I never understood why Sonic fanartists had the need to give son characters these large, grotesque, human looking feet, but the fact that it comes from Archie Sonic makes so much sense. I've only come across one artist, OmegaSunBurst, who gives Sonic characters (namely Rouge) normal looking feet instead of going overboard like someone with a foot fetish.

He sort of did and sort of didn't. Eggman in the comics at the time was just a robot with a different dimension's Eggman's consciousness downloaded onto it (or something to that extent). So all he had to do was have backup robot bodies built in secret that he could re-download himself onto and carry on as normal.

Off the top of my head, at least twice - in issue 50 and another issue way later where he was revived for like an hour and dies again. Eggman survived this one though (he's also technically the person who killed Robotnik! He's from a different universe sorta)

This is why I kind of like the charm of pre reboot archie genuinely love this stuff. But now idw is so the plane hopefully one day we can get another good series like Archie
