The Otagiri tea set would have only had just the three cups. Tea sets usually contain 3 or 5 cups. The number 4 in Japan is considered unlucky and associated with death. The way the tea is presented on the table is more asymmetric and needs an odd number of cups.

I bought an Otagiri tea set this past month at my local thrift store and it had five cups with it. It has a really cool fish design and in perfect condition. So, I would have to agree with you regarding the number of cups included.

I was just about to type this. 😂 My parents had Japanese friends when I was young and I remember odd numbers being important-3 and 5 in particular.
That Frankoma plate is desirable. Those rectangular plates are like a snack or luncheon plate and fit really well in a cupboard among other dishes. A lot of people prefer that size of plate to the traditional round plates because they help you to keep your portions smaller. The 7p did not mean 7 pieces, it is like a catalog number. That is the Aztec pattern.
In regards to the smell of cigarettes on the painting, you can easily remove it with an ozone machine. They are relatively inexpensive if you get a small one. It would be less than $50. You can take literally anything and put it in a small sealed room for a day with the ozone machine on and it will remove the smell in clothes, furniture, etc. It would be a great tool in the shop and perfect to use in that smaller storage room. 😊
I don't usually gush over cutesie stuff but that little girl laying on the couch with the phone was adorable!!!

‘Waitrose ‘ is a food supermarket here in England. So the cute bunny mug would not be worth much but it was very sweet 😊
I have the same Pyrex set 😊! Got it as a shower present back in 1978!
Waitrose a very posh English supermarket 😊😊😊
Lived in France in the 90s. That bowl from northwestern France is hand painted from one of the galleries there. They are pricey items.
Yes, you're right...that was a vintage wall hanging knife holder.

That painting was fantastic! You left money on the table there. Easy to get the smoke off with windex...I do it all the time, comes right off easily 😢
The Frankoma 7PS is the name of the mold. Mayan-Aztec 9” tray in Desert gold. A good find :)
Just found a Hull cranberry vase at Habitat for Humanity, for $2.50 , it's for my collection, just in time to decorate for Valentines, and the month of February ❤😊
That was a MCM version of a knife block but it hangs on the kitchen wall.
Repousse is the process of creating a design from the back of the metal by using ball punches and a hammer. Modern repousse is made from press stamping the metal on a metal form. The older will have more detail and will show human hand imperfections. The orange glass bottle is a copy of ancient oil crochery. The pointed bottom was so that they stood up in sand without the tipping of a flat bottom. Tar on a painting can be removed by using a mild detergent, a cotton ball and patient determination. Wet the ball and rub in a circular motion. This is for surface dirt only. On old paintings, the finished glaze usually yellows. That needs to be removed by a professional restorer as excessive rubbing and the chemicals used can remove the paint. Before 1900, paintings were cleaned using human saliva. Spit is designed to break down protein based dirt, dust and tar/nicotine.

Maybe the rabbit plate was a divided child’s plate? Just a guess and probably not worth much, but it was cute.

Polish Pottery has great resale profits. Collectors want any piece they don't already have!
I love feeling your joy when you surprise yourself with a special treasure that brings you high dollar. 😂😂😂❤😊❤❤
Should of got those Oneida Candlesticks because the silverware is sought after and goes for a really good price. They were probably stainless.

Norwegian Cruiseline comes into Hawaii. I've seen them docked off the reef in Lahaina, on Maui. Could be a reason for the tiki cup.
Thanks for continuing to increase my vocabulary! Repousse :)
I don’t know why GW doesn’t sell an obvious set of whatever as a set and at a reasonable price please! I’m still looking for a miniature nativity set for a wreath for next year and every piece of the Holy family as well as the crèche was priced separately! Seriously Goodwill! Maybe folks out there actually want one piece of a salad bowl set ??? Doesn’t sound practical or even logical to me🤷♀️Just sayin!Pardon me for people peeving about Goodwills lately but sometimes I just can’t!

The Pyrex set was $30 for all of them. Japanese tea set only come in 3 or 5. The nr.4 in Japan is unlucky which is why there was no 4th cup.
Repousse is beautiful art
The decorative fossil-bearing stone box from Pakistan was a good buy for $6.49. I'd have snapped it up!
😂yes. The yellow stained painting, the nicotine will wash off easily ! Use Dawn dish soap in warm water. Ise wash cloth to wipe off residue. You may have to do this several times. Until water comes off clear . Let dry . Dont scrub , just lightly wipe in circular motion. Can work for frame as well. Later add bees wax or a gpod furniture oil. Let sit overnight & reattach frame next day. ❤
Loved the fish pots! Would look great out on my deck! Wish you had gotten for booth, I would have driven out to buy.
The clear glass vase at 11:39 that you compared to a bag is Swedish. It's by Sea glass works and made in the 70s.
Try a weak solution of Dawn dish soap - the original, with no hand gunk in it. Dawn leaves no residue if rinsed well. Conservators often use human spit (their own), and I've tried it on a nicotine stained (well, more like 'encrusted') painting, worked like a charm.
That clear bag vase you picked up was vintage SEA Glasbruk Sweden. Not sure how much the clear goes for but colors can bring a little bit of money.

Some of Goodwill prices are ridiculous, especially on Home Goods and Marshall items! They should be only a few dollars.
The frankoma dish has a chip on it!!!
I thought I say a chip on the frankoma.
Is that first silver thing in your cart a lighter? I sort of remember my dad having something like that. He always carried a flip Zippo lighter.
Hi, that Waitrose mug bring around 15.00 I have sold those before not quick seller but will sell so for a 1.49 people are buying early for easter.
I heard you say you buy soap in plastic bottles from the supermarket. How about using the polish pottery soap dispenser which is filled up with refillable soap from recycling packaging - meaning less plastic use? ❤
