@@smigoltime Do you use it more to let the stick go dead and control the plane primarily from the rudder? I know with mouse aim if you get in a flat spin the control scheme would work against you as it would get stuck pushing to one side, while in sim controls letting it go dead and countering with the rudder will get you back on track quickly.

​@@connlamy dead brain is struggling to follow what you mean exactly xD I only use full real to enter flatspins, I go rudder left and pull, then toggle control mode to full real and look behind me with C, that way it forces the flatspin quicker

Bomb-tossing is so goofy, it's wild that you can just throw that shit like 20 miles across the map. Also that near-miss at the end with the Bearcat was crazy.

this is a great display of the weight effectiveness, like you show how much you can rudder and roll when at low speeds

that later dogfight against the LF MK IX really shows how much of a UFO that plane is at low alts, even with an engine crit the enemy pilot really went toe to toe with smigga in a 109 and managed to trade.

I like ground RB because without labels you can really shine with the 109 and its a game of who spots who first. Also props to the IL-2 original series voice lines, you triggered nostalgic neurons i forgot existed

This blitzkrieg ost makes me cry. I feel so young and so old at the same time

the spitfire fight once again showed. The more advanced the flight technique gets, the more the head-on approach happens. Classic case of "We went to the limts and beyond, just to be here again"

About the power management issue the other dude said: the first F8F-1 wouldn't have died of they either kept their alt advantage or if they didn't overshoot by simply deployung flaps and setting engine to 0%.

Enough of g10? Guess the 109K4 and the Ta152 H in ground is next💀 would love to see that btw

Amazing skill and the rotation effect on the propeller hub looks so cool, it's unfortunate the bf109 from the F1 to the G6 in the game do not have the same rotation effect even if you use the same skin as the G10 or G14. I hope one day Gaijin solves that problem.

I still think Smigol is the single most effective MK 108 shooter I’ll ever see. And I definitely agree with many of the previous posts that watching people trying to turn fight or rolling scissors in much higher energy state fighters is bizarre.

I don't have the g10, but the k4, which i love, is better at low alt. I love being a low alt gremlin. Also, what people don't understand is that the low speed control on the bf109 also works after the stall, so right after the stall, there is a short period where you out turn most aircraft and smigol uses that to his advantage in every bf109 video

is there any chance the C.202 (EC maybe) could do this?

Smigol invented trust vectoring in 1944 lol. I have been using the rudder for stall snaps for a while, but never have I tried using all three controls at once

If air RB then K4. Its simply faster. G10 is better at low speed dogfights, stall fights etc because its lighter and has a much better rudder

Beautiful fight againts the spitfire

How often do you swap between keypad controls and mouse controls while flying and looking backwards? For some of the really erratic flying I see jerky mouse movements, but you also use the keyboards a bunch. What’s your preference between the two?

I use keyboard 99% of the time during a fight. All the wiggling and stuff is keyboard, Im doing this on purpose to pull harder and evade at the same time. I only use mouse to look around and aim at the very last moment.

Watching this leaves me thinking just how easy all of these fights woulda been in an A6M3 mod22 or A7M lol. Insane how valuable maneuverability is in WT.

I never understood why so many people swear by the 109 in a dogfight. Handles like a heavy fighter and you have to play a mini game with your flaps whenever you get into a dogfight. Props to you for making it work.

Because it has one very strong strength that can be used nearly any time to gain an advantage. Heck, in air RB it gives it the positional advantage from the start against most opposition. Against the average player if you know what you are doing it is as strong an advantage as just having a flat out better turn rate. Manipulating energy is the thinking man's way to win a dogfight and the 109 is one of the best at it. Combine that with the fact that it's low speed handling is probably the best in game (yes, the turn rate of late 109s is below average at best but at low speeds it does precisely what you want precisely how you want to do it. This is what I mean by handling.) and it is a very, very potent combination for low speed dogfights. There is a very distinct reason that most of these fights Smigol stays below 400kmh. He is exploiting the two greatest strengths of late 109s. Personally I'm not that big on 109s because they are too "one trick pony" for my tastes but that doesn't mean that I don't respect what they are capable of.

And sure the 109 is very good at getting an early energy advantage, however this seems to come at the cost of literally everything else. The low speed handling is actually very good since you can actually prop hang for a bit with its strong engine. But the flaps take too long to deploy and I find myself fighting my own plane as much as I’m fighting my opponent. Its far from being a bad plane because boom and zoomers have much more agency in a match, but so many people recommend it as a dogfighting machine, when I think it’s actually one of the tougher planes to dogfight in.

@@immort4730 That is why I call the late 109s a one trick pony and am not a big fan of them myself. They are very below average in nearly every other performance category. But what they are strong at they are very, very strong at and someone good enough to take advantage of their strengths can do quite a bit.

Pound for pound, do you think the g-10 or k4 is better? I always take the k4 for grb cap stuff, the 30mil does work but i only ever really see ya in the g series.
