    Yeah, that was my thought as well. 10k seems a little excessive compared to the 4000€ over here. But I think it is a matter of import taxes and customs. That's probably why the price increases so steeply.

    May I ask you where you use it for? Timberframing? I'm Dutch but i've never seen one being used here.

  • @mrhortimer1

    @mrhortimer1

    @@donderjager4770 it can be used for timberframing as well as anywhere where you have to cut beams over 100mm (I think that is the minimum cut depth of that particular saw). For example in large production buildings where the roof construction is made from wood. Or pole frame buildings. Basically any beam that you'd have to cross cut multiple times to go through.

    @@adammacer don’t know other brands’s beam saws, but this one has a riving Knife, maybe that helps avoiding pinching? Just my opinion, I don’t know for sure. I’ d be more worried about using that kind of beam saws (don’t know if it’s the right name) that have bar and chain like chainsaws.

    Those saws never really kick back. The slow RPM, ratio of power to weight and especially the diameter of the blade make it far less powerful than normal size saws per kilo. They just stop and that's it.
