    I don't think gaming companies truly understand how hurtful to their business it is to not hunt down and ban cheaters instantly. You can play just a couple random games and will experience it, people just instantly gunning you down as you come around a corner crouching... it just instantly kills the game for anyone playing legit. And the fact it's still happening after so many years, come on man....Can't be that hard to find some people to admin the game 24/7 and take immediate action. It's not a small game with upcoming game studios...

    Lots of games make money off cheaters. They ban them and cheaters buy a new account. That is the scummy part of competitive gaming. Video game industry as a whole is a trillion dollars easy. They have the money to lobby the government for laws that target creators/seller of the cheats. They should be jailed and fined. This would severely decrease the amount of cheaters in games. It's disgusting that some of the top games cheaters buy monthly sub for best cheats. Making sure their cheats are always updated and a step ahead of detection. That's probably easy to do if you're a dev for that same game. Turning one paycheck into two. These cheat sellers make a stupid amount of money. It's a million dollar industry that's legal for some reason. So again ask yourself why have these rich gaming companies done nothing legally to help all their games rid themselves of this issue. When the know 100% they can't stop the cheaters through game security. The only answer I can think of is cheaters make them more money one way or another.

    people cheat for lots of different reasons, but a common one for people who compete at the top levels of any competitive endeavor is a feeling of deserving a top spot. Facilitator may have been a very good player who could have made it to the top legitimately, but that would take a LOT of time and grinding. add in the fact that there were groups of people who were already cheating, they may have felt that since they (in their mind) deserve that top spot, how they achieve it doesnt matter. For example, a really famous and popular trackmania player named riolu, who was legitimately a top player, cheated a lot of records. It wasn't bc he couldn't get the world record on whatever track, it's that it would take a lot of time. if you are the best, and everyone knows youre the best, wouldnt it just be faster to cheat and get a record you know you can get anyway? thats how a lot of cheaters think

    It makes sens to perform worse under pressure (large prize and/or crowd watching you irl) and then there's the physical aspect where the setup you play on may be very different from your own or just uncortable from the subtle differences on the LAN/tourney setup. Poor performance at a LAN/tourney isn't necessarily indicative of cheating if they play well normally, but it can be a red flag if there is a huge difference.

    There's only two ways of dealing with cheaters. I'm a teacher myself, and have learned that there's 2 ways to keep the kids from misbehaving. One is to warn every single misbehaving kid, until they know your perception is good enough to catch whatever they're doing. The other is to punish one kid, so the others know you mean it. If you do neither, things get out of hand, and you'll no longer be able to teach because too many kids keep misbehaving. You need to stay ahead of that problem. If your perception is not good enough to be right on top of every misbehaving student, you have to punish one student whenever you do catch them. Same thing goes with cheating. If you can't detect propperly, you have to harshly punish whenever someone does get caught. Otherwise the risk doesn't outweight the "reward". If the only punishment is to stand in the hallway for 2 minutes, that's not going to do anything. The student is actually going to enjoy the little break and do the same thing when he comes back knowing your punishments are soft.

  • @osterhai

    Thats sadly not applicable for a problem this big, cheaters are currently always ahead of the game producers. In this system its more like a fight than a teacher and students.

    @@osterhai Explain how it's not applicable then... I listed two options to deal with the issue and you say one of them wouldn't work (catching all of them). Where is you explaination about the other option not working?

  • @osterhai

    @osterhai

    7 ай бұрын

    @@MHGFTW Well its simply because Cheaters dont fear consequences, getting banned is not realy a punishment they just pull up again with another account. While there are ways to ban a cheaters hardware address, there are workarounds for that as well. Your 2 options arent wrong, the problem is just already so out of hand that its hard to deal with them in the first place. Banning a big cheater to scare the others away wouldnt work because they know that its not possible (at the moment) to ban them for good.

  • @MHGFTW

    @MHGFTW

    7 ай бұрын

    @@osterhai Seems like it's perfectly applicable then. Detection is not possible, so there has to be a harsh punishment. Just like I said in my example, you're really supposed to stay ahead of this problem, or else everyone starts misbehaving. You said it yourself: banning is not enough to scare people. They will just make a different account. I mentioned this in my example too. If the punishment is to light (2 minutes in the hallway), kids won't care. I'm pretty sure we've both come to the same conclusion, it's just that you're lacking in imagination. Detecting and punishing everyone won't work, so there needs to be a harsh enough punishment that scares most people from misbehaving/cheating. Epic (fortnite) did it right. They sued that kid for all he and his parents were worth. Take them to court. Make them lose everything they own, even their house. If it's kids make their parents pay thousands. Make parents take responsibility for their children, just like they used to. Cheaters have zero concept what it means to break terms of service. They have no idea how much damage they're doing to the game. Especially in a BR, every game they play they're ruining it for 50+ other people. Once a handfull of stories like that get out, you'll see the vast majority of cheaters stop, because they don't want to risk any serious concequences. That's just how people are. They need a propper concequence to keep them from doing something. Can you imagine reading about a cheater who lost his house, and as a result had his children taken from him? You can't go easy on this kind of trash.

    I made two friends and started teaming up with them. They were very good and so I started winning more. As I asked for tips to do better, they told me about how they get auto aim on Keyboard and mouse to which I tried. I instantly became 2x better and so we continued playing for sometime. One got banned and came back as another tag but after I realized they got banned for that trick, I disassociated myself from them because they never disclosed that it was considered cheating even though they knew I was trying to get good legit. So I agree with banning people who play with cheaters, its your choice to stay with them.

    Respawn: cheating will not be tolerated *tolerates him 3 times* Then when actual members in the community get banned for ‘cheating’ when hackers login and cheat on their stolen account because of origins’ shitty default security settings respawn doesn’t even give the benefit of the doubt. Never even acknowledged it as an issue when I remember it being a prevalent issue and they had access to data showing the login locations being suspicious.

    I came across 2 pred teams teaming up and wiping everyone out lmao, and they weren’t even that good I just had randoms and they barely survived with back up 😂 what’s worse is that you can only report these people while in-game. I tried reporting them but I had backed out quickly out of habit and was just annoyed af after and stopped playing. Should be very simple to report even after you leave the match. Cheating is wack af, it’s so boring I can’t believe people waste their time on cheating to get results you can obtain naturally by playing/practicing.

    I would say this is a huge problem in both COD and Apex, not only are cheaters and exploiters hard to keep out of the games, there's too many people on the AC teams and Social media teams clout chasing with streamers or top players that have the potential to become profitable social media persons, because they hold a high rank in one of these games when some of them are cheating. Both EA and now Microsoft really need to review these teams and especially do a over haul of their HR departments specifically in recruiting. These AC team positions should lean a lot heavier on ethics than they do coding, because as we have all experienced there isn't a single AC team out there who are as strong of coders as the cheat devs or the problem would be solved. What's needed is more of these AC team member and social media team members with better ethics so we don't have these situations. Now if the person is just hitting apex pred because they want the items and its one time , fine , its a game. The whole concept of multiplayer games is a participation trophy for life anyway, at least they aren't straight doing an unlock tool. That is a little understandable. But if they are doing this season after season or trying to play in tourneys or trying to launch a streaming career that is when AC teams should really comedown on a cheater, not interacting with them on twitter. "Shanice says hey" for COD and "Hideouts" for Apex are probably the biggest cancers in FPS right now, because they facilitate spotlighting a lot of cheaters in their respective games. For those that don't know Shanice is the COD social media manager that basically pushed nadia to the forefront and protected her when Censor could have exposed her. So its obvious she also pushed a lot of other cheaters into high profile spots as cod streamers based on their gender, orientation, or her personal attraction to them, not on their mechanical skills. Some have been found out again like nadia and 5x5 X , some have still been yet to be fully exposed. However, its really these kinds of individuals that destroy a game more than the actual cheaters.

    Theres a reason strike packs aren’t considered cheating. They don’t completely remove recoil or grant otherwise impossible abilities. Certain settings on it automatically activate certain buttons on your controller. The recoil thing just allows it to pull down the right stick for you at a rate of your choosing. It doesnt give you cheats.

    Apex needs an after match summary that has a full list of recent players so you can report for cheating and they need a theater mode so you can send in video clips or at least watch and see if they are for sure cheating or not.

    The funny part about this is the community that always defends and say they are not cheating even though there can be loads of clips showing things that you just can't do normally. Not saying a lot of pro's cheat as most are really good at what they do, but not just in apex but other games, there are quite a few to me that quite often do things that are very sus, as usual though people will defend and defend until that streamer/pro really slips up. (to be honest though even if a streamer/pro "slips up" they still somehow find it in their soul to defend them)
