Maybe you drink Four Loko and think you're bad. But kids used to drink wine mixed with cocaine.

All right, after getting... oh, 500 or so comments about this, let me clarify my "vaping" line. Many are pointing out that the deaths that made such a splash in the media were from black market THC cartridges and not nicotine cartridges. That's a fair point. I didn't put a lot of rigor into my research on that, because that wasn't the point of the video. It wasn't even the point of the line, I was simply arguing that today we use stimulants as much as we ever did. So I suppose that was a bit of a boof on my part, but this isn't some kind of anti-vaping video, I don't care if someone wants to vape, I'm sure it's far better than smoking - I've even done a little of it myself. Now, let's go back to laughing at the dumbass who spilled wine all over himself.

I looked it up online because I was curious and it's not what we all think. Apparently the cocaine in coke was pretty much inactive. Coka Cola incorporated coco leaf, a non narcotic strain. It's kind if like hemp seed being referred to as cannabis even though it's inactive. If you mixed straight up party cocaine in soda, you wouldn't really notice much because it would take a ton, because cocaine doesn't really work orally. Essentially, it would be a waste of time and money.

Portugal didn't make drugs legal, just made it not a crime to be found possessing them for personal use. They're still illegal, still an offense. Decriminalised just means no prison sentences, but other penalties can still occur. (fines, bans, loss of public subsidies, etc.) Also, making/trafficking/selling drugs is still a crime, and those specific crimes were the ones that decreased. The current drug possession *offences* also decreased compared to the previous possession *crimes*. So yeah, all valid reasons for (good) surprise.

I've read some articles published in medical journals advocating for legalizing the coca leaves. Apparently in Peru and the area, people carry several around with them and just chew bits of them all day. The amount of actual cocaine in the leaves makes it about on par with drinking coffee, as far the high and increased energy. If I'm not mistaken, the thinking was that the experience was similar enough to cocaine but with such reduced risk that it would lower illegal cocaine use by a large percent. I can see that, personally. Just thought I'd mention that.

This is what happens when Congress is completely broken and non-functioning. Any functioning government would have recognized that these markets need the same regulatory practices as the alcohol and tobacco industries. Or any other product that goes into a human body. But instead of putting those in place years ago, they've let every Dick, Tom, And Harry produce and distribute the stuff. Now everyone wonders why people are getting harmed by them. Not trying to make it political, but I predicted this when I first saw e-cigs getting popular years ago.
@wk3isme70

DirtyBlastard agreed. We need responsible science based regulation. But as long as states and the federal government are losing millions of dollars in Master Settlement money, and tobacco companies losing their lifelong customers, vaping will be demonized. Attacked, and spun into anything they can to kill it. Sadly, they have waited until its a multi-billion dollar a year industry and are going about it horribly. Between big tobacco lobbyist, big pharma lobbyist, and the poor marketing practices of a very small part of the e-liquid manufacturing community, all it took was a few groups chanting “save the kids” and some backroom dope dealers flooding the black market with very bad shit for a few bucks, and its now a perfect storm to kill an industry that aims at offering an alternative product to the one that we know factually causes 480,000 tobacco related deaths each year in our country alone. It makes me sick to know the truth, yet see this happening. #ivapeivote

Portugal decriminalized *drug use* , not drugs themselves. Trafficking is still very much illegal. This means people carrying small doses which are for personal consumption alone aren't going to jail, but people selling drugs absolutely do. The users are instead advised to go to a location where they can use the drug under medical supervision, and where they also get counseling to encourage them to quit.

Ya ba Dabba Dabba doo joe momma
Joe you have such a wide range of topics on your channel and I find myself enjoying all of them. Thank you for making the world a better place by making us all think more. You Sir, are a legend.
Bro your channel needs more subs!! You’re seriously underrated!!👍👍👍
THANK YOU for mentioning Portugal, will now sub!
😂🤣😂🤣 Joe, this video was fantastic! I loved the back n fourth with yourself in the beginning, but my favorite was the wine/cocaine commercial hahahaha 🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️
I'm drinking a glass of Bordeaux right now. I'm very disappointed with it after watching this video.
coca cola is now the only us company allowed to import coca leaves. there’s one single manufacturing plant that extracts the cocaine - coke gets the leaf extract, and one single company gets the cocaine to purify it for medicinal use
I just need to put this out there, but the original Coca-Cola formula was not made it Atlanta, but Columbus GA. There is much debate over this and the exact timeline, but Pemberton was a pharmacist there and that's where he made the first version at least. From what I heard and believe, his alcoholic version was created in Columbus but he changed the formula and moved to Atlanta after alcohol couldn't be sold, and this is where the drink took off.
"Also known as Kyle juice." you bloody legend
2:46 that bit genuinely made me chuckle. good job.
That vin mariani bit was legitimately hilarious
The skit for Vin Marianni was AMAZING!
Do a video on vaping. I believe it’s not as clear cut of a topic as many news sources would have you believe

i second that, but please do the research,
A correction to crack being a "mixture" of cocaine and baking soda: What people normally think of as cocaine is actually the hydrochloride salt of cocaine. Since cocaine is an amine compound, it can exist either as a salt or a freebase. Baking soda is often used to covert cocaine into crack (though there are other bases which can be used such as ammonia), and some may remain in the crack if it's crudely prepared. However crack is not inherently a mixture.
This was a very well put together video
"The number one thing anyone can do to improve their health is cut out soda." Personally I'd say that exercising would be it.
Hey joe! The Vin Mariani skit was freaken hysterical! Made this video my favorite by far. Keep up the awesome work man!
Love how Paul Ruebens is in an anti drug commercial but then plays in Blow "It isn't glamorous or cool".... "Did you guys see how glamorous and cool I was in blow?"
After 2 years the integration of comedy into the vids is so good!
3:40 I'm rolling 💀😂
Just what I need to get me going in the morning, Joe and cocaine😎
