🌟⭐🌟 these were the stars I found lol. My favorite book I read this year was The Hard Way by Lee Child. It's book #10 of the Jack Reacher series. I mostly read books similar to this type of book, but there are some other genres sprinkled in there from time to time. I also read Aurora Rising, which I enjoyed. I am going to add the Amina book to my TBR to add a bit of variety to my reading adventures. Thanks for always reminding me why I love reading so much. You rock!

Thank you for such a great video, Lexi. I now want to try and read That time I got drunk and saved a demon. My favorite books of 2023 were Divine Rivals and The Adventures of Amina Al-Surafi. I was really surprised by The Adventures of Amina because I didn't think I would enjoy a pirate book, but it ended up being such a great story. I have just started the Fourth Wing and ACOTAR series so hopefully this year will be a great reading year.

Last year most of my 4 & 5 star reads came from your recommendation!!! Since last couple of years my reading vibe has been cozy, warm, dreamy mystery or middle grade/adult fantasy. So pleased you finally got to Frankenstein and you loved it. It’s my favourite classic and I think it’s exceptionally well crafted. My favourite book of 2023 was Cloud Cuckoo Land, closely followed by The Rose Code, Pachinko and Migrations

I loved The Rules of Magic as well, better than Practical Magic, although I enjoyed that too. My favorite book in 2023 is tied between The Wishing Game, and The Collected Regrets of Clover…both so lovely and touched my heart in different ways. I finally read Frankenstein in 2023 around Halloween. I thought it was brilliant. It’s one of those books that you sit back and think to yourself what message it was trying to portray more than the story itself. Loved it!

I also read Frankenstein in the fall of 2023 and I also really liked it a lot! As you said, the first 20% are very dense but afterwards one just only can get gripped!🤩

Also you again, the grace of wild things ,forth wing, meet me at the lake, encyclopedia of fairies, pineapple st, a wizards guide to defensive baking , keeper of enchanted rooms( 🔉 ) also a few that i loved that haven't made it were wayward and the last word and the only one left !

He always tells people how to pronounce his name because I think a lot of people mispronounce it.❤) It is pronounced as E-lee-us in other parts if the world though. PPS: Alone with you in the Ether and Emily Wildes Encyclopaedia of Fairies were two of my favorites of this year as well. Cannot wait for Map of the Otherlands in a couple of weeks!!! I read The Rules of Magic last year and you're right, Hoffman's style is so unique. My #1 is a tie this year between Babel and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I will not choose!

Just an idea also reading some older book’s recommendations…. Also maybe how you pick your favorite quotes in books etc

I ❤ Alice Hoffman, I've never been disappointed by her books. Practical Magic is a must read, especially for anyone with sisters. Her YA books are wonderful as well.

Fantastic top 10 list. I have add a few to my TBR. A few of my 5 star reads this year were: The Next Best Day by Sharon Sala, Sheets by Breanna Thummler and Delicates by Brenna Thummler (next up is Lights). I just picked up Bookshops & Bonedust yesterday from B&N (I read Legends & Lattes in early Fall and loved it!). My son got me A Winter in New York for Christmas 🥰

I loved The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi as well. It was definitely in my top 3 reads of the year. I think we have similar tastes. A lot of the books you mentioned are on my tbr list. Another that took me by surprise that I loved this year was Finlay Donovan is Killing It. I don't know if you've read it but I listened to the audiobok and it was awesome.

My favorite book of the year was Fourth Wing because it got me back into fantasy which i haven’t read since I was a kid; AND it brought me and my childhood best friend back together after not talking for about 6-7 years! 🎉❤️✨

Am I surprised to see Frankenstein in your top 10? Yes and no. Surprised that you finally read it 😉 and no because I did really enjoy too! I finished it at the beginning of the year and it was one of the best one I read. My two favourites weren"The very secret society of irregular witches" and "The final Empire" (first novel of Mistborn trilogy. Hope you have another great reading year! ✨✨✨

I did read & buy The Time Travelers Wife as a first, loved it & couldn't put it down ✨️

I read Half a Soul based off of your recommendation here. Loved it. But, I was so disappointed when I thought I had thirty more pages left, but it was an excerpt from another book and a bunch of other extras!!! I've been had!!! 😩

Half A Soul made my favorite books list, and I read it because of you. My top five were Hello Beautiful, Remarkably Bright Creatures, The Wishing Game, The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, and Legends and Lattes. I clearly need to read Frankenstein - perhaps I will do it in Jane Austen July, as they are contemporaries. Emily Wilde is number 6 for me.

Alice Hoffman is my favorite writer, her writing is just incredibly beautiful. Practical Magic is actually my favorite in the series! But loved Rules of Magic too (and Magic Lessons)

✨🦊✨ My favorite book caught me entirely by surprise because I don’t like tennis at all, but I loved listening to the audio of ‘Carrie Soto is Back’ by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I think the audiobook is the way to go with this one!!
