I'm not American so I think I'm more unbiased than most, he lied and misdirected on a lot of issues. Roe V. Wade, the economy, his behavior around the January 6 incident, the Mexican border "only allowing in murderers and rapists and people from mental institutions", and jobs being stolen by immigrants. They're trying. If there was another debate and he did okay, they'd alter their tune. But they're reframing it away from the core issue. Presidents are needed to make decisions and sometimes act quickly. They couldn't get Joe coherent with advance warning, then he's unfit for the job NOW. They can play games around Trump, but if keeping out the other guy and periodically having moments of semi-coherence is enough, then they could justify putting a full-blown dementia patient into the job. Most people are either lucid, or could after minutes with the aid of a coffee. But for all we know, they had to rest up and maybe even dose Joe to get this out of him.

To a foreigner like me watching part of the debate (not much of a debate really but a blame and shame game, with Trump not answering questions and being too cocky for his own good), Biden came over as unsteady, frail, and unclear in his mind. All in all the regular stuff that Americans consider a debate: tiresome, pathetic on both sides, and not worthy of self-respecting men. Unfortunately, Americans have nobody else, so they'll have to choose the lesser of 2 evils. Good luck to us all😢
