 7.7 now since it kinda play similar to the Souma but at 8.0 it's still a monster and a lot of people underestimate it.

Surprised the IAR-81C isn't mentioned, seeing as it's (basically) a superior Fw190 in both CAS and air combat.. At 2.7 no less. Fully capable of going right up to 6.3 and still doing well, with the only real drawbacks being it lacks more belt choices for the guns and the relative low speed, being a rank 2 plane. Being relatively cheap makes this a complete steal too.

I have introduced a lot of people to War Thunder lately and my first premium recommendation is always the KW 1C.

Completely agree with your pick of T-55AM-1 over TURMS. Many people I know would recommend the same. Not only is it really just better tier for tier, it is also at a lower br. With the TURMS at 9.7, you will get paired against potentially top tier players that have been playing for potentially several years, so as a new player into top tier, you would be at a large disadvantage since the tank doesn't really have any unique advantages over it's adversaries at 9.7. As for high tier jets, oh boy are they a mess. I honestly wouldn't recommend any high tier premium jets if the player doesn't have experience with at least lower tier jets and doesn't have someone that can play with them and guide them because it is a very different experience from props and is extremely unforgiving especially now with all the all-aspect missiles at 9.7-10.3(which as a normal tech tree player I absolutely despise). Many players that buy top tier premiums end up just bombing bases and ground pounding anyway and not contributing to their teams against air targets which just makes it overall more unenjoyable for everyone. Overall incredible video Bo and Co, really good recommendations you guys have

I would like to just give an honoroble mention to the Brummbar (nuke cannon), Amx-13 SS.11 (great fast reloading cannon and if you cant pen your target you have 4 manually guided missiles that have a pen of up to 600mm its great), SMK russian battleship, Hellcat Mk II (absolutely amazing CAS for its BR) and finally the Tu-1 (Also great CAS for its BR)

A tank I might recommend getting and this tank is for the people that are patient within their shots and I would day the OBJ.120. The reason I say you might have to be patient Is because it has very weak armor but it can still take a shot here and there but sometimes more than likely not

One of the Harriers or the Sea Vixen are my top picks. Harrier is great for mindless grinding since it can bomb a base and rtb before the enemy ever shows up, US one is better than the British cuz of the missiles imo. Sea Vixen is really interesting to me cuz i think it plays more like a boom and zoom prop than a jet. Not having a gun will put you in situations where you can't/don't kill anything, but it gets 2-4 "free" kills most games. Most annoying thing is teammates that don't realize they need to fly away from you instead of at you when the need help.

Jim did a really good job in this video, you should give him more speaking parts.

the premium 335 (Do 335 B2) is probably one of , if not the best non modern ground attacker. kinda surprised it didn't make it into this list (though i forgot its price or if it was sellable to begin with) 3 * 30mm mk 103s, plus the bomb load. if you know how to fly the 335 and your teammates provide air cover, you can easily wipe out an entire enemy teams ground forces. i've seen it happen so many times, it's no longer funny. that plane is an actual monster

What about the Cobra King, its already really cheap, but now that it's even cheaper its worth. Good SL grinder and its just a perfect copy of the tech tree jumbo. Solid choice if you love the tech tree Jumbo

My personal recommendation is the T29: that 105mm T13 round can potentially kill a MAUS from the sides. The 15 second reload is a small price to pay for such a massive power output. In addition, while it’s not exceptionally fast, it’s still more than capable of getting around on most terrain, and the armor is also excellent Also, if it’s still available, grab the P-47M: that thing is a Superprop in sheep’s clothing. It might look like it’s just a refined D-28, but trust me, in practice, this thing is a lot lighter and faster
