    I was once told that more fish have been caught on a Texas rig than all other types of baits and presentations...combined. Considering my own personal success, I tend to believe that. I always have at least one tied on and I'm constantly trying to figure out ways to Texas rig baits that aren't designed for it. Like the hover rig.

    That is interesting! I bet in all of fishing for bass this statement can be a fact. Just for the fact it can be fished anywhere and can also be used for so many different types of soft plastics. Thanks for sharing! - Jimi

    I’ve experimented different ways to Texas rig baits and the way randy does it is by far the best to get hookups. And I never knew about putting your finger under the line to feel bites 😂 thanks guys!

    Texas rig is definitely my confidence bait which is why I'm more patient with it. When all else fails I always fall back on it. I like the skin hook idea. Good video.

    Grabbed up a fishing kayak and been watching lots of your videos and today was my 1st time using a texas rig ( I usually fly fish) and I got a huge fish to grab it (bass or catfish?) but as it swam under my gfs kayak I lost it. I dont think I set the hook good enough but now Im hooked! lol. I had on a black with blue flake 5 inch dinger with a 1/8th bullet sinker. Water was stained from rain. Bobby garland 2 inch pearl minnow on a jighead worked good also for crappie and gills. I can vouch for those at least!

    @@BassFishingDeclassified Went back out today and caught 3 largemouth. 2 on a black and blue flake wacky rig and 1 on a texas rig. I had 2 other bites on texas rig but missed them. I need to wait a second before setting the hook I guess or they were tiny . Lol

    I have tried a lot of different stuff the last few years. Getting caught up in the latest and greatest. This year I have fished the t rig about %75 after the spawn. It straight up catches. 1’ to 20’. Ole monster and mag trick worm.

    Jimi, is there a reason your worm was rigged with such a bend? Always have been told to keep it as straight as possible. Thanks

  • @BassFishingDeclassified

    @BassFishingDeclassified

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, I will say I want it as straight as possible. Once I saw it like this after I recorded I knew I should of put a new worm on. This worm actually caught some fish and was beat up, so I was trying to continue to use it. I had to put the hook further down in it and the bend happened. I actually still caught some fish with it like this. Since I was fishing for fun and not in a competitive situation and they were biting... I was not too worried. Great question! - Jimi
