THAT’S NORTH KOREA!

The DMZ (aka the DeMilitarized Zone) lies along the border between North Korea and South Korea. There is a promise of peace at the moment, thanks to the two countries competing together at the Olympics, but nonetheless, it is a strained and stressful environment, but I needed to show you what it was like. This tour took me from the Olympics in PyeongChang to the DMZ at the North Korean border and back in a day, and visiting the observation point along with the DMZ Museum really gave me an accurate portrayal of the past and the present.
Thank you for subscribing, it really does help open opportunities for the channel, so we can keep experiencing interesting adventures together.

Damn Mr. Downie! Like I said previously, just discovered your channel few weeks ago, and what is not to like? You scratch the curious itch in us all, and you present it in such a way that to so entertaining to the pallet. For those of us that are too wound up in our own lives to travel and question, ten minutes or so with you sir, makes one realize that we all need to jump off the cliff of life, and build our wings on the way down. Thank you.

I'm confused how is this channel only at 2k subs? Kind of demotivating to see such high quality vids and no people watching

I was stationed there when I was in the army, wild history there, sad history, my grandfather who I told you about that was a rail roader, actually fought at heart break ridge and Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War as a Marine, he also fought in WW2 prior, he came home and became a rail roader in Cincinnati, my dad was stationed on the DMZ in the 70s and I was there from 2009 to 2011, I’m only 37.

Great tour of the DMZ! Interesting stuff mate. I also find it intriguing that their propaganda is again in overdrive while they both play nice with the Olympics occurring.
