I was a DJ back in the seventies in New Jersey. I held a mic cord and rapped well before it was put on wax. As a 15 year old, the VERY first record I ever bought was a 45rpm single of “that’s the way of the world “. It still hits the same for me. One of the greatest recordings of all time, by one of the greatest bands of all the time

I wrote an email to Maurice years ago and thanked him for encouraging me through his music. I group up in a household that told me nothing but bad things about myself. So, I'd listen to EWF and got the encouragement I desperately needed and got me and my young son out of that house. My life has been just fine ever since.

I was introduced to E.W.F by my friend who played the keyboard back in 1979 I was a drummer I got hooked on this song the very first time I heard it I've been a fan until this very day 2022 . This the baddest band ever in my book! Mr.Maurice White had a very unique voice nobody and I mean nobody can duplicate his voice! Of course phillip had that high tenor voice like no other the two of them was made for each other with their different sound which complimented each other not to mention the baddest band ever! Those Phoenix horn section was a beast!! R.I.P maurice white. 🙏🙏

Marty I actually like the movie. Its not really all about them but more about Harvey Keitel who was their producer. It’s was still pretty good to me. Yes every song was from the LP.

I loved Maurice White. The joy he brought into my life, and this world is incalculable.

I was blessed to see them live in London 1982..I was 18

I wish they'd give the late Charles Stepney his due respect on this.

Not only did I see them multiple times, but I lived across the street from Verdine with saxophonist Benny Golson, and was able to attend several studio sessions in LA in the mid eighties. I also attended sold out concerts and was always backstage. Greatest R & B band in history!

Maurice White was of the most purest soulful voices ever. Period. Peace my brother.

Eu vi uma apresentação deles no Brasil em 1980: tinha 14 anos. Minha mãe, com muito sacrifício arrumou o dinheiro para o ingresso (nessa época ela comprava roupas para eu e meus trrês irmãos uma vez por ano, no Mappin, em 12X no carnê). E lá fui eu, ver um espetáculo que após 42 anos ainda é inesquecível!!!!! PS. o Verdine White solando o baixo no ar, perpendicular ao solo foi demais...

It became cheaper for producers to bang on synthesizers and use voice enhancers.

Love this, so much, seen them twice in the mid 70's, Springfield Civic Center, one of the shows was the best show I've ever seen.

Marshall, yes it is. The movie is actually a low-budget film, but it was pretty damn good in my opinion. Check it out when you can and let me know what you think. The ending it the BOMBBBBB....... . It is not really about them, but their producer in the movie who is played by Harvey Keitel, and his partner who is played by Charles Stepney who was their real-life producer.
